It was a little smaller than expected and I wasn't sure if all my items for the unit had the ability to all fit in it and there was this step that was inside my unit that also would have gotten in the way of my storing items in it. Otherwise everything else for the unit was fine and seemed very secure. Was inquiring about my security insurance deposit. Still waiting for that response. However, I Definitely will consider and recommend using U-haul again.

Michael D | First ImpressionsMany issues with the trailer rental not once but 3 times the morning we went to pick up which made our speedy check out impossible. We reserved ahead and still got the wrong trailer.. 3 times, going back in. Then when they did finally get us the trailer we requested… went out to hook up and the trailer wasn't even in the lot so they were just going to hook up to another one available. When I asked for the paperwork to match the number on the trailer for liability.. it was like we were a burden to them.. clearly it seems as if there are issues with the trailers not being where they should be we didn't want our name on something that was not correct especially if something where to happen I wanted it documented on paper to have in this situation. We have used your company many years and recommend to many people definitely was the worst experience thus far..

Kyesha C | First ImpressionsThe overall rental experience online was problematic, with the site being overly overtaken. The site seems unnecessarily over-compartmentalized, having to transfer from one screen/part of the user interface to another, multiple times. Being told on the phone by a customer service representative that the truck I was renting would be onsite when it was not, was inconvenient as I had to drive further into town to secure it. Having the truck/trailer/U-Box rental facility on site with the storage facility would make more sense logistically, and for customer service needs. It would make more business sense to have that all at one location, not scattered all over Saint Joseph, MO. As far as the condition of the contents of my U-Box rental, a number of items were damaged, and will require repair or replacement. I had tightly packed the U-box from floor to ceiling, and back to front. There was no space left when I closed and locked the door to the container. When I opened the U-Box at the U-Haul storage facility, quite a few items spilled out. A number of plastic tote containers and boxes looked like they had been shaken and bounced around as if they had been in a rock tumbler. Another problematic issue was that U-Haul could not directly deliver my U-Box rental to the town that I was moving to. I had to drive 40 minutes, out of state to recover the contents of my U-Box rental, and subsequentially rent a 10ft box truck from U-Haul to transport my items another 40 minutes back to my home state. As a result of this inconvenience, I will not rent a U-Box again, and will go with another pod moving service in the future if that need should ever arise again. As for my customer service experiences, both at the U-Haul Storage and truck rental facilities, those were the only redeeming factors. I can't say enough just how much I appreciated Kristi Jamvold, and the level of customer service she rendered. Kristi was the U-Haul representative that helped me facilitate one of the only positive experiences with U-Haul I've had with this current service order. She is friendly, thoughtful, and is very efficient at her job. Kristi adapted quickly to my changing moving needs, and did so without missing a beat. Kristi made our day yesterday in moving my U-Box out of the loading bay where we could access it easily, transferring the contents to the 10ft U-Haul truck that Kristi made sure we would be able to rent. The representatives at the truck rental facility was very kind, and made sure I rented the right truck for the last leg of my 1,100 mile moving journey. Kristi and the other representatives salvaged my U-Haul experience, and I can't say enough at just how thankful I am for their efforts in accommodating my needs. They are truly positive, valuable assets to U-Haul.
Mitchell NIt said I was to receive my "free" lock in the unit.... Unit was empty. Good thing I had old lock from a previous rental.

My 4 U-box's arrived in Saint Joseph Mo. 3 days late, called the uhaul 800 number every day for an update, but was never able to receive a status of the box's arrival.
Robert MTried several times to reach the manager via email and cell and had no luck. Location ladies need more help they are always busy and rarely can answer the phone. We get transferred to customer service when we need to talk to our local people. All of our rentals were handled smoothly and friendly with the local ladies at the Belt location but the two times we had to deal with the Kansas City office/depot was HORRIBLE. They are rude, dont listen and clearly dont care about customer relations!!!!!

The units we were first assigned were already in use and locked with red locks. Then our key card would not work, the PIN code would not work. We had to make 3 trips back to the office. We decided to NOT rent a storage unit from U-Haul. The staff was unprofessional and the office site was dirty and disorganized. Prices are also higher than other local companies with much better facilities and service. I would NEVER recommend U-Haul for a storage solution.

The other thing when I moved outI notified U-Haul that I was out of my unit no one inspected it or check me out because I got a reminder to pay my rent the following month. Otherwise the facility is nice secure clean and I would use it again

I requested the box to be delivered on a certain day and nowhere did it state you had to have contact with me before delivery. Nowhere did it state my box would be stored over an hour away making it impossible to unload at the site to avoid your ridiculous costs. This was a complete nightmare that cost me more than I was quoted. Worst experience ever and will never use uhaul in the future

People in Rancho Mirage ( Curtis was owner) packed our furniture hap-hazardly in tiny u-Hauls. People weren't on time. We should have had 2 mid-sized trucks rather than the 9 units packed in CA. Our move came in 2 shifts: one half came in June, and one half followed in August. The last u-Haul looked as if someone repacked the unit & threw items in. Husband's table saw was on top of a recliner. Tables looked like someone purposely hacked the tops. No pads were used in the last unit! The movers here were terrific. Careful, courteous and more than willing to do what was necessary for moving. They were appalled when they saw the last trailer - said there was no need of such a display of what looked like predetermined animosity!!!

I loaded my inventory and went to the storage unit to find there was no lock so I had to haul everything back home. I tried to contact the Uhaul phone number 3 different times and after sitting on the phone for 45 minutes plus every time I never got to talk to anyone. Customer service contact really needs to change. That is terrible customer service. It is ridiculous that I can't call my local office and get this taken care of. After visiting the local office in person (twice), I finally got a lock and a unit closer to the door which I wanted but couldn't pick when reserving online. Now, I have paid for this unit for a full week without being able to use it. Terrible customer service so far!

The cluster was cracked horribly, the key got stuck in the ignition, the steering wheel was all over the place, the window turner was missing, and it drove like it didn't have much power.

Luckily I was just putting my lock on it and wasn't bringing in boxes. I will wait until another time when there isn't someone very rudely blocking the doors. There was no one to be found, the truck seemed abandoned but then later when I drove by it was gone. Please put. up signs or something so people know not to block those garage doors.
