Honestly, my list for this experience is just too long. I've used u-Haul exclusively for years, but this situation changed all of that. From inaccurate/dishonest billing, no/wrong equipment, to an unprofessional customer service representative to name a few, what's left that's still good enough for a referral?

Location was convenient- 2nd time using in less than one month, but unable to help with a check-out issue. They tried to get customer service help for me with an app problem at check out. Still waiting for a response after an hour on hold at site, several calls, and submitting request on line. National customer service needs to do better. No complaints with the particular dealer.
David ELocation did not open until 9am. We had booked for another location that opened at 8am. We had a long drive and this put us behind our schedule.
Stanley GOverall, the truck got me where I needed to go and the pickup was easy. But, the location is sketchy so I wouldn't come here late or super early. The truck cabin was covered in dog hair and I heard screeching sound throughout the ride (I assume this was the timing belt).

Tuwanna OTruck was listed at 1/4 tank, was actually at 1/8 tank of gas, so off the bat I'm on the hook for gassing up the truck with more fuel than I will use. Person working did not actually come out to truck or look it over, at the time I assumed that was because I got the 28$ insurance so it wasn't necessary. Turns out he probably didn't want to acknowledge things like the check engine light was on, or way more importantly, THE AIR CONDITIONING DIDN"T WORK. In a truck I would be driving in 96 degree heat. Nightmare experience, never again.

Orlando CTruck was dirty. Engine light was on. When I called and relayed this the response was" Is the light steady or blinking?" Steady . " ok I'll check when you bring it back" This did not happen because he had someone waiting to rent it when I returned.

Karen SThe drop off point was closed when I returned the truck. It doesn't have its own parking lot so you have to park it on the street which is rather small. A U-Haul lot would be nice, if possible. Overall the drop off was easy and convenient.

Glenn RWe were given a vehicle with the catalytic converter (stolen) . Right passenger door looked as though it had been hit. It was a a local one way trip less than 20 miles and I paid $120.00 for this vehicle. I paid for 4 hours. We picked up the vehicle at 10:30 we were back by 1:00 but there was a note on the door that they would be back at 2 pm. The attendant was sitting in her car smoking. So we took our personal car and drove around until 2pm. My receipt had to be emailed to me . Nothing could be done in the office. We were very unsatisfied. Will not be using U-Haul again any time!
Anita SThe customer service at this establishment is absurdly poor. Someone did not do their part in regard to our reservation. So, the pick up process didn't generate as it should have. A representative reached out to inform us of the issue and was exceedingly rude. We were threatened with being reported to the police. Despite having filled out all of the information requested at the time we picked up. I personally attempted to call the store 5 times and was sent to voicemail each time. I called the 800 number, was transferred to the store to still end up at the voicemail. Store associates should be accessible during operating hours. The truck shut off in the middle of the road while I was coming to a stop at a light. Luckily, I was already stopping and it started right back up. Otherwise, it could have been a bigger issue than what it was.

Larry CMake sure to service trucks before handing them off to another customer, the TPMS light was on upon recieval due to a bad sensor in a tire with no forewarning from the location. The cargo bay smelled heavily of cigarettes and had to be aired out for a couple hours before loading anything. I was then almost charged twice for the trip, once at the beginning for the service and expected mileage and again at the end for the exact same thing plus the extra mileage. I disputed repaying the full price twice and stated that only the extra mileage over what was initially paid for should be paid at the end, but have received no response.
Adam PWe called and said we would be there at 1 but had to wait for guy to return at 1:35. Picked up truck & drove 10 miles (toll charge), got home & there was a padlock on back but no key to open. Had to go back 10 miles (another toll charge). To have lock taken off. This caused issues, extra cost & additional miles that I should not be charged for!!! Otherwise, the rental was fine.

Charles SWhen logging into my Uhaul account to view my order, the codes sent through my phone number worked to begin with(would say my session expired as soon as I typed in the code), and at the end of the day, I tried to log in later that evening to verify the address to return my truck, and for whatever reason I wasn't receiving the verification codes in any of my mail boxes on my email. So I ended up dropping off the truck at the wrong place. So to make a long story short, please fix your log in process.

Vince CDidn't come with a dolly when I paid for one. Manager of facility was nice and accommodating. After being charged for the absent dolly and $30 for an 1/8 of a tank of gas being used I was little peeved. Truck was alright, drivers side mirror was messed up, wouldn't stay in one spot. Whole back of the truck smelled like cigarette smoke. Would at least like a refund for the dolly. Thank you. Will rent again.

Douglas CCustomer service was fantastic. The truck itself needs work, it leans too far to one side and the engine sounds like it's struggling both loaded and unloaded. The previous renters left a huge mess inside the truck and the cab requires a deep clean.

ALAKELAJEWELL CThe initial reservation was booked for Monticello Ave, Norfolk, this was then changed and split into 2 different locations whereas I had to drive 20mins south out of my way to pick up the car trailer, a bit of inconvenience, yes extra miles were provided however you cannot replace being tired - driving 20-30 mins to then drive back up north to MA. No issues at 22nd Ave where the truck was picked up- great service and experience.

OLIVIA MNot this locations fault but the location in Hampton Va on Mercury blvd did not honor my reservation causing me to drive 1 hour out of my way and 2 hours sitting in traffic 75 miles that was unnecessary. Very disappointing

Janyall HGlenn, the manager was very helpful and polite. I will use this location for all my rental needs. Office was clean/ check out was easy since I had done it on line. I will say, the cargo van should have more of a vacuum before the next customer rents it. It was not bad for the time I used it, it just could have been a little neater. All in all, a very positive rental experience.

Ryan HThe gentleman who worked with me to check out my truck, find a dozen furniture pads and then swap trucks for me deserves a serious bonus for his commitment to making my rental work. He spent 30 minutes looking for furniture pads and then when I discovered that the first truck I drove away in had a ding in the driver's side of the windshield and the windshield wipers had long since ceased to clean the windshield he had another truck ready for me when I returned the first truck. donna cYour trucks start out on haul mode which seems to change their transmission shift points and burns more gas. This is very annoying to have to remember to take it out of haul mode each trip.

Crystal MThe office opens at 9:00 during the spring and summer, as stated on a flyer posted in the office window, however the manager posted a sign that said he was "on-site" but out of the office (the office was locked). So I had to wait for about 15 minutes until he showed up to begin the rental process. Moving day is busy, and we had friends and family over to help us load the truck, but I was late because the manager wasn't in the office. Otherwise, no problems with the equipment, and the manager was friendly and helpful when he got to the office.
