There is too much hassle in verification. I used the app for the first time and there were no clear instructions as to why it was asking me all these details, my pick up was 24/7 one. Fortunately the support lady called me to explain. Also I don't see the need to call some other number to verify your own identity. I had some spare time on my hands so I could go through all the steps and still take the truck, but on a busy day it can get really frustrating.Harsh K.

Said they needed the Van back earlier than initially wanted. Agreed. My move took longer and I asked if I could have more time -- another 30-60 minutes. They said that they had another customer and could give me a maximum of 60 minutes. The move went even longer due to traffic and I was 30 minutes past the 60 minutes! I was stressed as someone else was waiting on the van. When I got there, the place was closed up, lots of vans and trucks. Someone came out of the office and they just wanted me to check out via the website and get the keys. Seemed like they were ready to leave for the day. No one was waiting for the van! The real issue is with the U-Haul company, not necessarily this location. The online process for reserving and picking up vehicles is way too clunky and convoluted. It was difficult to navigate the various steps using the mobile app. My online reservation never found its way to the mobile app. Couldn't find the QR Code. And the guys at the location weren't knowledgeable enough to assist with all of that. I did not select "Safe Move" coverage (I actually deselected that option when making my reservation, but somehow it got turned back on and I was charged for it. $20.00 after hours drop off fee is bullshit.Paul S.

When I arrived to pick up the truck the app was not allowing me . After being in good for 39 mins with uhual come to find out the location did not set up the truck for me to pick up and u had to wait for the uhual rep to reset up a new reservation so that I can be able to have a different rental . We have never been unsatisfied with performance of U Haul trucks. However, the cabin in which you drive these trucks is totally and unacceptably DISGUSTING!!! You would think, especially during Covid, that U Haul would have a Protocol to clean and sanitize every vehicle that leaves a facility. You'll need rubber gloves and a shower after your rental. Justin was helpful in helping me get the truck in the AM. I was grateful for that. I returned the truck earlier than the deadline. However, upon checking out, Justin was too quick to charge my account. He submitted the charge, instead of going over it (explaining) exactly what I was being charged for. I was still asking him why $66.00 versus the $19.95 (and reasonable fees) and he didn't answer me, but just kept saying: $66.00 dollars - okay? And then he pressed the submit button. Afterwards, he was like: "oh, that's the insurance fee, etc." I told him that I didn't want the $14.00 insurance (as I made sure of that when I did the initial reservation online). He stated that everything was already charged and there was nothing he could do about it. He came off as a slick, quick-talker, auto-mechanic salesman trying to get over on me. I was disappointed in that. So I no longer trust this location.Deanna B.

the truck felt like the breaks had been over tighten on purpose. the suspension is totally shot. the transmission slipped and the entire truck had an over powering stench of cigeretts. we had to wash every pieced of close. Then i seen an hour on hold trying to get some one. Finally i got tagged with a $22.01 extra charge for i don't know what. I took pics of the truck and fuel when i dropped it off gas @1/2 tank. this twas the worst rental I've ever had with your company. And the $22.01 just an extra kick in the teeth.MARK S.

To send an email and confirm if doing a before hours pick up what information you will need in order to take the truck.Matthew H.
The check in process is clunky and not user friendly. There is a single email sent when the reswrvyis made, there is no confirmation of purchase in it, no details of the reservation, and no code to obtain the key. All of that is done after a long arduous process on the u-haul website. Just send the information in the email and make it easy for your customers to so business. This was my first time renting from Uhaul, and I'd never do it again except as a last resort. The website didn't work properly on my PC or phone, so I wasn't able to upload my drivers license and had to go inside the location. Inside the person who helped me wasn't wearing a mask, though he found one and put it on once I asked him. The keys they gave me were for a van that was boxed in, so I had to come back in to get a vehicle moved. The van had damage on all sides that wasn't shown on the website, but I wasn't able to upload new photos to document the damage. There were $17 worth of taxes and fees added to the amount on my credit card authorization, so my $19.95 rental was already $78.67 at that point. I photographed all the damage on the outside and checked the gas level, but I should have photographed the mileage, because it was wrong. I made one trip to my new place, less than 20 miles round trip. When I went to return the van the next morning, the location was closed even though their hours list them as being open on Saturday. I still couldn't get the website to work to check the van in, so I was charged a $20 after hour fee. It was pouring rain and the gas gauge was just under 5/8, but I was charged a refill fee for 1.5 gallons of gas. I was also charged for $70 for driving 64 miles, even though *I drove 19. So my total for making one trip to a place 8 miles away was $155. The manager of the location was willing to refund the gas fee and after hours fee, but not the mileage. I called Uhaul's customer service line, but I'm waiting to hear back. Other than the van driving fine, everything about this was WAY more expensive and stressful that it needs to be. I can't believe they even advertise this as a $19.95 rental when the tax and fees alone guarantee that it will be twice that price, even without mileage or damage coverage. Definitely planning to tell anyone I know who is moving to avoid this location at all costs.Rachel L.
