Bryce SReservation was confirmed at another Uhaul location several days in advance - 15 minutes prior to the reservation, I received a call from that location that the equipment was not actually available at that location and I'd need to call the 1-877 UHAUL line to find my own replacement (note: no "reservation guarantee" was offered or even mentioned, and the individual who called made no attempt to help find the equipment; rather, they simply pointed to the 1-877 number for me to call...). At this location, insurance fees were added to both truck and car trailer, although I'd never consented to adding either - I provided all requested information and completed all forms prior to equipment pickup (at which time my truck and trailer were "guaranteed" at the previous location, which ultimately didn't have it) and then insurance was added at the time of pick up. Shady business practices - not happy with service or fees and would not recommend

Donald hI figured out your game U-Haul. I reserved a furniture dolly 2 weeks in advance but you mysteriously did not have one available to rent the day I came to pick up the truck (except a broken one which your manager informed me, “does not roll”). I find it INTERESTING that a $6 billion company can’t find a rental dolly with 2 weeks notice. You had plenty of dollies available for purchase, however. Very INTERESTING indeed. To be completely fair, you let me use the hand trucks for free (after I asked), but wouldn’t let me rent one of your “for purchase only” furniture dollies. I would bet a rental furniture dolly (these are highly valuable and very rare, and not to be confused with a purchase-only dolly) that U-Haul makes a lot of money on people who need that furniture dolly but a $7 rental isn’t available. But not to worry! U-Haul will sell you a dolly for $21!! That’s margin, baby. I see your game, U-haul and I respect it; you are an excellent example of late stage capitalism. Also the truck was spacious and surprisingly good on gas. Thanks
John GTruck needs to be ready to go at the time scheduled. Truck was in poor condition both head lights and grill were damaged. Truck hard shifted even when truck was not under load. I ordered several things to have ready in the truck for pick up which were not in the truck ready to go on arrival. Not having moving blankets and the Dollie’s I ordered made my move an absolute terrible! Will not use U-Haul again

Without him stepping in, we would have continued to go in circles with corporate who was unable to provide a helpful response. We greatly appreciate his excellent customer service and assistance.

Christopher CThere were some areas of light exterior damage to the truck which had not yet been marked with UHaul stickers acknowledging their existence before I picked up the truck. It wasn't an issue whatsoever, because I notified the attendant as I was checking things over, and he said as long as I took photos to have a timestamp on my phone, everything would be cool (which it was), but I hate always having to go through that extra step and worry about protecting myself. It happens nearly every time I rent from UHaul. That's the whole point of having those stickers, is to mark preexisting damage. It's such an easy thing to take care of so the customer has one less thing to worry about, and yet it is almost never fully taken care of.
Daniel WJacob Bowman is a Saint at this location! I had a small issue that came up at the last minute. They close at 5pm and it was literally the last min, but I really needed this uhaul that night! This young man offered to wait with me and help resolve my issue so I could get this uhaul that night..And he apologized to me for this small issue I had, OMG! This young man is an amazing employee and U-haul should feel very lucky to have him working for them! Jacob, your manager needs to give you the highest raise possible because you are an absolute Saint as far as I'm concerned. To improve this U-haul, hire more Jacob Bowmans'!!

Thibault GBefore recommending I would caution anyone that you may think you’re renting a certain type of equipment but that doesn't mean you’ll receive it. I rented a Sprinter-style van but received a cargo van that was designed in the 1980’s.

Adam KI rent from this location 1-2 times a month. On this trip I got a van. Van was very dirty inside cab. Was told it was brought back the night before. It had noticeable damage on it. Was very dirty and had literally no gas in it. I was told it had no gas and to go by gas station next door before I left on my trip. I was given a credit of $15 and was told to bring back at 1/4 tank. $15 got me to 1/8th a tank. When I returned the van, the manager on duty wasn't very helpful. Even though he saw how bad the van was on outside, how dirty it was on inside, wouldn't give me additional credit toward fuel even when tried to show him proof. Just all around bad experience on this trip!

There was a q-tip from the previous users that had so much ear wax on it that it was sticking to the wall. The insulation inside looks like it will give you asbestos. The move in process wasn’t smooth at all because there’s a huge bump that you have to get over to even get into the facility.

His explanation was that he is the manager of that location and he doesn't work like other managers at other locations and he would be loosing money by giving me a free month. Very disappointing

Because the online reservation system 'crashed,' I was unable to complete my check-in online. Then, on two further occasions - one over the phone and one in-person - my reservation got lost for whatever unknown reasons. Fortunately, the third try was a success, and by the stroke of luck they still had a unit available for me, otherwise I would have been S.O.L. with a truckload full of stuff. Apart from all of this, the storage unit itself was fine, and the people were friendly.

I was afraid we were going to loose them but the management was incredibly compassionate and generous and allowed us to retain the contents of our unit and we are extremely grateful for their kindness. Would reccomend for anyone needing storage. Rent was a good rate too! Thank you! If I had any suggestions it would be to mention that the smallest truck doesn't have a ramp. It is my fault for not reading the info thoroughly but I imagine this happens frequently enough that it is worth noting... again thank you very very much!

I returned the truck a day early. The employee says oh yeah you did I don't know why this is here we will refund you. 3 weeks later no refund. Everytime I call the store no one wants to help me. U haul is in the business of ripping people off. Wont be using them ever again.

I found the climate controlled area to be uncomfortably hot and the cart by the door was missing a wheel. The unit itself was in good shape but the floor was dirty (found a loose nail) and the rodent trap was unsettling.

I had movers cancel on me at the last minute and needed somewhere to store my personal belongings until movers were available. I liked the fact that the unit was inside. The staff was excellent at providing my access card and lock and key. The unit itself was clean and very easy to access. When it was time to turn everything back in I had no trouble at all. The staff was friendly fast and efficient. If I were to ever have this situation occur again I would not hesitate to rent another unit.

When we finished putting our things in the unit, the other young man who checked us out was nice enough to get the truck and back it out for me. Recommend this U-Haul site if you need to rent a truck or a storage unit.

Miki S | Overall ExperienceVery unprofessional. Over priced. My unit was ransacked and items like a bookcase belonging to my grandfather stolen. Due to the gate being broken for five months. Units full of mouse/rat excrement & urine. Everything stored had to be thoroughly cleaned before moving into our home, resulting in a extremely costly expense. Very difficult to move around facility due to U-haul moving trucks parked haphazardly along the sides and in the rows leading to the storage unit. I definitely do NOT recommend unless you're desperate. The storage facility I use now is locked, video cameras record each vehicle. And your time you open & close the gate until you open & close to leave is recorded. Only one vehicle can enter at a time and the units are clean. For a lot less money. Thank goodness I no longer have to use the storage facility at 529 Wade Hampton Blvd! One more thing, the largest unit they offer is 10 x 15. If you have a full 26 ft. truck you'll need two units. And that's with professional people packing each unit neatly and using every bit of space. Two units cost $289.90 every month, with vermin infested, hard to get to, no security, etc. Decide for yourself, but I won't use them again.

The first room I rented had fiber panels in the ceiling damage and hanging from the ceiling coming in contact with it. I complained and the staff moved me to another room. This room had rat droppings on and in my boxes. I complained and ask for the box that controlled the rats. It didn't work and later I complained again then they moved me to another room. The rats were coming from a small hole in the rear wall This was a nasty, unsanitized, and unsafe room. I moved out yesterday and I will never rent another storage area from this Uhaul. I have used them in past years and never had any problems until I rented from this facility.
