I live in Jacksonville and drove 4.5 hours to Margate to finally get my mother's things out of storage. I only had that one day, a Saturday, to meet with 2 people that had intended on buying the furniture I posted on Craiglist, and the rest of the time I was going to take everything to consignment and antique stores. I had to drive back to Jacksonville that night. I reserved a 15' truck so I could take everything to everyone. I called to make sure the truck was indeed there (because in my last experience with UHaul- the truck I had reserved was not there). I spoke with someone in customer service 1 hour prior to my pickup time and was told the truck was indeed there. I said I might be a little late and asked if that would jeopardize anything and was told no. I arrove a little late at the site. After waiting in line, I was told that the truck I had reserved, and that I had just inquired about, was not there. The first person I spoke to told actually tried to make it seem like it was my fault, saying I had changed the order (yes- a couple days prior) and that I was late (which as I was told, would not matter). I spoke with the manager who offered me a 10' truck, which did me no good because I needed the ramp for all of the very heavy furniture. I had to call the interested parties and tell them to please be patient while I tried to find a new truck. And had to call the person that was going to help me load everything. The manager said she had found another location with a truck available at 3:30 pm. It was already around 1:00 (?) by that point. The manager told me that I would be put in a queue and MIGHT get a call from another location IF another truck became available earlier. Walking back out to my car, I saw a 15' truck just sitting there, with no one apparently using it. I tried asking various workers outside and inside about that truck, and then finally the manager, and was told it was not available. I got out to my car and started calling around trying to find a truck. After more time elapsed, I got a call from the manager stating that the 15' foot I had seen was actually available after all. I finally did get back to the storage, and about killed myself rushing to load everything. Had to again contact everyone involved and communicate what was happening. In the extremely hurried process, I misplaced the screws that went with the bedroom set and left them in my car. I was very fortunate to able to sell the furniture to the interested parties (barely getting to one person before he was going to leave). But by the time all that was done, it was 4:30 pm and all of the other stores were closing soon. I managed to hit one other store and sold some things for a very, very discounted price. Everything else- worth at least $300 more- I had to donate. And I was fortunate of that, because they were already closing and only helped because they saw my great distress. Otherwise, I would have had to dump it all in the trash. The manager at Uhaul did give me a $50 credit. But I lost a lot of money that my mother and I sorely needed. I finally returned the truck around 6:00 pm. And had to rearrange everything in my car to try to accommodate what few things of value I had kept and thought I could squeeze in my car and could bring back to try to sell (I had completely packed my car with other things from the storage before trying to get the truck). And then had to drive another half an hour to give the buyer of the bedroom set the necessary screws. I did not get back to Jacksonville until 1:00 AM. When I initially arove at UHaul, 2 other people were also put in the same, ridiculous, completely unprofessional, and unforgivable position as me- they too did not have the trucks they had reserved. "What can you do to improve for the next customer?" Well what the hell do you think? Start by having the truck there that a person has reserved. As if UHaul has ever done anything to improve their horrific service. UHaul is directly responsible for me losing a lot of money. UHaul put me through an extreme amount of stress. Your customer service either had no clue or intentionally misled me. I will never use UHaul again. I will be sure to tell others the same. Regardless, nothing will ever change with UHaul. You actually have the gall to send out surveys and ask how you can improve? May all of the people that are responsible for UHaul's continued ineptitude experience the same level of service in their hour of need.
After an online reservation, including payment and driver license. You would think that getting a towable trailer would take less than 30 minutes. However, the check in process was very slow. I understand there was a new employee, but this was not the first time. As a customer who utilizes Uhauls services frequently there should be a quicker, maybe dedicated service to online reservations.
This location was fair. Nothing special. I don't know if the uhaul app is to blame for my horrible experience or the company as a whole. My reservation was originally for another location. They didn't have any trucks to rent. No call in advance. They ended up moving my reservation to a nearby location. Secondly, hours before my move, the movers I hired through uhaul app call me and say they â€œdon't do stairs.â€ Ridiculous.

The location didn't have the truck I reserved. The only pick up Truck available given to me smell really bad.

they messed up my order twice and when i called the 800 number they said that my order was not ready in Margate so they sent me to Pompano to pick up my truck and my auto transporter and when i got there they said we only have the truck and they called margate and they had the auto transporter so then they said after you load your truck go there and pick it up really it was wasting more of our time and then we got there to pick it up and then they said we had EVERYTHING for you this morning so they wasted more of my time and the lady i spoke to had no idea what she was doing. I was very disappointed with the whole uhaul experience and now they wont give me my money back from charging me 3 days for the auto transporter when i clearly only used it for 24 hours
The u-haul app is poorly designed and difficult to navigate. Therre was no support online or on the phone. It took an hour to figure out how to get the keys and for someone to answer the phone or approve the transaction. Why repeat information we have already provided? Terrible experience
Improve your reservation system... I book a rental and someone change it you 20 mile away. Then they told me I can pick it up late which throw off my entire day. When i went to pick it up. They said they didn't have any rental truck at that time.. I would never rent with you guys again and I will make sure I tell everyone. A lot of customer was experiencing this at that property location. Very poor service.

This was 24 miles from where I expected to pickup my rental. After making a reservation weeks in advance, this delay caused delays in my moving logistics. I had to chase after information to ensure I would get a truck on the day that I reserved one. The truck gas tank was empty. I had to stop and fill with gas. I had to sweep the inside before using. Terribly disappointed in U-Haul after routinely using them for the last 30 years.
All was well, no complaints!!
All the employees were very friendly I'm the girl behind the desk to the guy that I gave the truck to when I returned it also love the app that you can check in and make it so much quicker
Trailer should have a jack on front to lift up
I had ordered my U-Haul to be in Miami and due to an overbooked mistake on their part, they send me to Margate. I understood that mistakes happen so I drove 45 minutes to my destination. 15 minutes into my drive back to Miami, the oil change light turn on. I decided to go to the North Miami U-Haul since it was closer than having to drive all the way back to Margate and delate my move. The North Miami U-Haul team was rude and did not wanted to take responsibility for the Oil change. The maintenance worker told me "This is not our truck, so it isn't our problem. You need to take it to Margate." Once I told him it was extremely out of the way and just wanted to make sure I could make it safely to Orlando without damaging the truck or risking an unsafe drive, he proceeded to tell me that he thought it would be ok to drive to Orlando by just looking at the light without even checking the motor.
Don't know but poor customer satisfaction
Everithing ok, except it took a little time to the lady that helped us, due was arranging other problem
Windshield wipers didn't work well. They gave the trailor tow i had to someone else and I had to drive to boca raton to pick it up or wait over am hour to have it delivered. Wjen I got there and put the car on the trailor the type of car I have was not the right size for the trailor and the bumper went over the metal, wherw if the car came off it would pull the bumper. The guy's response was that I had full coverage insurance.
