Truck window was dirty, only had half a tank of gas, and the exhaust system had a leak. This causing me to have to make an additional stop for fuel before even loading, and exhaust fumes in the cab during the trip. Also trying to gauge a half of tank of fuel for return was an inconvenience to say the least.

Dian SI’ve used this location twice. Both times the staff was friendly. The most recent interaction was good, but there seemed to be some confusion with lost keys to the truck I was supposed to get. They did quickly find another truck, so this isn’t really a complaint, just a simple note.
ALISON KI had some problems with my location changed (not by me), and sent to the other location and know one was there to help me. I went back to my original location where the trainee and experienced helper could not get the trailer hooked up. Had to leave without the trailer (while I had movers waiting for me). Came back in the afternoon where Victor was a great help getting things worked out. The two female employees were great with hooking up the trailer and I was on my way. I wish I had the female’s names but they along with Victor were very apologetic and very helpful. I will use them again in the future.

John EFIX YOUR APP! The app could not find my location, and it absolutely would not scan the barcode at the location. I could open the barcode scanner and it would stay open UNTIL I POINTED IT AT THE BARCODE and then it would immediately close without reading the barcode.

Larry KWas not happy that the gas gauge stuck when we were filling up the tank on return so instead of doing just 3/4 tank it quickly flipped to totally full!. I told the associate but he said that was nothing he could do on a refund. That is not good customer service. You could clearly see that the tank was over what was needed for return and therefore you benefited from this. I 100% expected that this should have been compensated back to me. NOT happy.

christine c | Overall ExperienceThe thing I dislike most about this location (Hwy 69 in Prescott, AZ) is the area where one picks up trailers, and other towable items. The area is in front of the building, where there's ONE WAY In & ONE WAY OUT. The problem with this is that there is nowhere to turn your car or truck. It would be great if, after they hook your trailer, etc. up to your vehicle, you could then pull through the area, and then either drive out to the highway, or pull around the building, and back up to the same driveway that you drove in on.

Donald DThe front desk person was terrible. He quoted me $700 + for a hitch with wiring. I opted to only get the hitch ($320) since it was for a bike rack, but would have liked the wiring, in the event I ever towed a trailer. When I asked the hitch installer (the owner) at time of pick-up, he indicated it was about $120 more for the wiring. It was unfortunate that the desk clerk was not accurate (nor did I feel comfortable that he knew what we was doing at all).
Edward LUhaul without question work on the damn app. There so many issues it becomes frustrating and more of a pain in the ass than it is streamlined. I’d rather deal with someone at the city counter than the stupid app. Even so, the latency on the app is bullshit and the repetitive questions about miles, exact location address including the residents name, 2 ppl for reference, I mean cmon. You already take ID and credit card information. Also it’s a little ridiculous when you follow the process on the app and have to do it again at the city counter. Gtfoh with this under developed bullshit!!!!
Jacob MThe only complaint is that , we needed to speak to someone about leaving the truck sit at the Prescott U-Haul facility while we unloaded it into Uhaul storage locker , when we called we were placed on hold for 45 min while sitting alongside the highway. The person who answered the phone on 3-17-24 told us that the people in the store were their biggest priority . One would think that having a piece of Uhaul equipment sitting alongside the road would have priority due to it being a safety concern.

Joesph MThe 2023 pick up truck and car carrier were ready at site on time. Staff responsive and flexible for last minute pick up time change. We did a 340 mile round trip to Kingman to pick up a car. The truck and trailer worked very well at highway speeds even without trailer brakes. Truck stopped well due to 4 wheel disc brakes. Highly recommend this combination for moving cars.

I needed a truck for a few hours and decided to not invest in the Safe Move insurance when reserving online because it was going to be very low risk project. Imagine my surprise when I saw I was charged for it on my final bill after i had driven off the premise. At no point during our interaction with the general manager did he even mention if we wanted to add the Safe Move in an attempt to up sale. He left the register many times to help another associate and told us to sign for the rental and then sign for the card. I noticed the price was higher than what I expected to pay and he say we rounded up the miles to be safe. He presented as being helpful but I can say with 100% certainty that I did not add the Safe Drive but what can you say after you’ve driven off the lot? And while I understand as a consumer I should be cautious of what I’m signing, it’s pretty unethical to add unwanted items knowing most people just sign and go. If your bonus policies are structured on this, I would reevaluate the people in management positions because this is exploitative and predatory.

I thought it was handled by the employee who was supposed to set up auto pay. When I came in to pay January rent there was an additional $50 charge I had to pay. This was your employees fault for not setting up the auto pay correctly. Not real happy.

Amber D | Overall ExperienceCame with my crew and multiple vehicles to clean out our unit only to find that the elevator was not working and there was nothing we could do. You have all of our email accounts. If something as critical as the elevator is not working, you should send out an email to everyone with a storage unit to alert them to this problem. Your exterior walls should be insulated. Some of the stuff that we had against the exterior wall got mold on it because of how cold that wall gets. Never even thought of that when we were given that unit. I have a ton of books still in there and am praying that they are not moldy as I would be heartbroken. You should warn people about that or insulate those walls so they don't get so cold. New management is WAY friendlier than the previous one!

Kendra G | Overall ExperienceThe trucks are parked in the back lot in such a way that makes accessing the units in the back difficult and sometimes impossible with anything larger than a car. The unit leaked at the back. The roll up door came off the pulley several times. The previous tenant had a good deal of rodent activity. The elevator was out of order several times and we had to empty an indoor unit with a hand truck down the stairs. The ear piercing door alarms are quite unpleasant. The units are pricey and the late fees start sooner than any of the other facilities I store with. The staff and call holding times were some of the worst that I have experienced at any of the local facilities, but occasionally I would get a very pleasant and helpful staff member. The facility overall is clean and well maintained. The bathroom is very much appreciated and not offered at every facility. Overall, one of my least favorite facilities in the area and I am glad to be out of it.

LYNNEA B | Overall ExperienceMy experience with your facility has been stellar, right up until the day I vacated my unit. I have nothing but good things to say about the storage facility itself, with special thanks to your cleaning crew. The spoiler to my experience was the day I moved from my unit. I came to the office more than 2 weeks prior, to ask about notification, procedures, refund policies, hours of operation, etc., to make sure of being able to coordinate my move out smoothly. I needed to hire help, so it was important to me that I have all my bases covered, so as not to waste people’s time or efforts. I was able to get movers to come on Sunday August 13th at 8am. This time was deemed appropriate, as the signage on the building near the entrance clearly stated, that the building is accessible 7 days a week, from 5am-10pm. However, upon arrival, the building was locked. We waited and waited, no one came to open the building. We finally gained access through the 24hr stairwell door, and were able to complete the move-out, be it NOT conveniently. I was contacted later that day by a female employee asking if I had vacated my unit. I told her I had, and she wanted to “close it out” immediately over the phone. I told her I had a large refund due, and would be going into the office first thing in the morning to settle, and close out the unit & account. I told her of my difficulty getting into the building, and that moving out through the stairwell was awkward and inconvenient. She then became condescending & defensive, telling me that the facility doesn’t open until 9am on Sunday, and that it is clearly stated. I reiterated that I was aware that the “office hours” started at 9am on Sunday, but that the signage on the building clearly states that the storage building hours start at 5am. I did not appreciate her attitude, period. I arrived early on Monday to get my refund balance, which was handled kindly & expeditiously by Rick. I showed Rick a photo of the sign on the building, and asked his opinion of the interpretation of the verbiage used to show office hours & storage building hours. It was the same as mine, and he asked me where the picture was from. He was quite surprised when I told him it was attached to the building wall, adjacent to the entry door. It was then that it became clear to me, that few, if any, of the office staff have ever read the sign, or are even aware that it says that the building has different prescribed hours than the office. So, I’m thinking either the building hours should comply with the sign, or you should change the sign to match the hours that you actually want to keep. Turned on the wipers… all of a sudden there was this horrible noise … the passenger side wiper was broken & scratching the windshield. When we got home… we tied a wash cloth on the end of the wiper, so it wouldn’t scratch the windshield any more. Other than that- everything was really good.

Things changed on my trip from Chicago to Prescott ended up with a car hauler and a 15 foot truck still to be dropped off at Prescott location I was told that I would get a storage locker free for the first month 5 x 10 when I arrived they told me that they do not participate with the promotions for the free one month storage locker then he said let me see what I could do. I need help with the storage locker free but it’s not anything to what he did but aggravate me saying that you guys don’t participate in this promotion, and answer all the traveling. I was doing to have someone just, not know what they’re talking about. It’s pretty frustrating. The other thing was I was there after 5 o’clock, so I had to use the service entrance with the keypad which was very poorly explained to me. I didn’t know that there was two keypads that I had to use but that finally got straightened out so all in all people there need to be trained a lot better Customer relations as well as knowing their product and equipment in a little bit more thorough explanation on how to use keypad entry

There's no way to gauge that. I ended up giving you almost 3/8 of a tank extra and at today's gas prices that could have been 25 to $30 exthirty dollars extra in your pocket. There's no way to refund any money back to us for the extra gas.. I actually think the old way was better for the consumer. You received the truck full ,you bring it back full.

The smaller doors are not as easy to use when moving furniture as the larger, automatic doors. There is a container with poison in the unit to keep rodents away. I couldn't tell what the container was until I picked it up & was then able to read the writing on it that said poison, do not touch.

Instead of sitting on a large open area, this storage facility has multiple floors and seats against a tall hill. Icy slopes in the winter make its access a bit tricky. A large elevator and various carts are, however, helpful for moving things in and out of storage. The staff is very helpful and if it wasn’t for the location itself, I would highly recommend this location.

Had a contract number and when we got there they said “ oh that’s actually not available “ despite the fact we had a full size moving truck on the way and nowhere to put things . Which is how we got the smaller unit. Amazingly about 20 minutes later, our big unit we had reserved was miraculously available again. When we went to move out of the unit, It says there will be a $50 fee to have the locks cut. Which is fine because in the move I misplaced the keys. I get a call from a lady at the storage place saying that WE have to have the arrangement to get the lock cut. Which means we had to be there. I never got the credit we were promised for enrolling in automatic withdrawal. When we were there, there were two other people with the same issues of reserving online, and coming in to nothing available. I wouldn’t ever use this place again because of the stress it caused.

KJ, the manager, was at a loss to explain this incident, apologized, and tried his best to help provide (non-climate controlled unfortunately) storage. I'd recommend close monitoring of your "reservations", with frequent personal phone calls to the manager of the actual facility that you're dealing with, NOT some U-Haul reservation agent (likely in another state).

Rhonda D | First ImpressionsI reserved 2 climate controlled 10x15x9 storage units. I was very excited when they became available because this place is always full. I loaded up the UHaul truck and drove 2 hours to Prescott to put everything into storage. I arrived only to be told that they did not have my units anymore. I asked if they could see my reservation and they said yes. I asked what I did wrong that the units were not actually reserved for me and they said I did nothing wrong, someone just rented them out from under me. I said I needed the units as I had a full truck sitting in the parking lot. They said there was nothing they could do. They had 2 small units available, but only 1 was climate controlled. I didn't really have a choice, so I took the 2 units. I asked that the cost be reduced as I would be paying more for these 2 smaller units than I would have for the 10x15x9 climate controlled unit. They said only the manager could do that. I asked to leave a note to have him call me. They said they could not do that. I asked if my name could be put down to get the next 10x15x9 climate controlled unit that became available and they said they could not do that either. They basically did not care that they gave away the units I had reserved and now won't make it right by combining the cost of the 2 smaller units into the price of the larger unit. If you send an email to the one provided on the electronic receipt (937024_GM@UHaul.com) it comes back as undeliverable. I got another e-mail from a business card for the manager and have e-mailed him (KJ) and have not heard anything back yet. When you call the local number, it rolls right to the corporate UHaul service center. They will not handle the situation either. It must be handled locally. I am still short one unit and do not have faith that if I reserve one when it becomes available it will actually be there for me to use. Very poor customer service. The customer service person was nice, but could not do anything for me and did not offer any help to make it right. This place is always sold out, so I guess they figure they don't really need the extra business. Very disappointing. They tell you to contact the local U-Haul Storage Facility and try to resolve any disputes before leaving feedback, but they make that almost impossible to do. The e-mail they provide in their correspondence does not work and the local number rolls to corporate. Only by actually going to the facility was I able to get a different e-mail for the manager, but he did not respond. I hate leaving negative reviews, but I just can't seem to get anywhere with this situation by no fault of my own.

However a week later, I went back to the unit, my key didn’t open the lock. When I went to the desk, I found out they broke into my locker to check on it. They said the insurance company wanted to see if there was any damage. No one thought to tell me. They actually broke into my unit without my permission. This is unacceptable. I will never store at uhaul again. PLUS, they didn’t even think they had done anything wrong.

This was after confirming twice with UHaul staff that an 18 Wheeler could drive on the property and use the loading dock and freight elevator to get my items to the fourth floor.The U-Haul manager went out of his way to troubleshoot what we could do with the truck and determined the best plan was to find another storage provider that had access for this large of a truck. He turned a bad situation into a positive experience for us even at the loss of my business. I also received a refund for the prepaid storage locker the same day which is pretty swift for a large business.
