nasty customer services; not friendly and lazy

Elepxia OThe guy who met me (not helped me) was rude and lazy and offered absolutely NO customer service. It started with the picking up the trailer and he instructed me to return the trailer the next morning and to take the trailer off the vehicle myself and where to place it. I have a bad back and cannot lift the trailer off the vehicle. Then, when I returned the next morning, he wanted me to place the trailer in an exact space that would require me to pull the vehicle into a busy street to get the vehicle aligned with the space he wanted it placed. The area where he wanted the trailer placed is very tight. This is the smallest trailer offered and easily taken off the vehicle and pushed into the space by hand, if you don't have a back issue. He wouldn't check the trailer back in and directed me to go to the app to do it myself. He told me that wasn't his job to check the trailer back in. He finally did check the trailer back in when I asked questions on how to access the app but was condescending and rude in doing so. I won't ever use this location again. I typically go to the location on 15-501 in DURHAM/CHAPEL HILL and these folks are so professional and customer service oriented. They didn't have the trailer I needed when reserving.

Nathan SThe operator of this location is the most hostile, condescending, and rude individual I have encountered in years of frequenting UHaul franchises. They do not allow parking on site and will tow your car. This notice was only sent after my pickup time had started and I had arrived to check in for the truck. The owner told me because I was a late pickup I would need to cancel and rebook, I told him I wanted to continue checking in via the app. When the app required verification of driver documents, he mocked me for this. After I returned the truck in pristine, clean condition, the owner charged me both damages for the truck and a cleaning fee, clearly in retaliation. This experience has made me reconsider ever using UHaul again. But definitely do not use this location. You're probably thinking it's always easy so why not, if they have the pickup--but trust me, this one is worth avoiding.
Michael SThe person there was very rude and agressive and was not helpfull. zero customer service In addition we rented a truck and a trailer and there was no tow hitch for the truck. We had to get and use our own. if we did not have one how were we going to pull the trailer?
Walt HInternet signal is poor at that site and it takes a long time to use the app to respond. And that site does not even have a customer parking to allow single person to pick up the truck and leave personal vehicle during the rental.
Koming YGreat service, just wish I would've been made aware of the link that allows me to update the gas since it was not actually on full when given to me. Other than that great experience overall!

Glenn NI have NEVER IN MY LIFE, experienced such poor customer service. The owner of the store that operates the uhaul was VERY dismissive, rude and offered very little assistance. He was rude when I picked it up and even more when I dropped it off. I gave him two chances to get it right and he still failed. I would NEVER recommend this location to anyone.

CarolynJ CI was charged $180 for a dent which I was not responsible for- the employee stated that if I had only purchased a damage waiver none of this would have happened. Upon customer service it was later determined by pictures from a previous renter that I was in-fact NOT responsible for damages and am to be reimbursed for the charges.

Michael UOwner was rude and condescending. The truck itself was pristine but the man who owns it operates this location was extremely rude and unhelpful. I will be using U-Haul again - I will not be going to that location again.
Sarah DI didn't want to reserve through this store in specific bc of the reviews, but unfortunately with the size truck and my additionals my rental got transferred here. The truck was 'okay' the check engine light was on and it bucked a bit while driving. I also didn't get the dolly or pads that I ordered as the owner claimed he didn't have them. The phone signal in that area is crap and hard to use the U-Haul app there. He was somewhat helpful on pickup day but upon returning I went in to ask a simple question and was turned away by the same owner in a rude fashion and told to contact U-Haul instead because it wasn't his problem. I got my move done, but, personally would never want to rent from this store ever again.

Kanika ROn drop off , I hit charged 20 for gas. It was more than when I picked it plus. I drove 80 miles . At 8 gallons a mile I put 34 in it. I shouldn't have been charged for gas. I told the gentleman when I picked it up that there wasn't as much gas in it as it said in sheet.
Daniel TThe one person that helped us was great, he helped us park the vehicle, place the trailer in the right location and overall, took great care of us. He had a great sense of humor and I would suggest you give him a raise.
James GI have rented from U-Haul since 1971 THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE WHICH I HAVE EVER HAD. The employee was rude, condescending, insulting. He was crazed by 'the power' which he thinks has. His behavior was shocking . If he was the 'owner', UHaul should cancel his right to represent the company. In addition to the grossly unacceptable mistreatment which we experienced, we also witnessed him abuse two other sets of customers. He should not be allowed to have contact with customers. I would like a supervisor to contact me.
RICHARD CTerrible Experience. From the lack of instruction, to my account not being ready for me to start the rental process. We got there early to pick up the rental truck, my account was not ready so that delayed us 10 minutes passed our pick up time. Thankfully, the truck share help line person was nice and fixed the issue & gave us 10 minutes back, but even after completing the initial process my account couldn't find a key location. We called the help line again, waited another 10 minutes with no answer before the gas station owner came out to help and give us the key. We were then 25 minutes past our pickup time of 6 by the time we received the keys, and again, we had shown up early. I was extremely frustrated with the lack of direction.

EVANGELINE JOwner was extremely hostile and began yelling at me before I even got to the store front about no parking, began berating me that I should have been notified hours ago despite only making the reservation one hour prior. I didn't even get the chance to speak before this began. Truck return and pick up process required going to the desk despite outside drop off and pick up instructions.
Delaney RLocation was shady and the person there who was supposed to help was not at all welcoming. He didn't help us even we asked him questions, he just said I am closed. The working hours are between 7 am -7 pm and it was way before 7 pm. So I would never refer this location to any of my friends. Though the truck was good and well maintained. But the service and the location is poor. Location was 2414 NC 55

Lakeeshas BMy order was not adhered to: no dolly, no blankets. Nothing for me to do, since the store wasn't open. The truck was clean, but ran poorly: engine light was on, breaking and acceleration were very poor, breaking was worse. Truck needs lots of work. But, worse, the app... the app is terrible. It kept moving from one place to another with no user interaction. I mean, come on, we stopped doing that in 2005! Then, when I tried to use it to return the truck, all mayhem. On the 3rd try, it finally let me 'return' the truck, but I couldn't add any information or pictures. It essentially died. The app is rudimentary, needs a lot of work.

I also requested in person pick up however I arrived and no one was outside to explain anything and when I went into the mart the representative was rude, he insisted I pick up using the link which didn't work so I had to go back in and I told him about the error and he had a snarky remark. He checked me in then stated I needed to do my drop off online, which was very annoying and tedious. I won't be using this location again or referring anyone.

Bonita BThe Uhaul online reservation process seems to omit pickup times for which the subject vehicle is not available. That led to another site only offering pick times from 12-4 AM. You could either improve the site so that only times for which the given location is actually open are listed, and explain that for times not shown, the vehicle is not available, or whatever the explanation is. My experience at the site I used was just fine.
Philip SThere is a big hole in the roof of truck, there was water inside truck! It was raining and some of my items got wet! Owner knew there was a hole before renting U-Haul truck and failed to mention at check in!
Motisola GThe truck was fine have rented from this location before however when I opened the back on the truck, it was infested with Ants. I did my best to get all the ants out before moving my belongings in it, however when unloading, ants were still on my belongings.
Dajiah HI still haven't had my final payment amount adjusted and it's been a full week since I returned the vehicle. I havent received a final receipt or any communication about what I should expect my final total to be. Before returning the van, I used a leaf blower to guarantee I got 100% of the loose dirt out of the van. It had rained during the time I was renting the van, and thus our shoes were dirty during the moving process. When I returned the vehicle I was told I would be charged because I returned the vehicle without "scrubbing the floor clean" -- I've never in all my years renting from uhaul had a problem like this and I genuinely believe it's specific to this locations employees lacking any and all customer service skills. Ultimately, I think this location does not uphold uhauls company values and should be reprimanded accordingly.
Esther SI was a little skeptical because the pick-up was at a mini-mart. However, the staff was helpful and cordial. The U-Haul truck was clean, in great condition and well maintained. Going to this location was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely go again.
Danielle CHORRIBKE EXPERIENCE....Uhaul system was down all day and I couldn't check out the vehicle till late in the afternoon. I lost moneybwith my movers, I feel I should get some sort of refund or discount.

Jamnel FThe agent was surely. In a bared cage behind the counter. Bars were on the doors and windows. He was playing loud rap music, blaring from a 3 foot speaker. There were gas masks that you could attach to a bong hanging from the ceiling! There was various bongs and drug assecoaries throughout the market. There was no parking at all anywhere near the store. I had to park my car at a bike trail parking area and walk along a busy street then cross a 5 lane highway. This experience was a nightmare for a single 75 year old woman. Donna RNot offering parking for U-Haul customers is extremely unhelpful. Your car WILL be towed and there's nowhere nearby to leave your car.

AGRON SThe store owner told me that uhaul closed at 6 . But I had 24/7 pickup, he was very aggressive. I tried to have the uhaul rep talk with him in the phone and he refused. Eventually he gave me the keys after I tried to get in the lock boxes that he had changed the codes to. The uhaul rep on the phone didn't have the correct code to retrieve key . Not a great experience
