Thomas PKeep doing what you are doing. I'm bad with names but all 3 of your employee's 1 in training met my every need from start to finish. That's why I also used U-HAUL for my storage needs.

Scott BThe tire pressure on two of the tires (there are 4) were 15 lbs low. I found this out after I had the 2007 Ford Explorer Sport-Trac loaded and headed back home and the trailer started to fishtail. I am VERY experienced at towing so I knew what this meant and how to attempt to regain control of my vehicle. I very slowly and carefully drove to Home Depot and purchased a portable compressor and made sure that all 4 tires were at the correct pressure according to the side of the tires, 65 lbs. After returning the trailer, your employee was very understanding and polite and didn't try to blow it off like some people might have done. I used to own my own auto repair shop for 40 years so I knew how to handle this situation. Your employee handled this very well. With so many vehicles and equipment at this location, I can see how easy it would be for this to happen.

The one problem was that the storage unit leaked from the ceiling - some of the fasteners and seams it looked like. Some of our stuff got wet/damp. Not ruined - although a large rug smells from the damp and we’ll need to get it cleaned. But the truck was good.

Frederick TAlthough the equipment was clean, there was a foul odor inside the truck that lasted for several hours even with the windows open to air it out. Beyond that, I always have an excellent experience when renting from this location.
Dell TFirst opened by storage unit to find a U-Haul employee already inside. It was creepy but he said you guys always did inspections before handing over a new unit. I didn’t think much of the fact that he was covered in bubble wrap until he handed me a push pin and told me to get poppin’. I’m personally terrified of the sound of bubble wrap popping stemming from a childhood trauma where I broke my aunt’s Ming Vase Will trying to wrap it and pack it into a moving box (she had to move out of her lifelong house after her husband filed for divorce — it was messy; she was sleeping with the mailman, who was his brother). After I broke the vase my aunt made me consume 2 yards off bubble wrap without even a Coke to wash it down. To this day even the sight of bubble wrap (or Ming vases) sends me into a cold sweat. Not impressed, U-Haul.

odell sI had been a customer sinice 2018 when my mom moved in with me I had always paid my unit 2-3 months ahead. My mom passed is December 2023 so I had to clean her unit out. I rented a truck and cleaned it out February 17, 2024. I went inside to return the key and ask for money back since it was not at the end of the month and I was told we don’t retro active units and I could not get 12 days of money back. I am very upset because of the customer I had been with my rent! I guess being a good customer/tenant doesn’t account for anything!!! I guess maybe $50 back would hurt your pockets!!!!

They inform you to use your cell phone to document the condition of the rentals upon pick up and return. Technology is great however why not assist the customer in person and represent the UHaul brand in a positive light. Don’t just simply say take photos and that will be c amount of money.

I prepaid, but was told the new part was more, wasn't much, but it bothered me that I actually had to pay it, since I had to make two trips, and it wasn't my mistake.

The gentleman behind the counter was very patient and fixed everything I messed up. Your representative even went out in the blustery and frigid temperatures to direct me towards where my truck was; I had misheard where he told me to look and when he noticed I was off azimuth, he left the warmth of the office, caught up to me and directed me to my truck. My experience was incredibly positive and I would recommend this site be recognized for its above and beyond customer service.

eddie sI am only rating average due to the fact that the area where my unit was located floods when it rains, I had several items at the front of my unit that ended up water logged and had to be thrown away and there was a large amount of wet sand that came in under the door. I did mention this to the staff (who has always been excellent) but, I was kind of put off by the fact that the employee responded by saying "we know, it's sediment, we need to have more hauled in and have it leveled out." So, you know that your buildings are leaking which leads to ruined items, that concerned me. But, if that problem was fixed, it is a great location, convenient to the highway and easy to access the buildings.

If employee on a different shift had parked the truck the night before without informing the other employees. The next shift would not be able to know where the next day rentals are located.

Dwayne B | Overall ExperienceWe had our camper stored at this uhaul on 301 for 4 years. Our RV was stolen from this facility on January 2023. We were not contacted about this theft. We only found out it was missing when we went to load it for a mini vacation in October of this year. This Uhaul has had many thefts which makes me wonder what security you have in place. Furthermore they do not take ownership of the thefts simply stating "we are not responsible for thefts....etc. we are beginning to think these are inside jobs as I'm personally aware of 3 thefts within 8 months. And to work with their insurance company and adjusters are a real joke. We cannot even pursue other replacement options because you have incompetent people in the chain that can't get denial letters correct, wrong claim #, and even wrong dates of occurrence. Trust me.....run and run fast from this facility. The only thing they did for us was give our storage fee back for 10 months. I guess that was compensation to us for not contacting us from the beginning.

After loading the rental truck all day, and having to rent an additional tow trailer I was unable to tow my car as planned. I was offered a rental unit because I was a one-way move. It was late when I arrived at the storage unit only to find my car didn’t fit. I contacted U-Haul 1-800 as the office was closed. I asked to leave my vehicle parked in the parking lot. I was informed this is not allowed. This was a total fiasco, trying to locate a place for my vehicle at night. At no time was I told that the unit would not fit a vehicle even when I stated that’s what I would be placing in the unit for approximately a week. This delayed my leave as I searched a place for my vehicle. This required me to park my vehicle in a sketchy area on the street with flashers on as it would have been locked in the parking lot at 10:00pm when the gates closed. I located a place to park the truck and then returned for the car. At no time was I informed they DO NOT secure vehicles at this site. This DELAYED my departure requiring a hotel stay, only to wake in the morning to a flat tire. I returned to the same U-Haul to have the flat repaired further delaying my trip. I requested compensation and received a 63 mile credit! I was not given additional time, or credit for my inconvenience. I will be discussing this further with U-Haul.

When I arrived at this storage facility on 28 Jan 2023. I was told that the unit (#156) that I reserved had been leased to another customer. Unacceptable! No good reason was given for this mistake. I was forced to lease a larger storage unit (10X15) at a higher cost. I intentionally visited this office the week prior on a trip to Fayetteville to ensure the unit was active an assigned to me. It was assigned to me on my this visit. When return with all my furniture from Florida. This unit was no longer reserved and was assigned to another customer. Richard

This week they broke into our RV along with SEVERAL others damaging the doors and stealing just about anything from spare tires to license plates. This facility has terrible security measures in place.

John S | Overall ExperienceWe’d just arrived into town from a drive from Arkansas to North Carolina. We’d utilized your Sanford,NC location for two units whose service was AMAZING! Got to last of our unpack and it was after hours and had to return the truck in Fayetteville, NC location so we needed a smaller unit to finish up. We were tired to say the least. The young lady was very nonchalant, didn’t explain much, pointed to the building of the unit, and was just very matter of fact asking for the payment for the lock. Versus the other location that escorted us to both units, showed us how to use the keypads to swipe, took great care to get us units as close as possible together, they were extremely accommodating, my reservation wouldn’t pull up and they still took care of Us. I usually don’t do a bad review. I don’t even expect to be overwhelm by customer service attention. But at the least greet your customers, facilitate their needs, explain your policies or best practices to the consumer and not make them feel like their presence in an aggrevation. And when asked a question? “Ion’t know” is an unprofessional response. If you don’t want to work in the public don’t get a job servicing the public. Because without the consumer choosing your establishment there’d be no need for the CSR. Many companies are going digital to kiosk usage. To be employed is a privilege. But thank you U-Haul for the truck the got us moved all the way from Arkansas to NC safely.

The reservations where made a week in advance- however they got messed up. Truck wasnt booked for Friday as requested rather saturday… which requested in several calls To get things corrected and ended up getting a 26 foot truck instead of the 20 requested which for the record horrible gas milage…unit was supposed to be reserved for Saturday but i stead was charge and “moved into” immediately. I pulled things together but overall horrible experience. The cashier and manger where very pleasant when refunding the unit- but considering the circumstances some monetary adjustments would have been appropriate as the reservations for the entire move had been made there and everything was wrong. Also when requesting a call about the “move in” issue a call was requested and never received a call from this location.

khalil M | Overall ExperienceI paid money thinking my RV was secure because of the high fence surrounding the lot, the security cameras, and access only by key fob. Imagine my shock when I cranked up my RV and it sounded like a jet plane reviving its engines. Yes, my catalytic converter had been stolen. When I went to the office, no one seemed to know anything, including if this had happened to other customers, if the security cameras were reviewed and monitored, or if a security person ever checked the lot. My $1500 theft was met with blank stares and indifference. As I was standing there, I observed the camera monitor appeared scrambled - my first clue that security was a low priority. Then I walked to the back fence. It is heavily overgrown, making it easy for someone to enter and exit completely obscured from the cameras. The final nail in the coffin was the actual service technician who stated that “8 to 10 catalytic converters have been stolen from that very lot in the last several months.” One guy had his RV repaired, returned it to the lot, and two weeks later was hit again. Really? And there has been no change in security protocols? Surely even a company in business to make a profit cannot find this an acceptable business model. A night watchman would not be out of the question. I have to wonder how many RVs sitting there don’t even know yet that they have been vandalized. As for me, I’ll take my chances with my RV sitting under a tree in my yard.
Danny L | Overall ExperienceIssue came when moving out. I rented a truck from this location so I can load my unit and go. Drove from the apartment to the uhaul store to be told they moved my reservation to another location. Makes no scense I had to pay by the mile and had to go elsewhere for my truck. That not being the worst, when I drove to the new location the stated no trucks were available. Really waisting more time because of someone’s inabilities. Than had to call the first place to yet again be sent further away to another uhaul which now put more time and miles on my car just to have to drive a uhaul back to my original spot 5 miles from my house and ad cost to my rental This added at minimum and extra 60 miles to my total as the original location was five miles from my house and the new once was around 17 Long story short waisted half and day and 100 between gas miles and personal cars gas getting the run around When discussing this to the location I got the oh well attitude. So no I won’t use nor recommend uhaul when there are other options!

I’ve seen and heard on several occasions of me being there talking on the other side of my unit but when I drive around no doors are open nor cars visible near the talking and people that have an access card walk in and out the gate straight to the road. And I had more dirt than the outside in my unit.

cruz l | First ImpressionsEverything was fine except the cost it's too high in my opinion I found another unit somewhere else that is twice the size and cost less much less than what I was paying at uhaul so if I was to rate my experience from 1 to 10 ten being awesome I would rate it a 5 because cost matters a lot if you on a fixed income and I only get SSI I struggled every month to pay my storage fee so I will not use or recommend uhaul to my friends and family
Donna C | Overall ExperienceI rented a truck for our move which they informed me a qualified me for a month of free storage so I went ahead and opted for that decision $100 later I realized I never received a Free month so when contacting the facility it took me speaking to a higher up manager because the staff there that excepted my payment informed me there was nothing they can do now after speaking with the manager she said she would credit me the following month being August when I was settled in around 20 August I realized I had charges of $165 on my account now mind you I had already paid the first months rent upon getting keys for the facility it took me three days just to get in touch with somebody who had professionalism every time I called I received no greeting or was immediately thrown on hold I even waited 35 minutes on hold just to be rudely hung up on when I finally got a callback was when I received an email stating I was behind on charges and I replied saying until I spoke with somebody I was not going to make any payments finally a manager reached out to me and did her job if the customer service and lack of professionalism wasn’t enough we only had our things in storage for less than two months and brought an ant problem into our home thanks to it no matter where you are around the entire facility there is no pest control there are bugs and spiders everywhere we’ve had storage units in the past so I’m familiar with the pest control precautions that clearly this facility does not take into consideration I would not recommend this facility Being placed in Fayetteville is not an excuse to have Tacky unprofessional demeanor.

The morning I was to take possession of the unit, I was informed that a man from Alaska came in and needed a unit ASAP. They gave him my unit. I was furious! They gave me a larger unit that was not air conditioned and was $40 more expensive per month. They gave me a small discount that month as a consolation. I was clearly dissatisfied. The manager did not care. Since then, my monthly rent has increased several times. I donated most contents just to get rid of this unit. I do not care for how this situation was handled, and I am thankful to be done with it.

Tinessa, Vernon, and some other guy seemed like a new employee, who apparently was off work after checking me into the unit. First, I was told that my contract was not correct for a one-way (one month free) rental of a 10x10 storage unit, so I paid for the 10x10 unit and then called the person who issued the contract to have it corrected. Then, I was told it would not qualify even if it was corrected to a one way by both Vernon and Tinessa because the distance has to be more than 100 miles from where I was moving, but then that changed to 50 miles a few minutes later, and that the distance was between store locations and not moving locations, not at all what I thought the original contract was for. After several minutes of trying to fix the issue, I was then informed by Tinessa that once the unit was rented out that I couldn't be refunded. I hadn't even put anything in the unit yet!! Honestly, if I'd know that half my day was going to be wasted arguing over one month of free rent on a storage unit, I would have just rented a larger one somewhere else for what I paid here. I will be needing another U-haul in the near future, but I will not be revisiting this location again.
