Reluctantly I am posting this negative review and I hesitate because I know as a business owner myself negative reviews have a huge impact. On 4/22/19 I rented a 26 foot truck and moved one load. I picked up the truck at 10 am and from SSC Auto Repair. From there to the residence it is 3.7 miles. From the old house to the new house it is 6.6 miles. From the new house back to SSC Auto Repair 6.9 miles. When I add those numbers up I am totaling at 17.2. My debit card was charged for 58 miles that day. $118.00 Over charged by $42.00 I told Gaucho that it seemed high and he told me all he can do is go by what is in the system. Being tired and trusting Iust said ok and booked another truck for the next day. On April 23, 2019 I picked up a 15 jfoot truck and ended up doing three loads that day. So traveling a total of 50.2 miles and my total was $104.00 Gaucho refused to do any kind research or investigation on my behalf. He told me I needed to go to uhaul and take it up with them. I explained that I personally worked in Uhaul Corporate on Central right out of high school so I know how the company is. That the situation does not need to escalate over a mistake of $42.00 He would not let me talk to a manager so I told him I was not authorizing him to charge my account for the $104.00 because it doesnt make sense. He then told me he needed to close it out and I would never be able to use Uhaul again. I know this is a very simple solution that should have been handled there locally. Its simple. Its the principle of the matter but the lack of concern and the responses I was given when eplaining all of this was that I signed a contract and I go by what the system says. So I also need to mention that in the contract I found a hand written note that says "corner cap is torn with a temporary aluminum tape repair. Customer accepts the risk of water damage." I found that note today. I told Gaucho I trusted him and took the truck that morning unaware of any pre-existing damage and he needed to disclose that to me. SO now I have an act of dishonesty. This is a big deal. I have a moving company and when I do not have equipment available I come to uhaul. I have enjoyed and appreciated my relationship with Uhaul since I was 17 years old! I would not send anyone to SSC or even come back myself because I was pretty much told there was nothing they would do to fix this and in turn I was now not going to be able to rent any equipment from Uhaul again. All of this over a simple typo or just clerical error and $42.00. Unbelievable.

Great work, by far the cleanest rental I have had. The trailer chains, straps, and tires were in what looked like brand new condition. The service person that helped get the trailer hooked up was very professional.

I was told by the pickup location that the delivery location was open til 4 and they were closed on the weekend. Either the software needs updating or your employees need better training.

Got the wrong dolly. I got a utility dolly instead of furniture dolly that I ordered. When I went back to return the dolly they didn't have a furniture dolly so I had to go to another Uhaul to get the furniture dolly. No discount was given.

I was using their mobile pick-up service for my U-haul. I had issues with using the website to pick-up my U-haul. The website instructed me to find a specific U-haul, which I did. The customer service person prompted me that I needed to enter my DL# for my profile, so I backed out to enter that info. I then tried to click back to my reservation, but I couldn't figure out how to get back to that screen and the person said I had to contact their phone customer service. I called them and they tried to create a new reservation, but that didn't work. They had to transfer me to another person and finally figured out that I had to click on a different option to pull-up my reservation. Then the website said I needed to go back of the U-haul and enter a code for the lock and get the key in the back of the bed of the U-haul. Unfortunately, that U-haul that I was supposed to get didn't have a lock. There was a U-haul right in front that had a lock and already had the code entered, so anyone could have opened it up and take the keys. I was still on the line with the customer service person and they had to change the reservation. The hopes of quick pick up using their website ending up taking over an hour with all the mix ups. If there are no hiccups, I'm sure it would have been quick, unfortunately that wasn't the case and I think next time I'll reserve with a branch that actually has a person that I can get the keys from.

I disagree with the charges for cleaning. We will know better next time to write down all issues when we pick up a truck. We did not leave any stains on the seat - they must have been there. We didn't even lift up the center console!

Vehicle trailer had a burned out taillight which I didn’t notice until it was too late. Also when car was strapped in by SSC it came undone before I made it a few blocks to a gas station.

The truck was only 1/8 full and the contract said 1/2. We contracted for a on-way trip including 400 miles but they charged me for 358 miles - then told me they couldn't fix it and I had to call U-Haul. Customer service did fix both issues - so I rate customer service a 10 and this location a 1 or zero. We will never go there again!
