While online reservations are convenient, the system was down upon arrival and we had to spend over an hour trying to secure our order for a trailer. That took away from time we had planned to complete a job. Despite the setback with UHAUL's booking system, the staff was personable, apologetic and accommodating. Thank goodness for people!!

Taking a picture of my drivers license online did not work, tried a few times then carried on with out it. The associate at Home Hardware was very helpful with all of my questions.

Grado:

Booked online in the early morning. The rest of the paper work (licence photo) done at the business desk. All done in a quick time frame.

Not super convenient to ask your customer, you being UHaul, to take license pics and send. Anyway, not huge. The person who helped me, Steve, made it less frustrating. Thanks Steve!

When I arrived at the location in Sault Ste. Marie, Steve assisted me and I showed him the water inside the truck. He said he would also let Uhaul know about this. I'm unable to take pictures of my belongings as they are now stuffed into a storage unit which as I mentioned in my comments on the pick up location, had to be put into storage immediately. I'm also very unhappy with the INCONSISTENCY of information I received repeatedly up to and including day of departure as to the payment procedures AND using your Quick Checkin service online didn't charge me the tax inclusively and I had to have 2 separate transactions go through the credit card I used online to speed up my process the morning I departed. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.

They could have saved myself and Uhaul a lot of stress had they actually checked and logged the truck when it had been dropped off a day earlier than it was scheduled to be. Instead, they did nothing and I kept getting a lot of confusing phone calls about my truck being due, which is stressful when 1) its been dropped off and 2) I was trying to unpack; not deal with unnecessary bs. They acted like they didn't know what I was talking about; it being dropped off, despite the key for "my" truck being right there. Then they got mad at me for my being upset; threatened to kick me for out for being it and wanting my $100 deposit back. All because THEY did NOT check and log the truck upon its return. They were in the wrong; yet they wanted to penalize me for their bs. Plus the one guy, according to my friend, kept staring at my tits. Uhaul is a big enough company. Have your OWN damned locations; stop using OTHER stores and getting THEIR employees who do shit jobs. Get your OWN places and your OWN employees. After my experiences between the Alliston location severely delaying my move with her own motives and these Home Hardware dicks with their incompetence and attitudes; I cannot say I would ever use nor reccommend Uhaul ever again. I'd prefer to try Discount or Penske; smaller companies I'd hope are more organized.

Your website needs work. It doesn't take the information in consistently, ie Ontario vs. ON. Pick one way to put in information. I had to put the information several times which led me to book 2x in error. Canada nor its provinces are states, please make an all Canadian site.

a simple wipe of the dash and coffee holders would have made it better. Staff complained about the computer system as well as we did to them about the online check in

Grado:

The cargo van was not ready. When they clerk tried to sign in it showed that it was in fact a 15’ van, and not a cargo van as per my confirmation. It was eventually corrected and picked up the van at 10:15 and not at 9:30 as scheduled. The vehicle was in good shape.

Grado:

The people were awesome, friendly and efficient. Really lovely folk. BUT the van was a disaster. It had drink and food spilled inside, the cargo box was dirty from the last person who used it, the airbag light was on (meaning the airbag system was disabled), parts of the trim were falling off, the speedometer was in miles, and the font for the KM numbers were so tiny that the needle covered about 15 km of range (very hard to tell what speed you're going when that's the case), there was no washer fluid in the truck. Plus the wind noise was so bad (with the windows up) that my ears were ringing for 2 hours after I got home. In terms of the food and drink spilled, some of the food spilled inside were peanuts, which my passenger was deathly allergic to. Furthermore, the van was on snow tires. Which offer poor handling and reduced fuel economy in the summer. And on top of this, the truck was way too big for what I needed, but it was all that was available in Sault Ste Marie. So I paid way more for the truck and gas than I needed to, which was especially frustrating.
