I called the 833 UHAUL Number to establish a reservation number for a truck and for a storage unit to speed things up when I got to the UHAUL center. When I arrived I advised the attendent that I was there to rent a truck and to the attendant could not find my reservations, even though I had both numbers available for her. She searched and searched through several pages and after about 10 Mins she left and brought the manager back. The manager quickly walked her through the process. She started my process to complete the vehicle rental agreement, then got confused again and had to go and get the manager again. It was obvious that she was not aware of many sections of the form. I was getting frustrated as I arrived early so that I could meet my son to pick up articles for storage. The attendant kept looking at her phone during the transactions and was not familiar with all procedures on the form. When she finally finished the form about 25 mins later she wished me a good day. I reminded her that I also needed a storage unit. Then the process started over to obtain a storage unit. She searched for approximately 8 minutes and once again left to go get the manager. The manager came back and once again showed her where to find the available storage units. She eventually figured out the paperwork for a storage unit. Approximately 45 Mins after arrival, I finally completed the paperwork. She gave me a map of where the storage unit was and copies of my truck paperwork. As My sons house was only 3 mins away, we loaded the truck in about an hour and returned to search for the storage unit. The map was not clear as to exactly where the storage unit was located, so we drove around for a few mins trying to find the unit. Eventually we chased down a worker in the parking lot and he showed us the way to the unit. We unloaded the truck, and came back to the store to buy a lock. Locked up the storage unit and I went to turn in the truck, but of course each attendant was busy with other customers, so I waited approximately 10 mins, then decided to go and pull the truck directly in front of the entrance. At that time a young man came to me and said, are you returning and I said yes please, and he took my keys and told me thank you and advised me that he would send results of his inspection to my email. Calling the 833 UHAUL was easy and simple and the woman gave me reservation numbers for the truck and for the storage unit. Which I took to the store. The process at the store was frustrating and time consuming. I knew that the process would take about 15 to 20 mins to sign for the paperwork etc. But I did not expect to be there for almost an hour. The vehicle was clean and the storage unit was clean. The experience was good other than the attendant not being knowledgeable of the processes which frustrated me. The manager was outstanding and resolved every issue. I will use UHAUL again should I need the service, but hopefully a more speedier process. I would recommend that the attendant put cell phone away when a customer is standing in front of her. Not very professional to keep checking cell phone during process.

Apparently, our car trailer was not maintained or even looked at before they rented to us. The strap ratchet for the tires were very rusted and hardly worked. We had to lube it and wait for it to function.. A crank for the tongue barely work, and we also had to repair that. And the biggie. The tires were not inflated not even close to be properly.!!!! one tire had only 23 pounds in most tires had between 40 and 50 pounds in and recommendation was 65 pounds!!!

John L.I do not like the after hour check in. I spent about 30-40 minutes just trying to check the truck back in. I couldn't get the link from the barcode to work, then I downloaded the app and couldn't figure out how to check in on the app. So I decided to google how to check in and finally got to the right spot, but then after I took the picture it wouldn't let me continue to the next screen, so I had to finally click on a different link and it finally took me to the next screen. The entire process was frustrating due to connection issues and not knowing where to go in the ap to check in. I feel it is unfair to charge someone $20 based on them not doing that check in because of the technical difficulties surrounding trying to do it, plus taking up a lot of unnecessary time from a customer. I think instead of charging $20, give customers and incentive for doing the check in that way if they struggle their waisting there time because they want to not because they have to. My mother has also experienced difficulties with it and I'm sure there are more people who have had troubles with the self check in as well. Besides that my experience was great and the employees were very helpful and explained every step.

The Uhaul Uboxes saved me from having to rent a truck, drive 1100+ miles, try to find hotels that could accommodate a large truck in their parking area, and the ever increasing cost of fuel. Other than loading and unloading, Uhaul took care everything else. The staff that I dealt with were professional, friendly, and very accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend the Ubox service. The only improvement I would recommend is to put the packing blankets into reusable boxes/containers - it's a bear to get those blankets back into the flimsy plastic bag they come in, especially when you have to destroy the bag to open it because someone put a granny knot in the bag.
WARD D.Clean and inspect the trailers before you rent them out. The trailer I got. Had garbage Drug paraphernalia sticky ice cream stain on the floor. It was embarrassing when we opened the door and my family and friends saw the situation. We had to clean it out before putting anything in there. The parking and side marker lights was not working. When I brought it back. I told the gentleman that checked in the trailer in. The gentleman told me that they have a problem with homeless people sleeping in the trailers at night. The Gentleman also told me that it is my job to inspect the trailer. The young lady that hooked the trailer up when I got it. Was very nice. The only thing she did is to after hooking the trailer up was have me go through the lights check. She didn't say anything about the parking lights or the side marker lights. She also never told me that I had to open the door and do an inspection. Maybe I'm wrong to think that it is ok to trust U-Haul to give me a clean work trailer. I have never gone through this situation before at this location or any other location in the past

John L M.I rented a van on Friday to pick up the wood that would not fit in my car. Should have been easy, 20 bucks, zip there and back, done. First, checking in took ages because the person at the desk had 4 inch giant acrylic nails that clearly hampered her ability to do anything. The first van they tried to give me had no gas. This is truly baffling given something that happened later. They reluctantly swapped the van after I said I really don't want to deal with that (they wanted me to take the van, fill it up all the way, and they promised they'd reimburse me after it was checked back in....just....what). We went looking for the next van and a golf cart came by asking what we were looking for. At first it wasn't readily apparent these were other Uhaul employees as said golf cart was blasting rap music at pretty high volume and the two were bickering like a dysfunctional married couple. But they were nice and gave us a lift to find our van. That van had a flat tire. Not just low or flat, utterly obliterated and clearly been sitting like that for a while. So we went back to get another swap, which took 10 minutes or so. We went to find the new van and it was up against a fence with another van behind it. We went to get THAT van's key only to find it was missing. They discovered in trying to swap again that MANY keys were just missing, so they just grabbed every van key on hand and we went searching for a matching pair. When we finally did, they said don't worry, just go and we'll make the swap so you don't have to wait, you'll get a text with the modified reservation. I did get that text before we left the parking lot. Went to Lowes, came back, and handed the van off to literally the same two people who were in the golf cart who remembered me. They verified the gas tank was full (the needle was past the F), said I was all set and they'd email me the receipt. They even called me back because I forgot my Lowes receipt on the seat. Fast forward to Sunday when I get another email saying my reservation has been extended through to that evening. Rental periods are apparently by 24 hr period, not hourly. It seems no one actually checked in my van that night, so after Saturday 5:30pm passed it auto-extended and sent me an email overnight. So I call and no one answers, which forwards you to corporate, who did not believe me about any of this at first. They didn't believe their own employees would have deviated so far from procedure and been so haphazard in dealing with me with all the key swaps. All they did? Tried calling the store themselves, and when no one picked up were looped back to their own call center (i.e. just a waste of time). They said that's all they can do except email the manager and hope they deal with it. So helpful.... So Monday I wake up to a voicemail from the manager: So sorry, I've now checked in the van and you will ONLY be charged for the one rental period. I also have an email with a new receipt. I open it, see I'm charged for one day..and 6 gallons of gas, a full quarter tank. That calculation is predicated upon that tank being full when I got it. It also says I drove 16 miles total. So I burned SIX gallons of gas to go 16 miles? So I call and someone actually picks up. I explain the situation and they want me to physically come down and show them the photos. "I have a job and a life, I'm not wasting half of my day because of your mistake." They capitulated and promised it would be dealt with. Ten minutes later I got an email receipt showing ALL charges voided, and a chargeback on my card matching what I'd been charged at that point. So that's it, right? WRONG. Woke up today to more new charges. Another phone debacle to get that dealt with, and they couldn't even promise that was the end of it. I finally said delete my credit card info and account, there's no way I'm going back, after which the manager hung up on me. Fast forward to a week later, and once the dust settled on my credit card and the pile of pending transactions either went away or posted, I see that despite being told I was refunded for the entire rental, I still have a net charge of $57.73 for a 1 hour rental I returned with a full gas tank; looking at my order history on here, I'm STILL being charged for the full rental plus a quarter tank of gas (again, it was returned with the needle past the F). I contacted uhaul corporate and they gave me the run-around again, so I am finally done. I reported the charge to my credit card company as fraudulent, I'm done wasting my time and energy dealing with this incompetence. Take it up with my bank, morons.

Tequila D.I wanted to give this location 5 Stars but I can't. While it's convenient and the staff was friendly things did not go as expected. I have been a customer many years so I checked in online which should have made the process more seamless. I mentioned this at the desk, but it still took time to find my reservation. Once they found my info in the system, I had to wait for a vehicle which they determined was not available. The staff offered another vehicle, and I advised I needed a truck bed of at least 5ft. Upon inspection I realized it was not sufficient. We moved to another vehicle but was told the per mileage cost would be more. I asked to have the extra charge waived as the issue was not based on my reservation but due to the location not having the right vehicle. I was told it would be waived which I appreciated and told them as much. I returned the vehicle with more gas than it had at pick-up. No one was present at the dock for my drop-off. I went in and was directed back outside to leave it in the same drop-off area and told someone was out there to assist me. I had to go back to their garage area and a young man told me to leave the key inside. Not feeling assured that was safe, I went back inside to let Nathaniel know I was leaving the key in the cupholder. The entire process took more time than I had planned for this project but again grateful as the prior location I used did not have the vehicle I needed. While reviewing my receipt this morning I see that I was still charged the extra per mileage fee. Please note the extra $3.30 is not my main concern it's the principle of not keeping the agreement as well as starting the experience well and not making sure it also ends well in terms of the drop-off. I am thankful that this location was available but I would like them to be mindful of keeping their commitment to their customers in the future. Thank you.

I was forced to get a smaller unit and then go store the rest of my belongings elsewhere. I reserved the size unit I needed and the facility was not prepared for my Reservation. This is bad service. Why would I be able to make a reservation and the facility not prepare and deliver? I am not happy with this outcome.

She proceeded to give me unit that was locked from previous day. It showed her that paperwork and her coworker told her that I was correct. 4th- she went back and checked it to make sure this time it was correct. 1 moved everything from smaller unit to the new bigger unit. 5th- went back to double check everything and tell them unit was changed over. Turned out code was same as someone else and causing problems. Changed code with 4th agent. End result- I was given 1 free month for all of my troubles. That is appreciated. Part this could have been prevented by a simple walk back to check Unit. I even heard the supervisor ask why they didn't check on 1st day. I am not sure what happened with 2nd transaction.

Desiree C. | Overall ExperienceI first reserved a storage unit via the Uhaul website at BP Moving & Storage in Palm Bay, Florida. I received confirmation of my reservation via email - all good. I then called BP about a week in advance to ask if everything was set. The person replied that it was set - great! Then, as I'm moving from Minnesota and stopping late at night, I reviewed my emails and noticed my storage unit had been cancelled! WHAT ????#$(@* I am in route with a 20 foot Uhaul truck and my unit is now cancelled? I called the 1-800 UHAUL number and explained the situation. They told me I had rented from an "affiliate" location and there was nothing they could do about that cancellation (remember, I had reserved ON the UHAUL WEBSITE). So, now I"m really annoyed, but the nice customer service person found me another unit in Palm Bay at a different facility. Great. Then, as I'm moving in a day later, I get a call from BP Moving and Storage, all upset and angry that I am not showing up at their location! Now, I'm not very happy about this at all and told the gentleman that the problem is with the UHaul organization or whomever generated the email cancelling my unit! He was not very nice. I can understand why he is upset. Buyer beware - I'd recommend staying away from the affiliate locations because the communication is very poor. Go with a Uhaul corporate location if at all possible.

I also had a hard time locating the unit. The layout is confusing, and it is quite a way from the entrance. It is unclear how and when to enter the access codes, especially on a Sunday when it was considered after hours. I finally figured it out. The unit was clean when I arrived, and after the initial frustrations all went well with the move in.

I had to settle for a 10x10. After completing paper work I went to my new unit only to find it already had a lock on it and a notice saying it had been evicted due to non payment. I then went back and told the associate, who then had me walk back to the unit to confirm what I had told her. Upon arriving back at the check out area I was told they didn't have another unit and they could offer me a 10x8. I reluctantly accepted it because I needed a unit and wanted one at this location since it was convient for me. After going to the unit I realized I would not be able to fit all of my furniture in such a small unit. I notice another unit with a green tag that looked to be the size of a 10x10. So upon arriving back at the check out for a 3rd time I asked for a refund and acquired about the other unit I had seen. The women looked it up and found out that even though the last person had cleared all of thier things out uhal never actually took them off of the unit. That's why it wasn't showing as available. She called the previous customer to confirm they had closed out account and after talking to th gentleman told me they could offer me that unit. I had to settle for a smaller unit but was happy that I had one. After arriving home and a couple hours later I received a call from uhal. I was told that when they kept switching the units from a 10x10 to a 10x8 then again to a 10x10 they refunded me back to much money and needed me to return to the location to give them back the 31 dollars they had given me. I understand mistakes happen but after all I had been through to then ask me to drive back to the location was unprofessional. It was there mess up and they should have owned up to it and taken the loss. Especially after making me wait in line 4 times and having to basically tell them about a storage unit that was available. If it wasn't for the fact that the facility is well lit clean and convientet and the fact that I am also getting a truck from this location, I would have had no issue getting my money back and going to another storage company. Staff was friendly but my experience was unprofessional and disorganized. A big let down from a company I have used many times before.

So we ended up having to get regular storage lockers. After about 7 months of storage it was time to move into our home. We found that there was a small leak in one of our units that allowed small amounts of water in. But it was enough to rust our refrigerator, mold our newer couches, mold our large(expensive) Turkish rugs, and also cause damage to our cherrywood dresser(also not cheap), and also molded our dining room chairs (total of 6 that will need reupholstered or replaced). We haven’t gotten into the rest of the boxes yet, but expect to find more damage. My suggestion would be get insurance and photos prior to moving your stuff in and after…

jacquelin m. | Overall ExperienceU-haul screwed me up and down all day. (Location 1): My original reservation to store my goods was for an 8x16 at a facility in the Eau Gallie area. That original facility did not even have that size unit on site and all of their largest units were full. They sent me 20 minutes south to Palm Bay (Location 2) where I received a 10x10 unit - a smaller unit than I originally reserved. After packing it as tight as possible and not being able to fit everything, I drove back up north to a family member's home to store the rest of my items. As originally planned, I then went to the conveniently located U-Haul facility around the corner (Location 3) where the drop off my 26' truck was originally scheduled only to learn that the Palm Bay facility (now 25 min back in the other direction) had changed my truck's drop off location without telling. They claimed the truck for their location. (Location 3) Service tech told me they couldn't fit my truck to begin with in their parking lot and to go to the Sarno/Apollo drop off location. (Location 4) I then spent 25 minutes on the phone with customer service to have my drop off location changed without incurring a hefty penalty for "Wrong Drop-Off Location". They were helpful and changed my drop off to Location 4. Upon return of my truck I was chagred $40 for gas because i was a fraction of a needle's width lower than my required fill up level BECAUSE UHAUL HAD ME DRIVING ALL AROUND BREVARD COUNTY. I was just going to forget about it and move on but I've been bombarded with emails every other day asking for a review. Here it is. You burned my entire day and cost me who knows how much money. 0/10 U-Haul has not been cooperative in resolving any disputes prior to me leaving this feedback. I will be loading up another 26' truck and taking it to Jacksonville in 3 weeks. Generous monetary compensation is absolutely deserved after what they put me through but I'm not getting my hopes up.
