The location waited until 4:20pm to process my return, despite the truck being back by 2:30pm. This allowed them to fraudulently charge me for an extra rental period. They are not answering their phone and are not returning my phone messages. This in my opinion is completely scammy behavior and to experience something like this has guaranteed I will never use your services again.

I was told by my pick up location that they had me down for three days. I told him I just needed the truck for one day he said that ok. When you turn the truck in they will just charge you for one day. I pick the truck up on 5/25/19 and returned that night at 10:30 pm put the key in night box. Sunday I received my invoice through e- mail from the location I drop it off at they had the returned day down for 5/26/19 so when I went back up there they told me I was supposed to use a uhaul app on my cell phone which I was not of wear of and for me to call the location I pick it up from. So I did and they put a disputed in for me. So the moral of the story is remember to use app if returning early. Waiting on decision.

I rented a truck for just a couple of hours. There was trash inside the cab that we did clean out as we left. Worst part about day was when we were trying to return the vehicle. We pulled up to the gate to return the vehicle after 7. Our code was invalid. It read something to the effect of code was no longer valid. I called a few phone numbers and after 15 minutes managed to get a gut on the phone.He did mention that he was told by the lady on duty that the code would expire. That tells me she knew we were not going to be able to get back in. Why she did not get us a valid code is a great question. Poor customer service. ... luckily another person showed up to enter the area. As they went in I just followed behind them. When they left I did the same thing. I just slipped out. I did not feel like waiting for anyone to come let us in to get our car out. Your on call emergency guy was on his way I know. I do hope the next time there is better communication.

They left me with less than a quarter tank of gas, so I had to maneuver a 17ft vehicle in/out gas station. Fill up the gas at/above 1/2 tank gas.

Truck was stuck in ice when I arrived to rent; another customer had to pull it out with a tow rope. Ceiling of truck leaked. All of my belongings were wet -couch and mattresses soaked all the way through. Was charged $45 for fuel..drove a lousy 17 miles AND put $20 of gas in myself. Rental desk clerk was nice; but remaining experience unacceptable. Will not rent from this location again.

Truck was dirty with loose tobacco when I arrived, location said it was open but when I arrived no one was there working, I didn’t receive the moving pads or dolly, was told I would be contacted within the next two days about the rental, but it took a couple weeks. I wouldn’t recommend u haul to anyone, I have deleted the app and would rather use any other service besides u haul in the future, really bad experience from start to finish.

Our truck was covered snow and got stuck trying to leaving its parking spot. The gate to leave the facility was also broken..so i had to climb over the gate and drive through the entrance.

I was very frustrated to have received a different vehicle than what I arranged. Your service agent was very friendly and respectful as he explained it to me but, regardless, I made the reservation particularly to have that vehicle and was not pleased that it was given to the customers who arrived before me.

Instructions for drop off not clear. Gate broken and code not given, ended up waiting around a lot and calling the number provided, waiting in cold weather. Would go into an actual store if I ever use Uhaul again

The van was covered in snow and a thick sheet of ice. It took 25 minutes to scrape it off in -10° weather. The power steering also seemed to be not working well in the cold. It was an overall miserable experience.

Temps when I arrived were 15 to 20 below and truck was buried in snow and not ready for pickup. Having rented U-Haul in the past, this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. The equipment wasn’t ready and I had to carry out to my truck- 2-hand trucks/ 2-4 wheel dollies/ 1 dz. moving blankets. The following day (return day) it was historically cold. The truck wouldn’t start (dead battery) went to several places looking for jumper cables and they were sold out. Called the location to tell them of the situation and nobody answered. Had to drive to the location to explain my situation and was told by the female office worker that I had “all of her dollies”, the male office worker questioned if all of the jumper cables “in the world” were sold out. I was told to contact the U-haul roadside assistance, which I didn’t opt in for coverage and maybe they would help me. When I was finally able to return the truck (4 hours late) I was informed I would be charged an additional day. In between all of this I had to load and unload the U-Haul and begin unpacking. U-haul did not live up to my basic customer service experience expectations.

The only small issue I had was that there wasn't washer fluid in the tank and it was a bright sunny day so hard to see through a dirty windshield. Not a huge deal as there was a gas station on my route so I could clean it but would have been nice not to have to worry about it. Everything else about my experience was excellent, especially the woman working there!

Make sure to tell people that the drop off location will be closed. Change the address so it takes you to the right place. Make it not so dark so you can see what you’re doing

The vehicle was very dirty and it was indicated that I would have to pay for it. Picking up a vehicle before the office is open is a horrible experience. We had to stand out in the cold for about an hour to get the vehicle. My experience was terrible and I wouldn’t do it again.

Never picked up the rental because the truck was behind a security gate and the code did not work. The manager completely refunded/canceled my order so no money was lost, but it was still somewhat inconvenient. If you rent here, get your truck out from behind the gate before the office closes.

Truck was not ready until one hour after our scheduled pickup time. Had to wait to be contacted by field manager to get into facility. Equipment we had rented was not with truck, so we had to move without it. Field manager guaranteed we’d be credited for these errors, but the receipt I received today does not reflect the pricing he told us. Very disgusted with this location overall.

I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone. This is not specific to this location. My experience was worse than poor, it was painful! Conflicting information, broken promises, inconsistent pricing and availability. No location answer their phone including this one. In fact, trying to call to confirm 3 times got nothing but "mailbox is full". This is ridiculous and no way to run a business. They must be little competition for U-Haul or you would no longer be in business.

I had a great experience. No particular suggestions for the location. However, your website told me I needed to bring additional identification to my pick up, suggesting a passport and one other secure form if ID. Don't you think that's a littke excessive?

It's a little sketchy returning the equipment at night. Someone followed me out after I punched in my code. I didn't even know they were there.

We were to pick up the truck at 7am using the mobile pick up process. I called the day before during business hours to confirm and ask if we could add a dolly. I left a message about 4-5 hours before what was listed for closing time. No one called back. In the morning the truck was not in the location shown online. We were able to spot it inside the gate, but had no code to get in. Eventually someone who was Returning a truck let us in and we were able to get the truck. We also needed to use her code to get out of the gate. We had people at our home who were waiting there for the truck to arrive and we needed to start everything about it and hour later than planned.

Overall experience was good. Truck pickup was easy and quick. However, I needed to return the truck after-hour. The location has a gated entrance. Customer service at the office gave me a code to open the gate, but this code has been expired when I returned the truck. Stood in the front gate for a good half an hour after a long moving day is absolutely not fun. Please make sure you provide the valid code so your customer can return the truck more pleasantly.

The app allows a customer to book anytime and the pickup waa set at 830. The truck was behind a locked fence at the storage facility and was not outside the gate as the app indicated. The facility did not open until 9am. This conflicts with people that book a 830am time on the app. Furniture dolie was not in the truck and I had to wait as well for the storage facility to open up to get the furniture dolies. Final bill was 189. For 10 more bucks penskie is unlimited miles and has better drop off times. The manager was customer friendly and was able to save the deal.

When I arrived, I should have had a passcode to enter the security gate. That was not provided. I attempted to contact the local contact (listed as 24 hour contact in the confirmation) and left 3 messages, before finally receiving a call 45 minutes later. He was supposed to text me a security code which he never did. Tried to contact the national customer service number for assistance but could not get past the on hold advertisement and talk to a real human being. Ensure that if a security code is necessary that it is provided in the confirmation. Ensure that phones are answered promptly and that necessary information is provided.

Be completely upfront with the charges. Getting charged additional fees that you did not agree on is not fair. Also, please tell customers to take a picture of the fuel gauge to contest the location when they say it's lower than it is.

Would be better to have office open at all times during business hours (8 - 5), or to post hours that office is open on the office door, so customers do not have to wait, as I did, at 1:45 PM, for office to open at 2:05 PM, to return trucks - gate to lot and office were closed in the middle of the day, until office worker returned.

Hi, I would like to speak with someone regarding two separate issues I had in my recent U-Haul experience, Contract number 22627177. First, I was unable to pick up the U-Haul until 2 hours and 15 minutes after the "guaranteed" time of pickup. It stated, "We have a 17' Moving Van reserved for you and guaranteed Saturday, 6/30/2018 at 7:00 AM, returning Monday, 7/2/2018 at 7:00 AM." I was never made aware that the pickup facility did not open until 9:30am, no one from U-Haul called me, and I was never provided an access code to pick up the vehicle before the facility opened. This was more than an inconvenience, since I was required by lease to be out of my previous apartment by noon on the 30th, and I relied on the "guaranteed" pickup date. Because U-Haul failed to meet its guarantee, I would imagine that the non-mileage charges ($89.85) would be fully refunded. Is that correct? Second, it rained while my rented vehicle was packed with all of my belongings, and many boxes and my couch got wet. The damage to boxes was minimal (a new 9'x13' glass pan shattered due to a soggy box. However, the couch was a family heirloom that I was very fond of, and it left a significant stain. It is important to note that I paid for "Safe Move" coverage. What can U-Haul do to rectify this? Overall, this experience with U-Haul has caused me the loss of a valuable family heirloom and much stress, and I am very dissatisfied. Please reply to this email or call me at 612.859.7575. We got a reservation for 8am on sat June 30. We arrived at St. Louis Park location and nobody was there. We didn’t receive any call saying office wasn’t open. Ended up waiting a little over an hour to get in office. Once we returned the U haul code we received to open gate after hours didn’t work. Ended up waiting 20 minutes for someone to open gate that had working code. Very frustrating on a long hot day
