Around Half of our trip I noticed the left lights in the tow dolly wasn't working. I called ad a road service man came and said the the light was riveted in and couldn't be repaired b needed to be replaced. He then had to reconnect the tire straps because he said they were done so badly I was lucky the car in tow didn't come loose from the dolly. Until the Orchard, Boise Uhaul I had a lot of confidence in your service but that is less now. Add to that the Ocala Fla. wouldn't credit me for the delay it caused and charged me for 2 extra days. Not happy today.

tom kingWhen I returned the equipment I parked where the signs tell you to park when returning equipment. I waited in my vehicle for approximately 7-10 mins for someone to help, the sign states that you should stay in your vehicle. After waiting I walked inside to get help and was told someone would be out shortly so I returned to my vehicle and waited. Someone showed up and asked what I needed and I told them I’m returning the trailer, he walked away and headed to the trailer. He shows back up after what I assume was him inspecting the trailer to tell me he needs to collect for the rental. I told him it was paid when it was picked up and the card was charged, he said “I don’t know about that but this(showing me his phone) says he needs to collect for it, told him again it’s been paid for and went to find the receipt and he told me I need to go inside to handle this. I go inside to speak with the lady and told her what he told be and she tells me that what he was telling me means he needs to collect the rental information on his phone and that he didn’t mean he needed me to pay. I told her that’s isn’t what he said and he sent me in to talk to her and she gets annoyed and tries to exit to me again and I advised her I understand what you’re saying but he’s lost and doesn’t know. She become more annoyed as I walked away with her repeating to me that he didn’t actually mean collect payment, I told her at that point I understand, he does not and needs someone to tell him how to “collect” whatever he is asking for. I got back to my vehicle and the trailer was removed and the guy was laughing and wouldn’t say anything or answer me so I told him to learn his job better and left.

Jami StatzelInform customers in person how the online reservation system works, or verify that they understand how it works, when they arrive to pick up their truck/trailer. An employee hooked up my trailer I reserved online, then said, “You’re good to go.” AFTER I returned home, I saw an email from the system that told me I needed to verify I had the correct trailer (via license plate) and that its condition was satisfactory. But it wouldn’t accept my responses because the gps told the system I was no longer at the U-Haul pickup location. So I then had to drive back there to submit my information. I don’t live too far away, so it was a mild inconvenience. But it was an inconvenience, nevertheless.

The windshield on the truck we rented was iced up, but by the time I’d gone to get a scraper, it had been cleared quickly by a UHaul employee with a can of spray. Truck return was an efficient, no-hassle process even though employees had several vehicles being returned at the same time. They kept a courteous manner and organized their customers well. We left smiling and grateful for the ease of using UHaul trucks that day!

He was staring at his phone while I was backing up to the trailer. No help to line up to the hitch. When I dropped off the trailer they didn’t check it in so I had to go back and let them know I dropped it off two days before. Overall not a smooth process.

Eric ordered the correct one and we scheduled again. Not sure who he answers to, however that person was very rude. When the office lady let him know I was in the lobby, he told her I could just wait or come back in 20 minutes. Apparently being 5 minutes early for my appointment was a problem for him.

Virginia GearyRainy morning! Did not use shelter for hookup site. Passenger strap was off at first stop. By Albuquerque passenger front tire had blown. Date of other tire was 12/22.. Rear tires were 44/22. That delayed us. We were not happy. But luckily vehicle was not thrown off trailer. Front tires replaced with new in Albuquerque after dark. Too late to travel for us. Possibly, if newer tires were in front with the load we would have avoided the blowout. When you pay this much for a rental, there are expectations. NOT GOOD!

Tonya CawardU-Haul is extremely overpriced. $1/mile is excessive in addition to the cost of renting the U-Haul. It’s not “$40” like they advertise, it’s much more just to rent, not including the mileage fee. After fees it was $300 when I anticipated $150. More than double. Just for unnecessary fees. The mileage fee is very greedy because they already get to claim depreciation on their taxes. At this point they’re double-dipping and being greedy.

Shane StephensWe were helped by a lovely woman named Terri who checked us in. The gentleman who helped us load the trailer onto our truck was also helpful. However, the parking lot was completely chaotic and it was very unclear where to check in and who to talk to. Despite filling out a pre check in, it took us 30 minutes to get our trailer which cut into our rental time. When we returned the trailer, we asked an employee where to put the furniture dollie and rugs we rented. The man was completely unhelpful and said to read our contract rather than tell us simply where to drop off. Another customer had incorrectly parked their truck and trailer so we were forced to leave our trailer in the incorrect location. Again, the employee on site would not tell us where an alternative correct location to leave it would be. I would not visit this location again as it was stressful both to pick up and drop off.
Margaret MattinsonI was told that I would receive my $50 reimbursement since the place I ordered from didn't have the type of truck available when I called it to check in. They assured me it would arrive as a charge back to my card within 4 business days. 1 MONTH LATER AND STILL NOTHING! All lies from Uhaul, most made face to face to me from the lazy rep at the counter who refusedto verifyi was set up for my $50 refund for not havingmy reservation. I expect my refund, and would be happy to gather enough people for a class action if this is not escalated, as I am sure based on my experience this I a common occurrence. I am also willing to take down/rescind my 1 star review and stance of litigation if this is taken care of, because unlike uhaul, I follow through with my word.

Dwayne Harvey | First ImpressionsWe have no complaints about the location or the manager on duty. He was very helpful and kind. My dissatisfaction is purely with U-Haul as a company. We reserved (over the phone and with a credit card) a 10x10x10 interior unit over a month in advance of when we would need it. A day before we were to move in, a U-Haul representative called to confirm our reservation. A couple of days later when I logged into my U-Haul account to view my reservation and figure out how to access it, I noticed I had no current reservations. I could see a "past order" with the confirmation number that tied to what I thought was my existing reservation. I called the service line and waited on hold for 45 minutes. When I finally spoke with an agent, she told me that there was no record of my reservation, not even my email or my name, in the system. I was baffled. She spent another 30 minutes trying to figure out why we weren't in the system. Finally, I decided to print off all of the email confirmations that I had that would indicate we had indeed reserved a storage unit at this facility and take them to the storage location. When we arrived, the manager who was working promptly recognized the issue and let us know that there was not a 10x10x10 unit available and the best he could do was a 5x10x10. Essentially, he confirmed for us that the reservation means nothing and the units are first come first served. I would have never relied on this as a storage solution had I known we were not guaranteed the unit we reserved with our credit card. We found this to be completely unacceptable and believe U-Haul should make it much clearer to potential renters that the unit they have reserved may or may not be available to them when they need it. Again, my complaint is not with this Orchard St facility, just the company's rental policies.

When I arrived I was told that the space was no longer available and that they had tried to contact me, but there was no contact information on my record. I know that Uhaul has my email since I have received confirmation. They proceeded to offer me a larger unit for more money -- one for 3x as much! Additionally, the room they finally found for me was in an older building with no elevator on the 2nd floor. No thank you! Clearly there is a breakdown in the communication between Uhaul and it's franchises. Why was my contact information not shared? If it had been, I could have more easily found another spot. Since my daughter was one of the last to move out, finding another space was a scramble. Due to working a full day shift, 7:00am to 7:00pm gives me about 20 minutes to do any moving... I have to be out by Saturday at Noon, and I just have to consider my stuff as a donation. I’m really disappointed in this specific business location. My family has used U-Haul for years, and they weren’t ever lied to or manipulated like this... Why me?
