Trucks are advertised at specific rates ($19 or $29 for 2 hours etc.). I understand there are additional fees etc. but they should be clearly advertised. Our $29 truck ended up costing $65!

When I went to check out the website was not working. There should be a better way to check out if you get back after hours. Also, there should be better lighting in the parking lot at this location. Women returning vehicles after hours shouldn't have to use their phone to see...

Although I like this location, my experience with Uhaul was very bad. I had to lose $70 because of a mistake on Uhaul’s behalf, which was not owned by uhaul!

Not happy pick up the with only 1/4 tank fuel and returned with 3/4 tank lost over 50.00 dollars in fuel.at very least you should provide a truck with tank full because if I return with less fuel you charge me is only fair to return same favor

When I rented the vehicle I declined insurance and I was still charged the $10 for the insurance I spoke with Tony the manager he told me I would be credited $10 on my account and it has not yet been done I would not recommend this place to anybody if anything I will tell them not to go there and tell them my experience

Worker was not good with service. Second thing, I asked for a utility dolly and I paid for it but I didnt get one in my trailer where I was told it would be. I reported it when I got home and opened the trailer to at least be removed from my bill and I just got charged anyway.

The guy running this place (VFW Pkwy, West Roxbury, MA) Sunday morning was awesome. He was the only one there, but ran the place smoothly. He was the epitome of 'grace under pressure'. You should hire another person alongside him so he's not stressed out, and leaves for better work opportunities. Maybe let him train others. He was great.

Customer representative was far from friendly. Didn’t take the opportunity to even learn my name, instead saying “whatever”, I can’t pronounce your name. Also didn’t give a receipt for the reservation. Not impressed at all.

All was good, aside from the guy taking 20 min to take pictures of the van. He couldn’t figure it out on his phone and it wasted a lot of time. I was in a rush, so I feel there should be a better way of getting people out the door with their rental in a more timely manner. The guy was nice though.

I reserved a cargo van the day before. The guy who did paperwork in AM at pick up was fine but I felt that there was a 'bait and switch' in that the rental ad said $29/day. The estimate was for over $100. The estimated mileage was 57 and we brought it back with 60 miles. We picked up van at 8:30 (9 since it took 30 minutes for the guy to process) and estimated a return at 12:30PM. We brought it back at 2PM. The new guy who processed the invoice was rude in that he said he would do me a huge favor and not charge me an entire second day since we brought the van back 1.5 hours late (it was not our fault but nevermind). I said that the guy in AM did not tell me that and he said that it was my fault and he could charge me an extra $65. We did add $10 insurance and rented cloths for $5 but the invoice came out to $107 a huge difference from $29. There was a girl and guy at the desk when I first came in talking on an on (not about renting) to 2 customers and then the customers went away and the girl at the cash register did not offer to process my return and when I asked she was incapable of doing it so I waited for the guy to come back from out side. This was not a busy day in that it was raining and the lot was completely full of vehicles. The van was good but the people were really not good and acted like they were doing us a favor to make me wait and then reluctantly take my money after what appeared to be overcharging me. I think that UHaul would be much better served if the price was clearer before reserving a vehicle and also at pick up. And what is the $1 environmental fee? That was weird. In any even, I have rented from this same uhaul a few times since 1980 and I will not rent from this place again after this experience. It was too bad since I have been a loyal customer for so many years.

I couldn't figure out how to move the large outside windows. It would be helpful to have a sticker sign on them, small and on the base of the large window, about how to adjust them. I also couldn't find the emergency lights button. I also didn't refer to the manual, so I take responsibility, but it would be helpful to have the directions on the mirrors and perhaps a big red x on the emergency button for time-savings sake. The truck was also quite bouncy and we thought it would come apart over a few bumps. Boston roads are terrible, but I was wondering it the rickety-ness of the truck is just normal for any truck that size. Otherwise, we moved what we had to move and I was very glad to have the self check-in and brought the truck back after hours and put the key through the key slot. Very helpful to me NOT to have to keep the truck overnight. Thank you and will use Uhaul again. Tracy in Boston

Business model relies on very little staffing, everything electronic. Harry was very efficient, but he is all all alone on Sundays, and likely on some weekdays as well. There was a queue of 5 customers waiting as he opened up on the morning we rented. Company should hire more people, to cut waiting time and build customer satisfaction. Remember, time is precious to renters on Moving Day, and the last thing they need is a preventable delay in getting started!

Had a reservation at Truman Parkway Hyde Park, MA 02136 and showed up and was told that my truck actually was not on site because somebody moved it. Was told I would have to pickup a truck at the West Roxbury location. When i got there it took very long to check-in because of systems errors. The associates on site and at control could not check me in. I was forced to login thru my phone on my own which is a very long/ annoying process. Spent about 2 HOURS TOTAL trying to pickup my truck. Not a positive experience
