Check engine light is on in the van

Darrell P.I came to get my stuff out of storage with movers on 7.26. There was a different lock on my storage. There were no notes in the account and I was told it was because I had a different lock on it. The lock that was given to me did not fit on the storage so one of your workers, Rob sold me a lock. I had to have a worker drill the lock off while my movers were waiting. Maybe if Rob wasn't so worried about getting my phone number and asking to take me out, he could have done his job correctly.

Mary W.I had reserved my U-Haul at the Interbay location in Seattle, but upon arrival I was told that the did not have a truck for me and the reservation had been changed to another location further away in Othello. This took an extra 3hours out of our day trying to get to and from Othello due to travel times and U-Hauls mistake. Now I am being charged extra for U-Haul's mistake. I was never informed that my reservation location was changed. I did not get a call, text, or email about this. I should be charged for 20miles less than what is on the receipt because that was not my decision to switch the location to a much further area. If I had known the location was switched to Othello, I would have used another company and cancelled my reservation. This was massively frustrating and inconvenient on an already long day. I will not be recommending U-Haul to anyone I know based on this experience alone. To remedy this, U-Haul will reduce my cost by the difference in mileage from the Interbay location to the Othello location and back, which doesn't even account for time/energy lost on this interaction. Errol M.Communication needs improvement. I have already filed a customer complaint as I would like to explain what happened here. This was overall a terrible experience and made moving across the country much worse than anticipated.
Preston R.Truck had broken exhaust, right rear outer was way past the wear indicator, oil level went to add, drivers door seal whistled the whole trip ( top front) and hydro boost brakes went to emergency electrical back up twice.
Kerby G.This vehicle felt like it was on its last limb. I honestly felt danger at times, but had to finish my move. The vehicle also smelled like dog food which wasn't pleasant. I think this vehicle should be cleaned internally or possibly purchase a new truck?

JACKY L. | Overall ExperienceThe problem is with the central office, not the Othello Station. After receiving a call back from a scheduler and agreeing on specifics, I received an email confirming my reservation. When I showed up at the Othello Station to pick up my truck, they did not have one in the size I reserved but offered me one six feet shorter. I had to wait quite a while to talk on speakerphone to someone from the central U-Haul office, who scolded me and raised her voice, arguing that I had a truck request, not a reservation, and that I was read a disclaimer stating this when I reserved it. That was not the case, and my email stated that I had a reservation. I ended up paying laborers extra time to make multiple trips because we had a small truck. The Othello Station employees were wonderful to work with and very supportive, but they could not do much about it. When I told the movers about the problem, they said that U-Haul is the worst for this kind of thing and any other truck company is better to go with: Ryder, Penske, even Dolly.
Rose G.Location as okay, however many things were wrong and still are! 1) I did the self check in thing but the person working just ran in and gave me a key, but didn't completely check me out. So when I went to return the truck after hours the app did not give me an option to return, I had to sit on hold for 30 minutes in an empty/sketchy parking lot. (Person in the phone was very Helpful though) 2) I paid for the appliance Dolly, but it was not in there. I had to run back and ask for it. 3) since the check out process was broken since I wasn't checked in correctly , I got the invoice the next day which has an extra charge I didn't ask for for “safe mover†insurance. So again I had to wait on hold just go get this credit back 4) now a week later I get a text saying I have unpaid invoice. But I already paid. But it it saying I owe still. But when I get to the link it says I have a credit. So now I don't know what is going on or if uhaul thinks I owe money or how to get the refund I am owed back

We used a cargo van, the guy assisting us was great, but I am extremely dissatisfied with the online booking situation. Why book a month ahead of time, take off of work and not be alerted that there wouldn't be a truck. We made the cargo van work, but it was Not the same.

Also, there's no music playing, so you just here complaints, and heavy sighs the entire time. Two chairs for a line of customers isn't ample. I'm a disabled Veteran & standing in a slow moving line made moving day much harder. Please take care of customers & staff, U-Haul! The good stuff: Prices are reasonable. 10' truck was clean, new, and a.c. worked well. Treyvon at Othello was clutch, helping two customers simultaneously after another rep had to leave. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and very efficient - thank you!

Honestly I've never EVER been more screwed over in my entire life. I ended up having to throw 2/3rds of my stuff in the trash because they refused to drop my ubox off at my apartment, then refused to let me have access to it. So yeah, F U uhaul. Over my dead body will I ever use you idiots ever again.

ALEX J.The woman who was there on Sunday was wonderful. I had some difficulties picking up the van due to the online verification process but she really knew her stuff and let me know what to expect. Drop off was also very easy. I also confused about the return process though since after I returned the van I saw that on my U-haul account online it looked like I was supposed to check out online when I returned the van which I didn't. I also hadn't received a receipt that evening about the U-haul I returned, so I panicked and ended up calling the main HQ helpline which took forever to get ahold of someone. They re-assured me but the whole process was really stressful. I would highly recommend this U-haul location however, I feel unsure if I really want to go through U-haul again because of the difficulty picking up the van as well as the confusing return process.

ABDIRASHID Y.Despite arriving around 6:52 PM the staff told me I would need to use the night checkout because they were closing soon. In other words, they didn't want to help me because they would have had to stay a few extra minutes. So, I attempted to use the app to return the truck but it repeatedly timed out. After a frustrating 1-hour experience I left the keys without checking out via the app and had to call the 1-800 number this morning in order to ensure the truck was properly checked in and I wasn't charged extra. It was a terrible experience.

JULIUS S.The equipment always has a dirty truck bed and an interior that needs vacuumed or have dust and other contaminants wiped down inside. Waiting at the drop off location to return the truck was slow and I had to go inside the building twice to try and return the truck. The staff is nice and helpful but service is slow I suspect due to being short staffed.

Second vehicle would not drive straight it had a crooked front wheel turned right by itself had to return it unload to another vehicle. Third vehicle kept getting warning lights on the dashboard twice the vehicle would overrev requiring us to pull over and stop the oil pressure gage would peg out when I checked the oil it was sludge had to add oil twice along the way. We are very disappointed and exhausted from the trip would like to be compensated for our troubles. Gracias.
