Was charged double for >24hrs rental by ~1.5hrs. The drop off was communicated as flexible during pickup - was not informed >24hrs would result in double rental and insurance cost. Doubled the cost of the rental. Would not have opted to rent for this cost and would have made a more diligent effort to return within 24hrs had I known it would be double the cost.Hussein G.

The van was clean but dashboard said the oil needed to be changed SOON. Then, even though I returned the van by 7.00 pm, I was charged a $20 late feeMoumie M.
The parking break was difficult to release. The responsibility to make it work was placed on the customer when the owner should have completed the appropriate maintenance.Marina P.
I had the worst experience at this uhaul location. I had made a reservation for 930 and was 5/10 minutes late. There was nobody on site the gate was closed and locked and I attempted calling the office where no one answered. I decided to call the uhaul service number and they said they would get in touch with the guy. As I was waiting to hear back a blue van screeched up the sidewalk nearly hitting me and I realized it was the person in charge that was missing. He told the uhaul company that he was in the restroom when clearly he was not on site at all. He said I was late and I protested that I wasn't that late and he wasn't even there. He apparently didn't like that i defended myself and said You can't rent here this is my place I'm not renting to you I own this place. I said I would call corporate and he said go ahead I'm not helping you. I called and they forced him to help me. I then said I need it for the 6 hrs so the return time needs to be adjusted. He said no you bring it back at the time you signed up for. I believe he entered in another family to cover his tracks for 15 min after I was to return the truck. I have extended time when using uhaul and have had no problems in the past. He also lied and said his other truck needed a oil change. I've was very hostile and acted like a child in his communication. I should be refunded for the strife he put me through that day and will tell everyone that it's the worst place to rent a uhaul.Cristal A.

Location was extremely sketchy. Rental was missing both furniture blankets and appliance dolly, which was in my reservation. They were able to find an appliance dolly for me only after I had driven all the way home, making me drive all the way back. Drop off was extremely scary, there was no onsite parking to drop the vehicle off, I had to drop it off under a freeway bridge that was full of garbage, feces, and homeless camps. I had to walk around an incredibly unsafe neighborhood to drop the keys off and get back to my car.Ada T.

The equipment itself was in acceptable condition but the return experience could be improved alot. We were told that the location would be closing at 4pm. With this in mind we attempted to return the equipment before that time only to find the location to be closed already 45 minutes before the closing time. This made us have to return the equipment with the online guide possibly incuring an additional fee for that service. If you are going to say you will be open for certain hours make sure that the location is actually open for that amount of time. Many people tried to return their equipment around the same time as us for them to find themselves in the same situation.Jonathan G.

I was not able to complete the check-in process online. Photos I took of my ID wouldn't load â€" the â€œloadâ€ icon just kept spinning, so I was forced to exit the window and check-in at the location. That process was fast and easy but it was very frustrating trying to check-in online (I tried to do so unsuccessfully multiple times).Emily M.

The person who was supposed to be working wasn't there when I showed up and there were two people ahead of me who had been waiting for 30 minutes. The gates were locked and we were standing on the street. In the middle of me being waited on when he did show up (after I had been waiting 20 minutes) he was interrupted by some friends who showed up and started talking with them/walked outside to help them. The guy I was waiting outside with at the gate said when he came to pick up his rental in the morning, the worker was also not there and showed up 40 minutes later than the pick-up time. I returned my rental 1.2 hours after picking it up at 5:04pm and he was gone/the gate was locked again. The worker's name - based on what his friends were calling him - was Simon.Carol V.

We arrived a 10 minutes late and the person running the place was already leaving for the day even before they should be closing. After giving me attitude and being rude he helped get us our truck which was not cleaned out and had less than a 1/4 tank left. After he calmed down he was nicer but still rude. Would recommend going to another facility but this place will work in a pinch but don't expect muchTravis A.

The van is full of cigarettes/ cigarette cartons, ash, trash, plastic silverware, dirt, wrappers, plastic stuff, a plant, food particles. FILTHY!!! Looks like someone was living in it. Also has the ID number written on the windshield like it just came out of a tow yard. Absotlely disgusting!Jamie B.

I've had several great experiences here in the past, but this time was lacking. I had scheged a van from 9am till 2pm, but the location was late to open. When I asked if it would be fine to hold onto the vehicle for the extra half hour if needed, I was told there was a customer behind me and to "do my best". I ended up returning the vehicle early, returning the key to someone in the office I hadn't seen that morning. At 2:05 I was called, asking where was the vehicle and that someone had been waiting for an hour for it. I told them it was returned and that I had it till 2 anyway, so it no one should have been waiting for an hour. They said thank you and hung up. I've had very smooth professional experiences here, but today was lacking.Dane F.

Only one attendant and the attendant was 20 minutes late to the office. I waited for an hour before I got my vehicle. It has no gas and I have to find a gas station to gas it up. I wasted a total of 1.5 hours while our moving party was waiting for me.Joseph W.

The person was not at the office when we arrive at the scheduled time. After waiting for 30 minutes and calling U-Haul multiple times, someone from another location came to handle the situation. But he was rude, as if we customers caused him to disrupt his routine. Also, the off-hour return is limited to "Before 7pm".Chi Shing K.

It is in Oakland where the standards are lower. This is part of a multi-faceted business shoehorned into a corner, in a Middle East or India way. The man who helped me at both ends was articulate, knowledgeable and fast. But the surprisingly newer, nicer 10 foot truck I rented was uncomfortable for a tall man (6'4") to drive. It was plenty wide but short on length. OK for the ten mile job I had, but a longer trip would be bad.George N.
Guy running the place appeared to be in dirty clothes. Dropping the vehicle off under an overpass, I had to back in carefully not to hit someone's tent on the sidewalk and then had to dodge around piled trash or stand in the bike lane to take the checkout photos.
