Angel was a helpful, stand-up guy and would highly reccomend him to anyone looking for a U-Haul in Savannah.

MARK HWhen I rented the truck & arrive at my location, the trailer was covered in trash from the last customer. Multiple bottles, many sheets of papers, rolled up tape everywhere & a few cans. It wasn't a big deal beyond just the fact that I barely used the truck so had I not cleaned it I would've been charged for a previous customer's mess. Everything else here & with my rental was perfect!

WALTER RHorrible customer service .. owner & staff was very unprofessional at stars & stripes LLC located at 515 west 31st st 31415! Owner told me during my inspection taking pictures that "why are you taking 1,000 photos we know what's wrong with our equipment!" & "if you don't like it give the keys back & get your money & go" that was very disrespectful & I'll NEVER tell anyone I know to visit that location even if it's the only location available. Felt very racist & inappropriate !! Hole in the truck floor where loading is required. Seats had rips & tears. It wasn't worth the $100 I spent for 4 hours. Highly not recommended

SNOWY FOwner was very rude. I had booked online and the price when I went to pick up the truck was very different. The owner was not understanding at all when I tried to explain what I booked and told me "just be glad you're healthy and move past it".

FREDERICK NLocation for drop off was in a bad part of Savannah Georgia and the lot was blocked with orange cones to keep from us being able to drive in to drop off so the representative came out to the street to get the truck from us. Young guy and not too friendly. We chose this location (which was far from home) because we wanted to save $87.00 from the original quote online, but ended up getting an additional charge of $88.00 at the end of everything which seemed wrong.

MARY WOriginally, I selected local vendor for vehicle, pickup location was changed bu UHAUL, but pickup time was not changed. I got to the new vendor location (15 miles from my original pickup point) only to find out that vendor did not open until 1200, 4 hours after my original pickup time! I was able to locate a 3rd vendor with the vehicle I needed (20 miles from the updated vendor - in the middle of Savannah, which was having a college homecoming parade while i was trying to pick up a 26' uhaul van). The vendor helpful and is the ONLY bright spot I had for the pickup experience. Recommendations: Do better coordinating pickup if pickup locations change!

GERALD RThe location had a locked gate and I had to hope a curb to get the truck in the lot. This is not the locations fault but a uhaul problem I was charged additional funds because i was required to pass three others uhaul locations to get to this location to drop of the truck. More gas to be used and more miles on the truck. Very unhappy with uhaul.
Robert SThe truck has multiple lights on the dashboard and there were bells constantly going off while I was driving. I also was charged an additional $46 for mileage. I spoke with the customer service rep and the first amount to miles he put down was 15. I told him that was not enough and we agreed to change it to 50 miles. He did not and I was literally charged an extra $46. This is unacceptable. I want a refund for the excess mileage asap. Gracias
SATIN KWas dispatched a 10' truck with brake, stability-trak and other warning lights indicated. Worker at this location told me that it was just a bad sensor - no big deal. Truck was not in good condition. Location was no secure parking for patrons.

SAVANNAH EI have a permanent Mexican license issued by the Mexico City government. Your system cannot process a reservation for a visa which has no expiry date. You should consider this option

FEBIE HThis is the 3rd time in 2 weeks I've rented from the folks at Stars & Stripes. Super friendly and helpful, and their hours are convenient. They went out of their way to make sure I didn't miss my pick-up time when I needed a specific vehicle as I didn't realize that the U-Haul reservation for pick-up is limited to one hour unless you contact them to modify it. That was a huge save and I'm grateful for their conscientiousness.

CORRINNE CCan't say enough about Stars & Stripes! The owner is super nice and was very helpful both times we were there. Thought we had the right sized trailer to move our son home from SCAD, but movers said no. Returned a week later and Angel had the correct sized truck waiting & ready. Truck was clean and we had no problems driving it back to Michigan. Would highly recommend Stars & Stripes whether it's a local move or long-distance, great hard-working veterans going out of their way to please customers. Thank you again for helping us during a stressful time!

Ronald AThe customer service was very poor, and when we arrived to do self pick up, the van was not set up for that from the company so we had to wait until they opened (which was 15 mins late). Then after dealing with a rude employee we were told the vehicle was not available and we had to rent a different size. Our 7am pickup turned into a 9:30 pickup and cost us more than the estimated quote.

Genesis AThis review is not about the location but rather your piss poor business model. Ordered a 20ft truck on 6-4 at a location 5 miles from my home for move on 6-29. I went in on 6-28 to verify and found out there was no truck available and had to go 20 miles from my home. I had people scheduled at 35$ per hr.to help me move. (This was a local move). Only got communication when I went in to verify. You should spend you resources on getting the trucks to where they are needed rather than cheaping out on virtual assistants(WTF). People plan their moves based on time, effort and resources. Your business model is based disorganization and greed. Bottom line is that using your service is a crap shoot.

Steve JThe truck was late being returned by the previous customer. We waited for them to return so we could get the truck. When it was returned late it resulted in a very dramatic and confrontational scene between the U-Haul business owner and the customers. There were threats made and police were called. It felt unsafe. We did ultimately get the truck and wanted to quickly get out of there. While the late return was not the fault of the business owner his reaction to the situation was in his control. I would not recommend this business or U-Haul.
Heather TThere was a note in the door that said to call a number that they were across the street and they would come over. We called with no answer but then found out someone was inside. They told us that the truck didn't drive well as they had had some complaints before.The truck was horrible with so much play in the steering wheel that we had a hard time driving and ran off the road several times. When we returned it and complained to the manager /owner he asked that we not make a complaint to U-Haul because it would look bad for him. This truck is very dangerous and should not be allowed on the road.

Laith FAngel was very understanding. My movers were late, which caused me to return the truck late. Angel said no worries, and to let him know when I returned it that night. Didn't catch the guys name that checked me in ,but he was pleasant as well. Big kudos to the staff at Stars and Stripes!
Tamieka VThe location did not have several of the items that I had requested to rent. This was an inconvenience to me. I voiced this annoyance to the guy running the place (larger felllow, white, 50's to 60s, wearing a t shirt) and he told me that it was "U-haul's fault". I had already waited for over thirty minutes to pick up my order, but he didn't seem to like my annoyance so he told me that he would "call u-haul" so I could complain. I told him that at this point I just want the keys to the truck so I could get going with my move, which he replied with "No, unless you shut up" I was insulted by this and I told him that I had no interest in talking with U-haul and that I just wanted to get my truck and go, and then he said "we're done" insinuating he wasn't going to give me the truck. there was some back and forth, where I basically pleaded for him to please give me the truck as my entire move was based around picking up the truck. His response was I need to 'shup up" over and over again. He stormed out and I was told by a co-worker (female, brunette, brown eyes, 30's) of his that this was common behavior and that it was best if I just don't say another word. He came back in a few minutes later, seemingly a bit more collected, and asked if I'd be paying with the card on file. Eventually, he gave me the key and allowed me to go on my way. As I was walking out he provided me with an anecdote presumably to make me feel better about our exchange. Unfortunately, the anecdote made me feel more like this guy is unhinged. The story's main take away was that several people yesterday never got their rentals because they were giving him an attitude and that ultimately he has the power. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say it was the worst experience I've ever had with a rental company and possibly even the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a business of any kind.

MARK RThe guy you speak with over the phone is not customer service friendly. However, the receptionist at the pickup location was very nice, and helpful. The location had no supplies as I had reserved. Furniture covers, Dollies, etc. I was told to go to another U-Haul location to see if they had supplies. I thought that was very unprofessional. I recommend this location only because of the receptionist. The customer experience with her was good.

I had to get in contact with someone to pick up the vehicle and drop it off because instructions were unclear to pick up and when I tried to drop off, the app kept making me retake pictures of the car after my payment went through, so I had to get in contact with a representative to make sure I was doing everything right.
