Horrible experience renting trailer with U-HAL and installation terrible they did not tight the trailer hook properly. Beware. They only need money and they don't care of customer. Bad and poor service.

The van had food on the back and trash. All the way it was a sign on the screen saying it was a door open (non stop beeping) when all the doors were closed. On the roof of the cabin where the SOS bottom was it was leaking water. The location terrible. Also my phone didn’t recognize the location so it was impossible do the return. I called to assistance and they just say “good luck” and hung up on me. Then I messaged other agent and they finished the chat. I had the worst experience ever.

I ended up having to drop off the vehicle well after business hours so the folks there had already gone home for the night. Most used car lots look sketchy at 1 a.m., and this location is no different. That said, I was able to drop off the vehicle and bumble around in the dark for about 45 minutes without getting arrested, assaulted, or bothered in any way. (except for a noisy camera that seemed upset every time I walked by. Scared the bejeezus out of me the first time it squawked at me :D) For a late night drop off point, I'd say it's pretty good.

When my husband arrived to turn in the trailer - more than an hour ahead of schedule - he was sent to a second location. He had trouble finding a place to park and had to track down an attendant. He took date/time-stamped photos to verify the drop-off. Soon after, we were charged for an additional day with the receipt showing a much later return time. It apparently took them more than 2 hours to check it in. We made several attempts to dispute the charge with no response. When/if we use U-Haul again, we will NOT select this location as a drop-off point.

The portion of the building that was designated for uvula was locked. There was a sign that said to pull up and wait with the equipment. After waiting 10-15 minutes no one ever showed up, so I walked around to the back of the garage to find what appeared to guys that worked there. The man I spoke to was not friendly and said maybe five words to me. Showed me where to park the trailer and just watched without ANY assistance. The property looked to be a cover for some other nefarious operation.

Providing more information of the location if possible, this is because I was not skillful in back up with a trailer and the person who was available tried hard to help but with no luck (his name Edwin?). He told me his boss is not available I can't drop the trailer where I parked. It took more than an hour to resolve the matter and because our inability to maneuver the trailer, we hindered the business next door that appear of high traffic. Alternatively, offer a lesson for "how to back up with a trailer class", I'd certainly attend.

The man working the shop accused me of leaving the equipment in bad condition. He came me after I returned the key and asked if I had insurance and was going to report damage that wasn't there, he also said i left the hood up on the vehicle. I took pics before and after the rental to prove that I had not caused the damage and that I did not leave the hood up. He hung my up on me and got very agitated when I went back to the shop to prove that I didn't do any damage with the pictures. I felt as if he was trying to scam me and uhaul. Be aware.

The online check in was challenging- took hour and half to finally get our vehichle. I had done the precheck photos/driver's license 2 days before the rental pick up and had to do again. was asked for my lease agreement that I could find nowhere in any of my emails, then told by another service support that I didn't need it. There was no key available. Had to call a third time, tried all key locks and no key. We had no one at the location to speak with. the uhaul associate was finally able to locate someone to open the A1Auto service office and get us a key. Not sure why Uhaul would not just have all of their equipment picked up the the Uhaul location just around the corner from this A1 Auto location. At least there would have been an in-person support if needed. Would also like to request a day discount on this reservation as returned it a day earlier....especially with the horrible service at this location

Be honest and don’t Still from customers. I had the car for 2 days and was charged for 3. The equipment was dirty when I received it and cleaned when I turned in and yet I was charged a cleaning fee. I picked up the vehicle from the guy and turned in to the same guy and was also charged an after hours fees. I rent from Uhaul often. Other locations don’t typically do this kind of stuff. I request that I be refunded what I been over charged

The drop-off location seemed like a cemetery for broken and discarded automobiles. I wasn't sure it was the right place. No U-Haul signage anywhere.

My reservation was for 10 AM. No one showed up at the facility, which I was very surprised was actually a U-Haul facility due to the appearance and condition, until 10:35 AM. When the person showed up he actually asked if I would hook the trailer up. Which obviously I should not do. Additionally several of the blankets of the dozen I rented were obviously dirty from previous use.

We had a mobile pick up for 8:30am. We arrive around 8:45, go through the mobile prompts, and when we finally get the code for the lock box, it won't open. We try for a good 10 minutes and finally give up and call customer service. They were helpful, but ultimately couldn't do anything for us since the owner wasn't scheduled to be in until 10. Okay, so we go grab breakfast. We arrive back at 10:10... Owner is still not in even though he was contacted multiple times knowing we had an issue. Someone who I assume is an employee with his other business outside of U-Haul is on the phone with him trying to help us again. The owner on the phone keeps asking if we got billed yet for the truck and to write down our numbers just in case. After standing in the rain for another 20 minutes with my son now playing in a giant puddle and my husband fielding a work call, the employee finds someone from the back and it turns out the owner didn't have the correct code for the lock. The employee got the lock open and gave us the key. I get my son in the car seat (now soaking wet) and my husband runs over and lets me know the trucks gas is on empty and has 15 miles left in it's range. Lastly, the trucks transmission light came on during the drive to our new home. I wouldn't recommend this location to ANYONE.

I made the reservation at 4pm the day before I needed the truck and this was the only location near me that had a truck available at the last minute. When I arrived to pick it up, they put a note on the lock box that contained the key, which was important since the U-Haul app said it was in a different lock box. When I returned the truck later that day, they were very nice and took care of the return quickly.

No one knew what they were doing. The owner was very aggressive and unhelpful. This should not be a U-Haul location. I had to call the U-Haul number and the help line was so helpful. This location had no English speakers and did not have the key for the truck.

I followed the online turn-in process because it was Sunday, and it was fine. The location had plenty of space but very little signage. Most important, I could not locate the locked drop-box for the key so I am going back this morning to give the key to a human being...I hope.

Very bad customer service. I tried to return the van and no one was there to do the transaction. The manager/owner saw me with the key and literally just drove away. I waited for 30 minutes and he never returned. Stay away from this place.

They failed to log my rental back in and continued to charge me for multiple days after returned. Will be filing a legal compliant. They did not answer phone or return call from message. It's a used car lot that uses the tow dollies to move their cars. Did not use U-Haul debt machine, had their own Best Buy card scanner and a laptop. Go to another real U-Haul location.

Once I found someone to deal with the drop off, he had me disconnect and "park" the trailer myself. Luckily the trailer was light enough to move around by hand (way too crowded to position while still attached). Also fortunate that I did not roll the trailer past the end of the paved area and down the slight hill and into the street (no curb stop!).

My contract was to be a rate of $24.95 for a 24 hour trailer rental. The Uhaul site tacked on an additional $8.00 Safe Tow charge that I DID NOT ASK FOR and now I see an after hours service fee of $20.00? I picked up the trailer after 3 p.m. on 9/8/2021 and dropped off the unit on 9/9/2021 at 8:05 a.m. (I took a picture when dropping off the unit, which has a time date stamp on it), because the site operator asked for me to drop the unit off early if possible, which is what I did. It looks like I'm being fraudulently scammed out of an additional $28.00. Please advise.

While the staff were very friendly and helpful, the facility is very run down and difficult to maneuver a truck and trailer combination. Too tight. I will emphasize again the staff were great.

Be on site when a vehicle is being checked out, keep vehicles up to safety standards by doing regular maintenance and making sure all lights work upon renting out vehicles. Also they need to clean the van in between individuals, my van was covered in soda/drink looking spills when I checked it out and then I was charged a cleaning fee, which I have never been charged because I return equipment as I received it.

The online uhaul portal is a mess. I returned truck after hours and spent from 11:15 pm to 12:56 am trying to get the correct odometer reading. I was charged $20 for after hour check/next day check in. They knew I was returning late and the only reason it stretched into the next day is because the online app is not user friendly. I would not recommend uhaul if you have to use online app. This location does not have a secure after hour drop box and the mail slot at another door does not appear to be for uhaul. As a last resort I tried calling the 24 hour uhaul hot line and had to wait 20 minutes for a representative that was not helpful with the location I was at. I think it was unfair that I was charged the $20 additional fee. It should not have taken 1 hour and 45 minutes to log on coupled with the under staffed uhaul customer service support or lack thereof. Use Penske or budget - much better drop off process!!!

That person explained that they did not have the blankets so all I had to do was tell the people that check me in and they would call them to let them know. I requested 3 times to write it down or mark it and the check in person refused.

The office opened a half hour late, not only that but I was not aware when I rented the truck that I would have to pick it up somewhere other than Port Royal location. Out storage unit was in Springfield and the extra time spent getting the truck really hurt our ability to move safely. The movers had to rush and unload in one day instead of having two days as planned and so now everything is in a pile in the basement instead of being placed in the rooms where it belongs. The gentleman at Afford was very nice but I was not happy with the experience this time due to the delay. U-haul has always been good to deal with but if I had known ahead of time about the pick up time and location I would have done things differently. Thanks for the beautiful clean truck though, it did the job all in one load. Happy New Year!

Had very bad experience with U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer, 11410 N Shore Dr, Reston, VA 20190. Reservation was 8/22, but for some reasons, the order was totally messed up, therefore, the reservation was cancelled when pick up, that was not professional way on handling business and not acceptable in any way. I learned a new definition of U-Haul reservation, which is not hold accountable at all.

The guy running this is super creepy. He came out with his belt half off, half putting it on like his pants were off. He didn't want me to use the uhaul app but to use his system for checking in and payment. Took phone calls in the middle of talking to me. Stood really close during a global pandemic. 100% will never, ever use this service again and will warn everyone I can to stay far, far away from this creepy, sketchy guy.

I had originally reserved to a different location before last minute they transferred me to this location . I did early check in but nothing worked as I got there . So I had to go in .. the guy took so long . Was a little frustrated ! Didn’t know I had a hold deposit either .

I was charged a cleaning fee even though I returned the truck clean with pictures for proof. Had to spend 40min on the phone with uhaul customer service to deal with that. Might be better not to deal with this particular subcontractor if you need to return the truck after hours (when the office is closed).

I returned the van 4:30pm. My receipt says I returned it at 7:20pm. When I returned the van the man who originally gave me the keys took a look around the van and said I should’ve swept the inside of the van. I told him I would sweep it (even though the van was clean.) He said that it was too late and that he wouldn’t charge me the full cleaning fee. I suspected this was a trick he used to increase rental fees. I did not protest because I was in a hurry to leave. I was afraid of catching or spreading the coronavirus and he was coughing without covering his mouth. I was happy that the location was near me but I will never go there again.

The issue was more with the U-Haul app that made it much harder to obtain the vehicle, and would have just been easier getting it all done at the facility. Further the COVID outbreak made it much more difficult to get the vehicle back in a proper manner. I hope U-Haul would consider a financial break on all those additional days the van went unused but could not be returned due to the mandatory lockdown protocol.

When I arrived door no one was in office or responded to calling out for assistance. Had to call number for the business (it was 10:30 AM). When phone rang on the counter 2 men from a back room came in to the office. As soon as turn in of trailer was completed, I left the building but went back immediately as I had a question. Door locked, no response to knocking.
