The customer service staff did not seem to acknowledge the pandemic. No masks at all in the office area or in the mechanics garage as people came and went, although there were signs saying that masks were required. Made me a bit uncomfortable. The location is not well configured for truck/trailer rental. There are few parking spaces, and very tight lanes to navigate between private vehicles at the location for repair (high risk to damage the rental equipment or even worse other peoples' property...). When we returned the trailer, there were trucks just parked in the middle of the lot, leaving no room to enter or maneuver to put the trailer in a parking spot. The staff was good and friendly and helpful, but the physical location was not good for this purpose.David C.

Everyone was very kind and helpful. Coincidentally, there was another rental on the same day with the same truck and supplies reserved by a man with the same last name as mine. After a little understandable confusion, they kept the two separate and gave me a small mileage discount for my patience in waiting for the process.STEVEN K.

The service the young lady that assisted me at Stark Automotive was outstanding. She was extremely courteous and welcoming. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the results of my online reservation. I reserved a 15ft and received a 26ft truck. Yes, double the size for a two room haul. To make maker more discouraging was that there where no option. No replacement truck. No time considering the constraint I was facing with hiring â€œMoving Helpâ€.Arnold G.
Gave me a car dolly that was not fully maintained, and wound up messing up my car. In talks with insurance personnel for damages right now. Overal service was a joke. The plug for the lights was missing. There was a very short connection on the trailer but that was all. U-haul should be responsible for all safety equipment with regards to their equipment. The customer should not be expected to purchase a connection to the lighting system, unless their vehicle is something out of the ordinary.Robert J.
I'm pleased with Sarks but not Uhaul as a whole. I reserved at one location but then got sent to pickup somewhere else when I was already on my way to the location I reserved with. When I got to the second location they didn't have the equipment I reserved. They did their best to accommodate us but Uhaul failed.Felicia Y.
I reserved 2 dozen furniture pads with our 6X12 trailer. When I picked up the trailer, I was told the location didn't have pads and hadn't received any in â€œmonthsâ€. Why was I allowed to reserve if they wouldn't be available? I didn't have time to run around to other locations to find these. Also, they lights on the trailer did not work properly/consistently. The right blinker and one right brake light worked, but no other rear lights worked. Very frustrating.Robert G.
Gas tank was empty. Truck wouldny start after filling with gas. I needed roadside assit twice. Gas mileage was awful despite truck being mostly empty. Cant get a return call from area manager. Never againAndre P.

The people at the office were very nice. The vehicle however was in very bad disrepair. I had a check engine light an airbag light and some sort of tow warning light. Vehicle would not go into overdrive.MARTIN S.

We were not able to check out our truck via the app, had to go in where staff was not wearing masks and room smelled of smoke heavily. Truck was not cleaned prior to our use- debris left by previous renter. Had to wait for them to move truck out to front for pickup since there is no real parking lot to maneuver trucksRobert P.

Although maintained, this was the oldest trailer I have ever rented from UHaul. Very dated and very well used and banged up. Biggest issue was the holes in the internal wood rails were very small and unable to slip a ratchet strap around them like I can do with some of the newer equipment. Very difficult to secure the internal load with only the four floor mounted D rings in the cornersIrwin B.

The auto hauler had a flat tire and we didn't know it until I had the truck on it and was gonna drive away. That meant I had to leave my truck at the center and make arrangements to pick my truck up after my move. That involved 4 hours drive and 4 hours return and having a friend drive me in my there.shaun O.

Reserved 26' truck, appliance hand truck,regular hand truck. They said they had they did not have the hand trucks but then found them , they had 6 ,26' trucks reserved but only had 4 to rent. Luckily I got there at 8 am and got what I needed. U should not reserve equipment you don't have!!!RICK G.

I ordered to 2 dollies one of which was appliance dollies. Uhaul reservations sent me to Saks Automotive in MauldinSc. This location does not have dollies and they said Uhaul knows it. We were not informed of this until we arrived at the site. The employees treated us as if it were our fault, terrible attitudes. Very uncomfortable and irritating. I called the Uhaul 800# to find a location that had dollies. I was send to Reedy River Storage, which is not the name, of the place. We were sent to a 24 HR. storage facility which had no employees to assist in sight. I found one myself. The company that was hired through Uhaul to load and Unload our furniture etc., Always Above Average Movers are so FAR BELOW AVERAGE they should not even be in business. Two young men, one of whom looked and behaved like a minor. They showed up two hrs. late due to transportation issues and took too many breaks, used our facilities (this was disgusting. My 80 yr old mother could see they were milking the clock. We had a 26ft truck and by 1:45 only 1/4 of the truck was filled. This company didn't send men to move us, but 2 boys that seemed to be deliberately taking their time to milk the clock to get us to pay them more money. I had other family members who witnessed this and they started moving the furniture. 2 women, and 3 men with disabilities did a much better job. The boys took a break drove up to the new house which was a 10 min drive away. They had already expired our 3 hrs and were asking for more money. They said it would take 1 hr to finish moving our furniture and charged me $100 extra for 2 hrs. I agreed then thought about because it was not right. I texted them then called their boss who made up some ridiculous story. I have the texts and my daughter was in the car when I was talking to him. He said they needed to leave because they had other jobs booked for the day, it was now 4pm, claimed he, gave us, 1 additional hr. they had to drive 4 hrs to get back to location and would be moving until midnight. He asked me to have the oldest of the, two call him and said they would work something out with us. I got a call from my family and was told that they said I was not going to pay them so they left. I have hired uhaul in 2011 to move us in to the house we just moved from and they did, an excellent job and finished it within the time we paid 2-3 hrs. I know there was no excuse for this issue. My family finished the move. They left my family in the middle of the move. Lied to my family and said I was not going to pay for the move. It was 8pm when we finished. I and sending this info to the BBB. I want a full refund. My family was taken advantage of on every end my Uhaul and its associated workers. I will never come back to Uhaul nor recommend it again. My time was wasted.Larry W.
You need to improve your Maintenance and your Customer Service. When I recently rented a 20 ft box truck one-way (South Carolina to Florida) there were a number of problems with the truck, most of which showed up after I was well into the trip. 1. The windshield wipers were shredded. It started raining shortly after I left and I had to return to the dealer to get them replaced. 2. Every time I hit a bump in the road the driver door popped open. This was discovered after I left the area. 3. The roof of the truck leaked and damaged some of the furniture. This was discovered at the destination. 4. The steering was so loose (more than 1/4 turn of play) that my shoulders and arms are still sore a week after driving the truck. This was discovered when I got on the interstate highway an hour or so into the trip. When I dropped off the truck in Florida I showed these problems to the dealer there and they promised that I would not be charged for the rental, and that the Regional Field manager back in South Carolina would contact me within a couple of days. That did not happen. In fact I called and left voice messages for that Regional Field Manager numerous times and still have not received a response. That is not good customer service.John K.
