My pickup location was switched for some reason without me knowing. The gentlemen I was dealing with at Storage Rentals of America was rude and of no help to fix it. I had to call U-Haul and was told there were 2 trucks of the correct size available on site and the staff should have known that. By the time I got the truck I lost out on almost an hour of moving my stuff out. (We we're paying a crew $125 an hour to move the stuff, so we lost an hours worth of work and money) When I returned the truck, SROA staff charged me for fuel costs, cleaning fees, and an extra day. The truck was clean, had the correct amount of fuel, and was returned after 8 hours of use. U-Haul staff was able to fix it, and reviewed the pictures that clearly showed the fuel was ok and the truck was cleaned. I will never use Storage Rentals of America again and will not recommend it to anyone!JAMES M.

The truck had an engine light on which made it get horrible gas mileage. It was in disrepair and not what I paid WAY over what I was quoted. On a 1900 mile trip, I ended paying double in gas what I should have originally had to pay for gas on a 1900 mile tripPETER C.

Booking the truck and equipment was easy; dropping everything off afterwards was ok. The contactless pickup was a nightmare. Both the app and web browser account wouldn't synch with our order#. Both my husband and I spent more than 4 hours each on the phone with customer service attempting to fix the issue. The night before the move, we were hung up on/call dropped multiple times after being on hold for between 30 and 60 minutes each time. We drove out to the site to pick up the truck and were on hold again to try and complete contactless pick up (pick up was scheduled for 6am and location wasn't open yet, so contactless pick up was the only available option) and finally got ONE person in customer service who knew how to fix the issue. Check in was mostly completed and I got the code to the lockbox for the key, which ended up not even in the lockbox. The customer service rep found the code to their other lockbox, sent it to me, and the key was in there. The key and truck were not the numbers we were supposed to have, which led to the next issue of confirming the mileage for the vehicle. Because it was a different truck than I had been assigned when I completed the rental, the mileage was different and couldn't be changed in my account. By this point, we had been on the phone with the rep since about 5:45am (was on hold for about 60 minutes prior after being hung up on once) and it was 7:15am, an hour and fifteen minutes into our rental time and we were still trying to pick up the truck. Because of app and web browser issues and the locations mistakes, the rep told us to just take the truck and forget about the rest of checking in and that she would alert the location to our issues that morning. Prior to us booking, we had priced other services in the area and U-Haul was the most affordable, but it was a freaking nightmare and was not worth it at all. We lost so much sleep the night before our move trying to sort this out only to have to start all over again the morning of moving. Got hung up on repeatedly. All day the day before the move, I had called the specific location to try and confirm the rental and I was repeatedly told that they couldn't help me and to call back later. This happened until the location closed and I ended up with the general U-Haul customer service. There was only one rep who knew how to help me and bless her she was amazing. She was the only good thing about the whole darn process. We were able to get everything moved and return the truck on time, even with the hour and a half lost to the limbo of checking in. It wasn't even worth inquiring about a refund for the lost time because I didn't want to deal with U-Haul any more. I've even been putting off this review because I just wanted to forget the entire experience.Lauren W.

We were told that the drop off location required that we offload our own vehicle, which we accepted, but once we arrived to the drop-off location we were informed that we also had to back the truck and full-size auto-transport into a spot. Fortunately I was able to help my older parents do this, but this could easily have resulted in injury to person or property. The employee who greeted us at this location (likely the owner) was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. He walked around whacking the tires with a stick and ran through his checklist of questions in a rather crude and rushed manner. We also tried turning the truck in a day early since we were running ahead of schedule, but that employee said very firmly that we had a strict appointment for the next day at 10AM. The truck was taking up a parking space that was needed by other tenants, and the truck itself was probably needed by other UHaul customers as well. We will never use UHaul again.THEODORE M.

I think this facility was a little underhanded, they said I had less than a quarter tank almost an eighth. Which I had pictures showing I had at least a little over a quarter. They charge me for $15 for gas and $30 surcharge. But I had taken a pic when I picked up the truck and another pic when I dropped off proving my case. This place should not be trusted. I called and talk to a lady at the U-Haul corporate office and sent her pictures of before and after to prove my point and they gave me credit. Do not choose this place not to be trustedJEFFREY H.

I was told the tank was full and it was not and I filled it to where I found it, about 3/4 tank. Then charged a fuel charge. Also charged for a drop off fee which I've never been charged before. It was 2p in the afternoon???? I will be calling to file a complaint. Negative experience!CHERYL S.

The equipment was not in good working condition. The tire rims were bent up- the jack lift did not work properly- there was no assistance hooking up the trailer- they told me to hook it up then bring it over to the office so they could check it!Glenn B.

No extra measures evident for dealing with covid-19 worries about cleanliness. No masks by the staff and no guidelines for social distancing. I used my own cleaner to be sure the cabin was clean since there was no indication that anything had been done bu=y the staff. My family and I have moved many times, once was across 7 states and we have always used uhaul. This past move was not only frustrating but added a lot of stress to an already stressful situation. Not a single person would help us even though they were in the office. At one of the visits the girl came to the door and said she's on lunch. My husband became disabled just one month before the move so the whole move fell on me. There was already a lot of stress and your company added much more unneeded stress. From picking up the truck to dropping it off. We also asked for a hand cart and did NOT receive one. When we called to ask why they said they ran out. How was I supposed to move items alone without the assistants of the hand cart and why did they tell us they ran out. They then said we could travel to another location to get one. It was not our fault that we didn't get one, so why was it our responsibility to go get it in the middle of trying to move. With all of this being said we will NEVER be using your company again and we have shared our experience with our friends and family in hopes that they will not use you as well. We are unsure if uhaul now runs this way or just this one location. Either way your company was one of the worst experiences we have ever had.Leo B.
