I have had a very frustrating experience dealing with UHaul! I have been a long-time customer who just received notice that each UBox I had was going to increase by $40/month! I tried to schedule a delivery of my boxes to get out of them before the price increase which took my over 3 hours on the phone to schedule after extremely long hold times and no availability for delivery only to be told that the delivery rate increased by $69! I live in a HOA situation and left detailed delivery instructions (including photos) through your online delivery confirmation system. Upon receiving my 1st 2 boxes they were left in a completely wrong location on the other side of the block from my driveway and garage! I was also told that I had to call, confirm and pay for each delivery and could do this over the phone using a credit card and did so only to find out that UHaul ran whatever form of payment they had on file anyway! I was told that I would not be charged for 2 of the boxes since I would be returning them empty before the billing period and I was STILL charged for them and then had to spend 3 hours on the phone with customer service to get a refund processed!! I also returned 2 boxes 7 days into the month and the ;last box 14 days in tot he month without any partial return of premium! The UBoxes were in horrible condition and my belongings inside had obviously been jostled about over the course of time due to movement at the warehouse / storage facility! I feel that I have had a horrible experience with UHaul and will NOT be recommending your company to anyone I know! I was told that the reason for rate increase was due to supply / demand! Did it ever occur to you folks that the reason their is more demand is because people are having to downsize, move and put their belongings into storage due to the financial strain of the ongoing pandemic!?! You are taking advantage of people misfortune and trapping those of us who were loyal customers in the process, forcing us out due to the nearly 100% rate increase!!! I think UHaul has behaved badly in this situation, you are horrible and greedy! You should just invested in more boxes and more storage space instead of raising rates for existing clients and continuing to blame burden and strain on those in need of your services! SHAMEFUL!!!!Lauren C.

When I showed up, on time, to get my reservation, there was no one there to welcome me and I had to walk all through the campus just to find someone. Was slow service, but only because they are short staffed. Service was friendly but only 2 people it seemed running a bunch of stuff.Russell N.
I made a reservation many weeks ago with the expectation I would have the truck as outlined in the reservation. Rose City was supposed to be my pickup point. I got a Lyft from PDX to that address. They knew NOTHING of the reservation. I had my reservation #. The guy at Rose said it WAS at the McLoughlin location but had been canceled because i did not get at 9am. Who every changed the location also stated that i would pickup at 9. My plane landed at PDX at 1015. I received no change of pickup location. Then the guy at Rose tells me it would not be available until 5pm, it was 1130am. Im horribly discussed with UHaul. I called Uhaul to vent but found out the truck was ready at 2pm. Failure to communicate AGAIN. UHaul owes me for the extra Lyft ride I had to pay for and my time due to your extreme lack of communication and customer service. The folks at Uhaul storage of Milwaukie were great. Others at Corporate are horrible.DAVID C.

I am very dissatisfied with the whole transaction. Bad lack of communication between traffic and actual center/location rental was picked up. Big difference in quote on phone and what they tried charging me and it was rented with a 1/4 tank gas and I returned it with 3/8 tank and they tried charging me a $30.00 fuel fee and an $18.46 4 gallon gas fee. The guy that helped me out was so rude. I showed up at 6:30pm for my reservation appt and he was so worried about leaving at 7. There was 2 people infront of me. A lady was asking him at storage units and he looked at her and said we didn't my have any. He didn't even check for her. I get up there around 6:40 and he claims the computer wasn't working and he was like idk if I can rent to you tonight. I said yes your renting to me tonight I was here at my appt time and I'm packing up and leaving before you guys open. He tells me my total and it was $100 more then quoted. I needed a little dolly and a furniture dolly. So I tell him. He then proceeded to ask me if I really needed them so he didn't have to go get them. He runs to the back area gets me a huge dolly. Comes out and hands it to me. I said I need the furniture flat roller dolly too, he proceeded to roll his eyes and said I literally almost just died getting that for you. I said I'm sorry but I told you what I needed 3 other times. He goes and gets it puts it on the ground. He gave me keys and said ok I have to close up now and leave. I said ummmm where is the truck? He said oh it's out there. So I'm now carries the flat roller thing, and pulling this huge dolly as he watches me. I said there is 100s of trucks which one he said it's on spot fff. I get over there he had that truck so close to each other that I had to put the roller thing in front. I squeeze to the back and he packed it and hit the truck grind it bumper. So I pull forward mean while he is still watching me. Open the back try to lift the heavy dolly up and he leaves as soon as he noticed a car pulled in. I went to leave and he he didn't move any of the retired trucks and I got the joys of maxing around cars to exit the parking lot. I looked at the clock at it was around 6:55. My jaw just dropped. He is the worst. I had the worst Experience. He didn't tell me anything. Gas? Cleaning? My boyfriend told me about the gas. I will not go back to this location. Kid is so rude.Kayla H.

It was my third rental in a couple of months. The place is always busy, regardless of the time of day. The manager Ron is amazing, he stays calm and professional. He is very polite and is always smiling. The service is as prompt as it can be and the equipment clean and ready to go. I'd recommend anyone in the Milwaukie OR area to go there.Frank A.

Two lamp shades were ripped/smashed. One was $194 for a large lamp. I couldn't withhold pmt for the Bend OR movers who unloaded since it was the fault of the Portland OR movers who packed them incorrectly. Very inconvenient for me. There were many other UHaul rental places closer to my home yet UHaul required me to drive 20 miles each way to pick up this truck. The customer service people were very little help. I ask simple questions like â€œhow far can I go on a tank of gas?â€ None of them knew. â€œWhat size tank does it have?â€ again none of the 4 people at the counter knew. I got in the truck with a customer service person putting my rented blankets in the back, I expected her to come around to the cab and confirm I knew the basic operations of the truck, instead she walked off without a wave or glance back. I sat for a bit figuring out essentials like lights, wipers, etc before finally leaving. The staff were fine, just not terribly friendly or interactive. They seemed to do the basic job with no extended courtesies.MERLYNN A.

The guys running it were really nice but it's took over a half hour to check out and forty minutes to check back in after doing everything online beforehand. The computers don't work, I couldn't use a credit card to rent it then after paying cash couldn't get a refund at the end cause there was no record of me even renting it in the first place. I have no idea what happened on the back end, but I had to contact Uhaul 3 different ways today (online, over the phone, and finally in-person) in order to resolve a miscommunication about a cargo van rental I had already completed. A representative I spoke with over the phone claimed that I would receive a call back from the location, which I never received, thus I had to go down there in person to confirm that everything with my return was squared away. It ate up quite a bit of my time today and happened because no one had recorded my returning the van after I had dropped the keys with an employee. Although my issue was eventually resolved, things seem quite disorganized and disconnected at this location in particular and it needs some tightening up.MATTHEW ESTEVENS H.

Site took care of the semi and quickly checked me in and completed the process as well as emailed a copy. Very efficient process and highly effective representative doing the job of two people. There are people smoking drugs and living inside at least two units at this location. You can smell chemical odors when you drive by their open units, that appear never to close, only to get tarped closed. They also jump out and scream at you randomly while visiting your own unit. This went on for 4+ months. I attempted to message you via your website but got cut off multiple times. As a busy person with a business, it took me some time to find another option. But I'm thankful I did. As we were leaving another homeless person with a large full shopping cart was moving into the storage unit down the hall. Our lock looked like it had been tampered with and the unit door looked like it had been bent at the bottom. I've always had good service by you folks at other locations. This location is just horrible and needs to be rebought by corporate. The employees are unfriendly and unhelpful. I feel like they owe me for at least half of my rent back, due to negligence. General manager let's people live in there storage units! They are homeless people! When I talked to Ron he was very Rude and not wanting to do anything about it! I was told that he has a lot of Nice homeless people living there!!! The facility is not a home to live in. The whole place is filthy with used needles and garbage all over! I had to move out the next day. I was talked to horrible from Ron. I was also told that I should go look at other storage places they have the same thing going on there! Every time I went there I had to go to the office and report a problem. Mostly talking to Ron. I never felt that my stuff was secure there. Really all I have to say it WAS THEY WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A UHAUL! Thank goodness the 3 people I talked to on October 3rd 2020 were very helpful and understanding on what is happening there. Also Ron I did get a refund for a whole month there because of you! I am looking forward to talking to his boss soon and I am not going to hold anything back from him. I will never tell anyone to go to this location because of the general manager there. I have never been so disrespected from any MAN as I was with RON!!
