I have some concerns about how my wiring was installed. Wiring is hanging freely under my car, about 1-2" from the underside of my car. The wiring plug in the rear of my vehicle is in the trunk, and I have to close my rear hatch on it when plugged into a trailer. Not sure if this is the best installation.

Customer Service was terrible. Not only did I have to find my own truck, when I found the one I was rented it was parked at another location and behind 2 other uhaul trucks. Had to walk back to the office to let the “Manager of the place” at least that’s what he calls himself, Blake know this. He decides to wait on other customers while I’m waiting on him. Then he rents me another truck at the other location that just walked back from. On top of all this. My wife was called several days earlier in regards to this one way trip to see if we would consider pulling a trailer to our destination and would get a discount for the burden. We said yes, however Blake “The Manager of The Place” said that he had not been communicated to and he wouldn’t do this. He basically called my wife a liar and I did not approve of the way he handle this transaction. Eric was the person that contacted my wife and he works for UHAUL. I have rented uhaul trucks in the past but this has left a sour taste in our mouths and we will think twice about renting uhaul or at least from this location ever again.

The cargo area in our 15' truck was very dirty and had not been swept out at all; there was dirt, lint, and leaves. The back furniture railing was broken yet still attached, posing a hazard to those loading the Mom's Attic area. The glove box was broken and held on very poorly with two different kinds of packing tape. The truck had noticable transmission issues, running at or above 3000rpm most of the trip, despite maintaining a modest speed of 60mph. The check in process was easy and pleasant, but we had to wait almost 45 minutes for service since there was only one person staffed at the desk. Although she was doing a fantastic job! She kept a cool head and got us in and out quickly with a smile.

Maybe have more U-HAUL employees at the front fir more help in getting customers a moving truck. I was second in line right at opening on a Sunday morning and I waited 45 minutes to be seen. Other than that, it was overall good!

Rainwater leaked into the truck overnight on our upholstered furniture and boxes in a truck from this location. We originally requested a truck in Clermont, GA, close to our homes. That got changed to further away and when we arrived at Meineke, a 15 foot truck was there, not a 20 foot as requested, and the location was closed due to a medical issue with the U-haul person. We selected counter pick-up and weren't prepared for picking up the truck with our phone, so we had to drive 30 more miles and hope to get a truck since they didn't answer the phone. We were given a discount after complaining, but the person became very angry and unprofessional, because we explained our bad experience this time. Didn't ask for anything.

Using the app to check out the truck was taking so long, an employee took pity on me and did it the old fashioned way. He is the sole reason I’m not giving the location a Poor rating. When I reported back to return the truck, I could hear 2 employees speaking, but no one came out to assist me. I finally checked out through the app. The “Dropbox” for the keys is an open area so I wasn’t leaving them there. As I was about to walk back inside, an employee finally appeared to take possession of the keys. The whole experience was subpar.

This place was great. Three days prior I reserved from a neighborhood Uhaul location in Dahlonega. Showed up on time and no one was there. Called, waited, and then called the main Uhaul number who told me they were open and wondered if I was in the right place. After passing their inquisition it was determined I was in the right place and all she could do is apologize. No $50 back to me as their guarantee suggests. Don’t believe the guarantee. Rent from a sold Uhaul location. If they don’t have what you want, don’t reserve anywhere else. Uhaul, get better control of your locations. Inventory sets there and they are unable to get the job done.

Already reported issue. Followed signs for equipment drop off. There was a trailer at drop off from a previous customer. I said I was dropping the trailer and the Assistant manager told me I couldn’t drop it there it needed to go to upper lot, I said trailer was in the way so how was I supposed get it there? He told me to back it up 200’ through parking lot. Said no somebody else dropped that trailer why couldn’t he unhook mine. He finally unhooked it and pushed it into parking spot it was only a 5x8 all the time telling me how difficult I was being. Bottom line terrible customer service.

U-Haul International, Inc. Executive Office Joe Shoen 2727 N Central Ave Phoenix, AZ 85004 Reservation #: 91515874 Dear Mr. Shoen and/or the team responding to this request. I hope this letter finds you well. I am a long time happy customer that has used U-Haul for many of my own moves since high school, to now many of the moves I have made to support my children, the last of whom graduated in Savannah this month. The reason for this note is that the experience in Savannah this week was highly unusual and I would like to bring this matter to your attention in the hope of a resolution. On June 24th I reserved a 10-foot from U-Haul located in Savannah at Skidaway Auto Repair near my daughter’s house in Savannah. This was changed to be picked up at a new address in Port Wentworth, GA via text message on the 23rd. Everything was the same and I confirmed via your website, it just had the vehicle in this city (nearby) instead of Savannah. Unfortunately, my experience with your company fell significantly short of normal expectations. I encountered multiple issues throughout the rental process, which not only inconvenienced me but also caused unnecessary stress, delays and additional charges for our moving team that was going to work with us Saturday afternoon from 3pm to 6pm. There was no-one at U-Haul in Port Wentworth when we arrived, which was no worry as this was a mobile check out. When I clicked on the link to check out it said I needed to go inside to obtain additional equipment. I called the number and let them know no-one was inside and I would like to check out. I was placed on hold for nearly 20 minutes and was then hung up on. My reservation number was my cell phone number, but the U-Haul operator never called me back. I called again and asked that they contact me with my cell phone if we were disconnected and was on hold for about 20 minutes after providing my cell number and the confirmed reservation info. There was a 10 foot truck and a 15 foot truck in the lot, but apparently they did not have DC numbers on their truck numbers so they could not rent them for me. So, after confirming that they could not rent us a truck (even with a confirmed reservation number) I asked them to look at other sites. After a while they shared they could not reserve a truck at all in the area of any size. This was about 45 minutes into the call. I asked if there was someone I could speak with and after holding a bit more they said I could talk to the traffic department. They gave me the number and after a few minutes I was on hold with traffic. Shared all the confirmed reservation details and that they could not get a truck for us. After a while they shared that we could get one in far south Georgia in Townsend, GA, about an hour south one way. So we took that truck and drove an hour south to Townsend. When we arrived the person at the counter did not know what to do and said we needed to talk with the owner as they would not allow a mobile pickup. They did not have a 10-foot truck there, but it was a 15-foot truck, but the cost was just over a hundred dollars more than our original reservation with a total of $479. So they got the owner on the line and I explained the situation and the troubles we have been through, then she had to get someone else on the line. Again, on hold for about 30 minutes just to get the original cost agreed to and be on our way. As this was going on we had two movers show up to our door in Savannah as we had a confirmed reservation just down the street from my Daughter’s house. We let them know we would not be able to move Saturday as we have to now drive to Townsend so we gave them $100 for their service for the two of them as a no show. So we had a confirmed reservation that was moved that was not able to give to us. Then we had to drive an hour south to finally get a truck and drive back Saturday night. I would like to share the the customer service I received from the traffic team in Savannah was great, while others (especially the first one that disconnected from us and did not call back) was far from satisfactory. Their lack of empathy and willingness to assist in resolving the issues for the confirmed reservation we faced on my initial calls until we reached the traffic person only added to my frustration. As a loyal U-Haul customer who has utilized your services more then 20 occasions, I am disappointed by this experience. I believe that a company of your stature should strive to provide exceptional customer service and have a truck ready when it was reserved and confirmed the day prior. In light of the aforementioned issues, I kindly request a full refund along with the $100 needed to pay the movers we did not use. Thank you. Robert Elz, 770-262-3841

I waited in the lobby for 43 minutes with not a soul on site. After about 25 minutes I rang the service bell a few times, still nothing. About 15 minutes later a mechanic came in and told me the service rep would be in shortly… he was not. The first month was supposed to be free as I had also rented a truck through u haul…. It was not. I set up a 4 digit access code, went back up the hill to begin unloading my things, the code would not work. I went back down the hill and made a new code that finally allowed me access. The whole process was miserable. I did not even get so much as a “my bad man we are super busy” when the service rep finally came in. And the fact that I was still charged for the first month is absolutely ridiculous. If I could give zero stars I would.

The only thing we struggled with was the cost. We had this unit a little over 6 years when my mom went into a nursing home and never came out. I wish there was some sort of discount for us who need long term storage needs. But overall, it was a great place to store our possessions.

I had sent several checks that never got processed by uhaul causing me to have to pay late fees. Then the rates almost doubled. This was absolutely awful. I will tell people to just sell their stuff and avoid storage units. You can buy new stuff and avoid all the hassle.

Not going to sugarcoat it. The manager at this site is probably the most unhappy man I have ever met. More than once I witnessed him be demeaning and even straight-up rude to his employees. When I first started using a unit, the check was a process and the young lady helping through it was struggling, instead of helping her, he yelled at her for not being knowledgeable and even went so far as to belittle her right in front of me, my parents, and other people in the room. every time I have been to the facility since then, he has been there and had something to ornery about. This last month it came to a head for me, and a few other people whom I met that were stored there, we all chose to pull our items from here. We did this because all of us got a late charge on cards that we usable, but U-Haul failed to charge the card. I argued that is an error on their part, as I would have no way of knowing they were having issues if they didn't 1. pick up the phone, 2. send an alert email. Ridicules is the only way I can describe it because even if you try to reason with the manager here about any issue, he throws it back on you or his employees.

The facility itself and the location are good, however the management at this location has some issues. I believe his name was Blake, and he has a few new associate working with him from the looks of it, and they were needing some assistance in taking care of my storage need. The associate helping me was having computer difficulties, and he was extremely short with her, attempting to brush her off several times, diminish her in front of me and my family, and belittle her. This in my opinion is not acceptable, and he needs training on how to handle leadership in the workplace. To the credit of the young lady helping me, she was able to set me up with a storage unit, and even was kind enough to bring us a few carts to move thing in. Over all, and while I don't think I will need the unit very long, I wouldn't recommend this site for storage or rentals until the some retraining has taken place.

There were so many rental trucks and trailers in the parking area near our unit that it was sometimes difficult to maneuver our own truck to get near the building entrance. There was a water leak in our unit which damaged some of our books. The damage was not enough to file a claim or open a dispute, but we still experienced a loss. Hopefully the leak has been repaired.

The staff aren’t particularly friendly. I have been with your facility for more than two years and though it’s convenient and clean, I find that any questions or concerns I have with the facility, billing etc., I’m met with no answer or made to be felt an inconvenienced. I have been a business owner for ten years and am convinced that our success is due specifically to our customer service, not just the excellent product we provide. Not everyone there is this way however, most are. I contribute this to the contagion of one bad apple. In my experience with my employees, an employee with a poor attitude is typically spreads and can become adopted as “the way we treat customers”. Just my thoughts. Happy New Year!

The access panels didn't work to unlock the doors or disarm the units. The doors were just propped open & my card didn't work to disarm my unit: when I called the front desk they just said "yeah it does that. Just leave the door to your unit open & the alarm will stop"... What?! How in the world are propped open doors & a 10 second alarm supposed to make me confident in the security of the facility?

When our lock "went missing" U Haul called and asked if they could put one of their locks on our unit and we agreed. But when the time came for us to clean out our unit no one could find the key to the lock they had put on! They had to call someone to come cut the lock off then tried to charge us $50 to have the lock cut off!

I reserved unit 2009, but when I went to the unit to move stuff in it had been taken. I called the girl working on the internal and she came up to the building to see right away. She wasn't sure if the prior person had moved everything out and there was a lock still on it. So she instantly put me in one that was empty across from 2009. She got a broom and dust pan and cleaned it out for me and I got to move in right then. She had excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
