This review is not against Scooters. This review is a reflection of the poor service the call center provided and the 1 hour spent at pick up trying to get uhaul's app and website to actual function the way it was supposed

Our UHaul needed new window wipers but of course we didn't know this until we needed to use them, windshield was streaked with dirt and it was very difficult to see. That's the only complaint we had other then check engine light came on as soon as my son started the vehicle. Personal came right out and hooked up the machine they use to diagnosis the problem, never told us anything about what the machine told him. Driving that far to get the equipment was ridiculous and was told I would get a $150 credit never saw that on the receipt, not true to their word. Made reservations in Houlton over a month in advance but when it came to pick up the truck and tag along was told we'd have to go over 2 hrs one way to get it, was not to happy with that information. Also, no dolly was included to move heavy furniture either.

This comment is for UHAUL corporate/Webmaster. I understand that it is my responsibility to read the agreement/webpage and I could have asked why my original "quote" estimate didn't list a line item for the insurance I chose, but it was a surprise that my final charge was (insert insurance amount here) higher than the quote provided during the reservation with no indicator to the customer that this needs to be taken into consideration. I started a whole new reservation to verify this.

The cab was clean, but the windows and truck (loading area) were dirty. The truck didn't have any problems running, however, except for a check engine light sensor that went on and off (I had to call about this - no warning). Also, while the staff were very nice, they apparently did not connect the auto transport correctly at the front or the back, and there wasn't enough slack in the chains which made for a fairly uncomfortable ride most of the long trip (forward & backward vibrations besides your typical up & down bumps).

Not recommending to anyone. When someone reserved a size of truck for a one way and is down sized. You take a reservation then you can't fill the reservation and then you want more money when it's returned. I lost thousands of dollars worth of items because of downsizing from your company. I will never rent from you again and I will tell everyone my rotten experience with you.

Uhaul needs to get more small flatbed trailers in a LOT MORE PLACES THROUGHOUT MAINE, NEW HAMPSHIRE!!! 1 trailer for the WHOLE STATE IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!! PERIOD!!! And when someone quotes a price for a trailer to pick up at a certain point. When we go to pick it up, it better have been sent to that point and not have to spend 2 hours trying to get it straightened out!!! Because then it throws all of the appointments off for the day!!! Should not take more than 15 minutes to get a trailer that has been reserved!! Dealer got all upset that they didn't get any information about the price change, and was just going to cancel my reservation! Told me that I needed to either pay the higher price or cancel the reservation!! But finally the lady on the phone came back and fixed it on the internet and sent it to them, but it took over an hour and they had others trying to rent stuff! It was a Nightmare!! Uhaul in Maine is run Very POORLY!!!!

Truck received was dirty in the cab and in the box. When I approached the agent they told me I had to pay an additional fee and I has to clean it up. Truck box leaked water Andy stuff got WET.

Windshield was cracked, no inspection sticker. When I picked it up it was covered in ice and snow and parked in a snow bank. I had to clean it off and get the truck unstuck from the snow bank myself

Highly recommend you choose a different location. It seems a bother for this place to help you. No walk around, no explanation of the equipment. They really just want you to go away. The truck cab was stinky and the truck had damage that wasn't tagged out. I took pics to be safe anyway. Then the share (contactless pickup / dropoff) wasn't working so we wasted alot of time during pickup and after hours drop off. The location tried charging safemove and after hours fee even though we declined and uhaul said it was their fault for the failure. Finally corp uhaul issued the credit. The fuel thing needs to change, how can you be expected to return a truck with any amount of fuel besides full? Anyway it had less than a 1/4 tank when picked up and was returned with a 1/2 tank, no credit issued for the 15 gallons of gold left in it extra... Overall very disappointing. Scooters location needs to seriously reconsider their customer service skills. If there was not another location 10 miles away I would not use Uhaul again. However I will just go to a different location if the need for uhaul comes again.

The contract completed was my second attempt at reservation. I had made one before online which customer service fiasco where in which two separate people would even let me finish a sentence. I was so frustrated. I called scooters directly, they listened to my needs, and were able to get things taken care of right away. That is how it is supposed to work.

The location is not open on week-ends, but they were most accommodating via phone and everything was handled smoothly. Me being 800 miles away, in Maryland and needing a trailer for just a day in Maine, I'd say everything worked out perfectly.

I would have liked to have changed my order to a smaller vehicle but one was not available at this location. I also was told that sometimes even the vehicle one orders is not available and a person could be told with 24 hrs notice that they need to pick up the vehicle in a distant location. While that did not happen to me it would have been very difficult.

Air conditioning died completely 1st hour,93 degrees out humidity high,almost passed out a few times,horrible experience, had to buy a cooler full of ice for rags on our heads.

I have never been to a slower U-Haul operation in my life and I’ve been to many throughout the country. Friendly enough folks for sure but perhaps overly so? The majority of he problem may well have been the painfully slow Internet connection.

Make sure the uhaul is clean. It had hay and smelled like a horse farm inside it. The location was also very muddy.

U-Haul is typically awesome, but the people in charge at this location are giving you guys a bad name. I'm sure you've gotten complaints about them before based on the way they acted. Seemed like I was really inconveniencing them by being a customer. Maybe I came when they were having a bad day.
