Phillip ButterfieldI had an extremely poor experience with U-Haul. First I was supposed to pick up the truck at 7 AM. At 6:30 the night before I got a call that it will not be ready at 7 AM. I also hired movers through U-Haul to be there at 7 AM. But U-Haul would not help me contact those movers to tell them not to show up on time. When I tried to contact the movers, of course they were off work by 6:30 that night. So I could not contact them. I was finally able to get the truck about 9:15. I ordered two dollys to come with the truck. But when I arrived, there were no dollys. Next, the movers did not show up until 11:00. I had people who were supposed to meet me to unload the truck, but I had to delay them because the movers were so slow getting to my house. Next I delivered the truck a day early and after I delivered the truck I was charged a $406 storage fee that I was completely unaware about. Every time I called U-Hall about all of these issues I was not helped nor was anyone concerned about the hardships that they were putting me through. I certainly will not recommend U-Haul again.

So I had to reschedule and go back when the store opened. I did feel like my 15 ft truck was having bad suspension issues but then again I don't really drive big trucks hardly ever so I'm not sure. But the employees were nice and friendly and helpful and I feel like I got a good value for the price paid

Mallory PatornoI used Bebe Moving previously. It seems you should try to somehow screen these moving companies. I understand it is a separate company, however it is still associated with U-Haul, even if unofficially. Bebe movers charged more than they said they would, damaged a table, but most importantly, Bebe insisted I write the review as he stood there. As a single female living alone, I felt backed into a corner. He basically said to put 5 starts. I told him I would do it later, but he said, “I need you to do it now”. I have never forgotten this, and he is still moving people. Please find a way to prevent this from happening to another vulnerable person. I tried speaking with the company that lists the movers, but to no avail. Whoever started the company was very clever as far as avoidance of any duty to customers. Their customer service is appalling.

Levondra JohniganAlthough there were no food items, everything was covered with rodent droppings. A lot of items were damaged with large holes chewed through them although they were inside heavy-duty plastic storage containers. Most of them were new bedding and clothing items. Picture frames were eaten. Items were also mildewed. When I first rented the unit, I noticed a black bait box in it. I guess I should have gone on a monthly basis to throw rat poison inside the unit. I thought I would only be renting the unit a few months, but I was diagnosed with cancer and my plans had to change. I paid rent for 22 months. I left on Jan.18, 2024. My rent would have been due on Feb.4, 2024. I rented a truck from them to move out. I asked Brad what I needed to do to end the contract as I was removing everything. He said that Ms. Slyvia would see it in the morning and take care of noting it. I swept the floor before I left. When I returned the truck to a different location that same day, the office was closed and I had to notify them by email. Then I called the 800 number to make sure everything was okay. The woman I spoke with was told about the condition of the unit and that items had been ruined. I said that I hoped I didn't bring any rodents home with me. She said she would pass the message up to management, and someone would call me. No one has contacted me. My rent was by auto payment on the 5th of every month. They had the gall to email me 2 days ago to remind me of my upcoming payment withdrawal. I spent a lot of money to store these items, and I thought they would be safe. I'm very disappointed, bur if I ever need to use any storage unit again, I know I will bait it myself. I rented a pod from another company for over a year and never had one problem. Nothing was damaged by rodents, roaches or rain. Nothing was ruined by any means.

Judith A GuidryMost of the staff was very professional and super friendly. My hitch was installed within 20 minutes and way before my appt. time. It was nice of your garage tech/manager to do that, I know he didn't have to. Perhaps worth noting that one older guy on staff (white) was a bit rude to his colleague (black) in front of anyone that was within 10 feet. The older guy told his colleague to go take care of "his kind", "we're not on a farm" and keep "those type of antics in the East". From what I could tell this was his request based on his other colleagues harmlessly goofing around on a Friday morning in the garage with their colleagues, not customers. I can understand wanting to keep a professional atmosphere but this guy's comments to his colleague was really rude and borderline racist. Store owner may want to consider some soft skills or DEI specifically training for all. The black colleague took it all very kindly and professionally but he shouldn't have to put up with that kind of talk from his peer or a supervisor.

Koryne DonaldsonOn December 2nd I rented a vehicle from this location and the person that helped me was very professional, the employee's who serviced me yesterday was not very pleasant when my daughter brought back the vehicle which is in badly need of repairs. The vehicle was give to us with 50 miles to empty, and they were very disrespectful when the vehicle was returned, as we used it for the same purpose we had on the 2nd had no problems. Glad I will no longer need your service and if I do it will not be from this location ever again

It was STORMING by the way! So we were back & forth in the rain from the truck to the store, REPEATEDLY getting moved to TWO storage units because the size we wanted was now unavailable. We moved to FOUR different sets of units & didn't leave until after 7 p.m. (we made it back with the truck @ 12.17 p.m.) The gas was put back at half of a tank, the then other employee comes in with an attitude as if he didn't see us sitting in the rain, inside the truck FOR HOURS waiting to put our things in storage. Our card was overcharged, reimbursed, charged, reimbursed, then charged again. We FINALLY spoke with the GM, that day, he had an attitude. He was supposed to call us LAST MONDAY, still hasn't called us about the issues if that day, the fixed price of THEM giving us TWO units, or overcharging us! If the U-Haul on Central had the services we needed, we would have NEVER went here! I wouldn't recommend THIS U-haul if the services were FREE!
