The employee was who helped me was delightful and helpful; however, I will never use U-haul again and advise friends and family not to as well. We booked our truck on May 28th (for use on July 30). On July 28 we received a call that our pickup location in Toronto had changed. Furthermore, we were now obligated to return the trunk to the same location in Toronto even though we had requested a Markham location in our booking 2 months prior. Customer service was sympathetic but did not offer an acceptable solution.STEVENLOUIS C.

Change from 26 ft to 20ft rental truck 4:30 pm on Friday night for a Saturday AM move. House is torn apart 4 hired people sitting waiting as pickup was an hour away and not open until 9 am was originally 7 am scheduled pickup at another much closer location. Not this locations fault obviously. Started moving 3 hours late and 2 trips were required to Hamilton compared to 1 trip with a 26 foot truck. 1.5 hours away. Finished move at 10 pm and returned truck to location 30 minutes from house when closer Uhaul (2 minutes away) would not accept our truck. Bottom line a 5 hour move became 12 or more and I spent $158 in fuel when when it should have been 1/3 of that. I know things happen but I understand my 26ft truck was making a noise and Uhaul couldn't get someone to look at it in the 18 hours before I picked it up? Sad to say after many uhaul rentals in my past. but will take an act of desperation to ever use them again. thankyou RichRICHARDD H.

While I would recommend this site I am not as pleased with the actual truck rental. Of the approximately 12 or so times that the truck needed to be started on our trip the truck would only start about a third of the time. The other times the engine would not turn at all. We wasted hours calling U-Haul for support. At times other individuals were able to eventually get the truck to start but could not explain why. It was finally decided that when the truck is in "PARK" the gear needs to "giggled" until the motor recognizes that the truck is in "PARK" and ready to start. This took as many as 5-6 attempts before the engine would turn over. No one at the call "Roadside Assistance" call centre, which had me on hold for hours over the three days of our trip, was ever able to suggest this. In future I would hope that they will assist drivers of this truck of the need to "giggle" the gear... and then part that it works so as to avoid the many wasted hours on our 1800 KM drive..Stevan T.

If you rent secondary equipment, actually have it available. We had rented a furniture dolly but it was not available, and we were not informed of it's unavailability until the pickup. This meant that we had to go to the hardware store and get a furniture dolly, which cost additional money and time, and also may have impacted our mileage surcharge afterwards. Was told the police will be called because I was stealing the U-Haul van that I rented. The merchant also tried to grab the keys from my hand. I tried my best to show him that I was approved to take the van on my U-Haul app but the merchant would not listen. He verbally abused me and profiled me as a thief, while I was trying to get the rental van THAT I PAID FOR!!! I have filed a complaint through U-Haul as the service I received was far below acceptable and professional.Quinlan P.

I am not sure what the reservation guaranteed or you get $50 means. My first reservation for Saturday was "not avilable at that location". Then when I went to edit location, the price was double. I opted for a Monday reservation. on Sunday,my pick-up location was changed. I asked for additional km to be given, which was agreed to, but then not given in the end. I had difficulty with the self check in at my booked location, so the call center sent me to this other location. The call center then sent me to the Greenwood Avenue location but told them to charge me a walk in rate. Eventually, the man there sorted things out, but I was still charged 180 for the truck which was previously 160 on my reservation. Exhausted and running late, I took the truck, but still missed my move out time. The fellow at this pick up location was very helpful. The reservation and call center let me down.KEITH K.

my issue is not with the location, it's with the uhaul policy. i signed up with a company credit card, i did not have the card on me when i went to pick up the van as geographically it did not make sense to get it first. i used my personal credit card to PICK UP the van. when i went to drop off the van, i brought the company credit card. i was told i could not use the company credit card and my charges would go on my personal card. why if i signed up with one card, and dropped off with the same card, am i not allowed to use it as payment? right there on the spot?Zachary S.

Check-in was slow despite me having filled out the paperwork online. The clerk was confused, and had difficulty local the rental although I showed him my online confirmation number . The vehicle was supplied with 1/4 tank of fuel and I returned it at that level having purchased gas before returning the vehicle( I have the receipt). Yet, I was charged for fuel. usually when I rent vehicles ,they are supplied full of fuel and you are expected to return it full. Although the charge was small, I am disappointed with this unwarranted charge being levied. I will think twice before renting from this location again.BENTLEYA M.

My second time renting from here in the last couple months and the experience was equally as good as the first time. I was early for my pick up but that was no problem. Was greeted and processed promptly. When I returned the van, I handed over the keys, we did a quick check of the mileage and fuel and my receipt was then sent to me on the spot.
