The vehicle was not ready for me at the 8:00 AM reservation time. Employee had not checked in vehicles returned the night before. I was provided the van I used without it being checked from the previous driver. I took photos as the interior had dirty paper towels left in it, leaves and mud in the floor boards of the van, the exterior of the van and tires were muddy. There was a dent in the back right hand door I was unsure had been marked. The brake line was hanging nearly to the ground on the back driver side tire. The U-Haul website continues to fail to verify location so when units are returned after hours, I continue to be charged a $20.00 fee. The units are not being returned late but there is no way to verify it as the U-Haul application never works.Shannon N.

The van needed Roadside Assistance and one of the workers there was yelling the background over Wendy (the person I spoke to on the phone) that they don't need a reference number but I needed to get in touch with Roadside assistance ASAP, as they had another person who reserved the van @9:30. Advised that the request had already been put into place the person in the background said make sure I call them when I was on my way. Roadside assistance made every effort to assist in a timely manner. However, Wendy called me several times after that checking the status. I found the staff to be unprofessional and seemed to be unbothered by the harassment and the fact that the hand truck that was reserved was not in the van. I have used Uhaul for years and this is the first time having to use Roadside assistance (very professional) and deal with an vendor who was to say the least unprofessional. My advice to any one is to operate in the same grace you would want someone to have for you if the situation happened to you. I will not use or recommend Matthew Mowers to anyone needing Uhaul equipment.Shelby M.

Remind people that a phone verification is required. I didn't notice it in the fine print of my email. This would be helpful for customers, especially those with an early pick up. I had to scramble to try and get someone to be available to pick up first thing in the morning. Also, I was told that I would get the key from a lock box and that was not the case, it was locked in the truck and the lock was difficult to get off.Christina S.

All went very well with customer service Only problem was the truck was not very clean..whomever rented before left it very dirty with sticky stuff all over seats doors and dash..the floors were also not very clean..but other than that..everything else was fineVALITAY P.

Please note to anyone reading this review publicly, the poor rating has nothing to do with the staff and location and EVERYTHING TO DO WITH UHAUL (the company) ITSELF. If staff were not present on site, my experience probably would have been worse. I realize technology is great and everyone is doing it, but because U-Haul has totally gone to an automatic system, it took me over an hour to check-in (vs 5 min when a living person would do it at the counter). I had a certain timeline (a wedding) and the hassle of U-Haul's "system" was unacceptable. At the time, I pretty much decided NEVER to rent again and buy my own damn van, but I calmed down since then. I have another wedding coming up in two weeks. So, I will probably end up renting from them again. Then, I can decide what to do as far as any further renting is concerned. And double note, the van was not filthy, but I had to sweep it out etc before loading equipment. So, I left the van really cleaner than when I received it. < not a big deal (just a fyi and this review section is very limited)MIKE L.

The local staff were all nice but they didn't have the right to make it straight offline. Your requirement of multiple contact system was a total disaster! It never got it straight online. Finally a customer service people called me and solve the problem.Siqi L.
When I initially booked this rental the site gave me the option to post my license front and back in order to speed up the check-in process. So I uploaded the photos. However when I actually got to the location and began the check-in via the app, I had to take pictures of my license again. What was the purpose of uploading the photos when initially booked? The check-in process turned out to be a bit more timely than expected. I did receive assistance and that was appreciated but verbal instructions were unclear as I had to ask were the vehicle was located and if the number on the key was the truck number. I had to make sure I read all instructions via the app to make sure I was doing the checkout process correctly. That is challenging when you are the driver as well.Dorrie E.
The location was not convenient. picking up the truck, the sign stated drop off. With no indication where to pickup the truck. Staff did not wear a mask. There was a sign out front stating no one allowed inside without a mask on, only to get inside and witness several customers inside without a mask. The sales reps were not helpful at all. The contactless experience was horrible. I will never rent from here again!!!!Amber B.

Your app is absolute garbage. My time was unnecessarily extended because I couldn't load the return page. Keep in mind this was at any location I was at, not just the office. I'm sure I was charged a little extra upon return because I spent 20 minutes trying to get past the "Error could not load page" form. Physical location and process was excellent though, however please please please optimize your crappy app.Gavin J.

I specifically chose to not do the self checkout with the app when making the reservation. After the the biggest hassle of making sure all documents were uploaded to my account (such as drivers license photos) when making the reservation online (a process that took nearly half an hour online), I was then required by the facility to access my reservation using my phone and an app. What was the point of the website asking if I was going to use the app or not? What if I wouldn't have brought my phone to the appointment? To rub salt in the wound, the app then required all of same documents the online reset required. Why did I have to submit these online beforehand? In all it took nearly 45 minutes to pick up a a truck that I reserved online through a 30 minute online experience. I will be using another truck rental in the future.Jonathan W.

The U-Haul app sucks. I had more trouble and it was not my phone. Check-in & check-out did not work as I had to wait an hour after I returned the vehicle to check out. I called the 800 number and got the run around and spoke to 4 people and still could not check out. I will not ues U-haul if that is the only way to do business.Ronald C.

The mobile pick up option was NOT user friendly. I created my profile, filled out everything required before hand, and yet when I went to pick it up I had to enter almost all of my information again as if I didn't have an account. This added time and frustration when I was trying to pick up the truck. If it wasn't for the kind worker's instructions that were inside the building it would have taken even longer to pick up the truck. The app was not straight forward and I felt like I was going in circles. I understand with the current Corona Virus situation you will need to operate me remotely, but the app must be more user friendly. I watched all of the how to videos that were emailed to me beforehand and I was not anticipating all the hold up. I really hope you do not transition to app pick up only since in person customer service is superior for truck pick ups.Samantha B.
