I got there and the guys was not there waited 25 minutes of my time that i paid for because he was supposed to give me the truck at 1 and gave it to me at 1:23 , also i pay the guy 16 dollars cash for insurance and then i get charge again on my card for insurance so i got rob by the guy at the uhaul location is unacceptable i will never be getting a uhaul specially from this restaurant i want my money backRICHARD D.

There were SO many issues with this reservation. First, we booked the self-checkout option due to a previous terrible experience with this pickup location. When we arrived we still had to deal with the head U-Haul employee who said we had to return the vehicle by the restaurant's closing time at 6, even though we were allowed to book it for 12-9 pm. Apart from the staff being extremely rude, unprofessional, and disorganized, the sprinter van that they gave us was in awful, non-street-legal condition. Attached to this report is a time-stamped video and picture taken when they brought it to us at 12:20. The right side mirror is shattered and almost caused an accident on the freeway. What is not pictured is the interior alert system notifying that the pre-collision assist was not working, the van needed an oil change, and the tires were low pressure. We told them when we dropped it off and they didn't care. This vehicle was dangerous to drive and I demand a FULL refund from U-Haul.Carina M.

IF YOU ARE ON A TIGHT SCHEDULE, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS LOCATION First of all, you must come there during the restaurant's business hours. The U-Haul website makes it seem like you can do the "rideshare" thing with picking up and dropping off the vehicle using your phone, but you cannot. Second, when I picked it up the guy told me I can return it at 9:30 AM the next day, when the restaurant opens. I was there a few minutes before 9:30 the next morning, and the guy in charge of u-hauls SHOWED UP 30 MINUTES LATE with barely an apology!!! Really annoying. So, OK overall, but give yourself at least an extra half an hour when picking up and dropping off the vehicle.Ilya Y.
Never go to this place. A 13 year old kid walks you to where the trucks are located, 2 blocks away on the street. When I got there before him because he had to stop at the corner store first, someone was doing drugs on the rental truck. I asked for my money back but they said it was already processed. I was willing to wait another month to move because I wanted out of this horrible experience. This is the worst rental location I've ever seen. My reservation was not honored at all. I had to be on hold for 40 minutes the day of my reservation just to get a truck. Which then I had to pick up at a different location than the reservation that was quite far away. When I arises to the location I had to wait 30 minutes just to get the attention of the employee to start the process of checking out the car. I got the truck 45 minutes after my reservation officially started. The truck itself did not have any of the extra things that I ordered for my move (which was in my original reservation that again - was not honored at all). The truck itself did not feel safe and it veered right when driving. I dropped off the truck after closing hours but the customer service failed to mention that the location I was dropping it off of does not take after hours drop offs and the owner there was kind enough to take it anyway. This is the worst experience I've had with any company. I will never be renting from u-haul again and at this rate I should be getting a full refilling for all of the stress and holding time and sheer neglect I had to deal with.Alina B.

The person who rented a truck was late 45 min , we was late for the job we supposed to do, he came with attitude, and did not even walked us to a car , we had to look for the truck in unfamiliar neighborhood. When we returned the truck, and asked for water to clean inside the truck , because we did not have any equipment, they gave us attitude again, and charged money for cleaning up . They are rude , not organized. Before I rented the truck they told me since we are close early on Sunday you can return the truck Monday morning at 9am . I brought the truck back at 8:57 am waited until 9:05 to go inside the lady called the manager he didn't answer she called him and texted him then he finally said â€œtell them come back at 10:00â€. Pick up location is NOT where the trucks are. I was given the key and told to walk to another street where the truck was parked. I had to walk 5 minutes carrying 2 bags I brought in a taxi. Pick up time was at 2 and I was told I couldn't drop off at another location that closes later. The person said the truck belonged to them so I couldn't drop off at another location, picked up at about 2:20pm and had to be back at 6pm. The man who worked the uhaul counter was rude and racist. When I arrived to pick up the truck at the scheduled time he was seated watching TV. He told me to wait while he watched an additional 10 minutes and than proceeded to assist me. He was rude and dismissive during the interaction. This facility was reported by the operator I booked with as a 24 hour facility however he also told me the location closed at 5pm and he'd be unable to accept the truck back the same day later that night.jamila M.

The worst experience with uhaul..the equipment I reserved was never put in truck so my move was a nightmare. No hand truck no dollies no furniture pads.I also hired movers through the uhaul website and the company had been closed for quite awhile so the day of my move I had to call around to hire other movers and have them bring the equipment I had reserved and not received. I picked up a Uhaul van from this location and dropped it off at this very location. The man who initially processed my rental hopped into the van and asked me to drive one block down and make a left, then a right on to Park Ave to a secluded area (at night). He hopped out the car and I got out assuming he had to inspect the car/gas/mileage. Instead, he hopped into the car and told me to have a great night and drove off. I couldn't have been more frightened walking by myself back to the drop off location. Park Avenue is known for high crime and drug abusive activities. I finally walked to the location to ask them why would he drop me off there in which they were confused as well and called him to return. Upon his arrival, I told him how unprofessional it was to leave me there. He told me he was sorry and assumed I knew the location (whatever that meant nor do I know the relevance to his comment ). No part of me will ever rent from that location nor recommend to anyone. I hope that this review brings awareness to ensure the safety of customers is priority and prevent a potential danger from happening.Janice T.

For La Estrella -- Please make sure to clean the vehicles. My vehicle had visible dirt all over the floor and smelled weird. It was sticky throughout, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt that this was from sanitizer. If the customer gets in the vehicle and it doesn't smell like it has been cleaned, it's hard to believe it was cleaned. For U-Haul -- It is completely unacceptable to change someone's location to the Bronx last minute. For starters, you're sending people to an area where there is regularly crime -- like shootings and robberies. On top of it, I had to spend an extra $40 to get there in an Uber during covid, compared to the other location on Lexington Ave, which I could walk to. And worst, it wasted 2 HOURS of time to get there and back compared to the location I booked over a month earlier. Basically, the lack of forecasting put me at extra risk for getting covid, wasted money, wasted time, and brought me to an unsafe area.Meghan H.

For some weird reason the man in charge was super mean to me and unprofessional. When I got there right of the bat the said they didn't have any vans available and was really rude. I went online and reserved a van and showed that to him and he said that there were no vans again and was arguing with me. It felt like it was personal... horrible.
