I had a problem with the trailer and the person who checked me in was very rude and the customer service person was very bad. He later apologized but customer service was not good in the beginning. I have rented multiple trailers and always had a good experience until this.

We found another employee who opened the door so we could access our box. He just had to push a button. We were very frustrated by the rude and dismissive customer service by the Milwaukie, OR U-Haul manager.

There is no way one employee could handle everything , made me nervous that something might have been missed on the truck for maintenance ? it was pouring down rain , was impossible to see any dents , dings , scratches , no covered area to inspect the truck , no way of know if it was maintained ?

MIKAL SI will take the blame for not asking when I rented the unit if they were a franchise and I wouldn't be able to make changes, etc. from any U Haul location, as I live across the country in a different State, although I never though to ask that question as this was my first experience storing items for my daughter, needless to say I ended up paying 3 years for a storage unit until I could move her back to Portland to retrieve her belongings. If she hadn't been in the hospital with a 20% chance of living when I stored everything, this would have never happened. Thankfully she survived, but this location was less than helpful to say the least.

DAVID AThe attitude and demeanor of the clerk named Cody was terrible. I called one day before pickup and Cody was rude and condescending. The day of pickup the clerk told me to answer the text sent to take pictures etc. app would not load on my phone so I go back inside store to ask about procedure and was again met with rude and condescending attitude. Poor poor customer service... I suggest Cody get properly trained to be at least neutral to customers not rude to someone who politely asks what the terminology means and to explain without simply repeating slower and louder....
Corey LI was not aware that there is a charge of $1.59 a mile on top of the daily rental. Make sure you tell the customer there is a difference between local and out of local charges.

THOMAS AWhen I arrived to pick up the truck rental the employee was VERY stressed out because he was working by himself and had several customers waiting for rentals etc..lots of swearing and even slammed his clipboard on the table. I told the employee that I wasn't in a hurry and not to feel any pressure from me. I walked out to inspect the truck and saw multiple dents/scrapes that were not noted by the "x" sticker. I went back into have the employee come out and take a look and he told me to take pictures of all the damage and that would suffice. I have never been told this by a Uhaul employee. If you want to see pics I can send them to you. The truck periodically starts bouncing and won't stop for a minute or two (around 30 mph speed). The truck hadn't been washed (Inside and out) and was in very poor cosmetic shape. I guarantee that I will not return to that Uhaul location.

CARL CYour reservation system and card readers *must* be more reliable. I reserved a dollie but there were none in-store. I had to go to a second location. The system tried to add furniture blankets to my order several times. Work out your tech issues. It's causing undue stress on your employees and inconvenience for your customers.

ROSANN RThe only thing that could have been improved is that the web interface said that pickups were available at that location. When I went to the store there were no pickups. The previous renters had not yet returned them. The staff was amazing and got me a cargo van instead, but I'm wondering why the web interface said pickups were available when they were not. The van was great and the staff was excellent. But if I really needed a pickup, that would have been a problem.
Linda FI drove up to the equipment drop lane and waited almost a half hour before I lost my patience and had to track down a person who was the GM per his shirt. He basically just told me I had to wait longer. I used the app to go through the entire drop opp procedure myself. Plus I returned the truck off almost a day early and with half a tank of gas. I want to be compensated for the extra gas & the poor customer service!

ANNE MTrailer had nail/screw In tires . Very rusty and flimsy trailer . Felt very unsafe using and worst quality of trailer I've used within this company. The person who we saw in person at the location that checked us out had a massive attitude and was very much a smart ass and had no patience. I am seriously contemplating not using Uhaul as a moving service in the future and will be telling those I know about the service.
ROBERT BThe location itself feels dingy and somewhat disorganized. But the manager Cody Strage goes out of his way to give good service. So do the rest of the staff. I appreciate that UHaul is a source for vehicle hitches, installtion, and even bike racks.

Emily T | Overall ExperienceThe sign at this location said to wait in the vehicle until a Uhaul employee comes out to meet you. I waited 5 minutes and went inside. A employee at the counter greeted me and asked if I needed a receipt and I said yes. She then said I will have to wait until she gets help because they need to go through the truck inspection with me but if I would accept a emailed receipt I could leave immediately. I chose to leave and the receipt was emailed a short time later. Not great service but I believe they were under staffed.
DANNY LThe equipment i wanted: hand truck, blankets, and lifting strap's, were not provided with my mobile pick up. This was a massive inconvenience. That's why i selected, "no" but the limited questions asked in the survey doesn't give an accurate reflection of satisfaction. The truck was clean and functional to be fair.
Kenneth CIn total, I had three customer service calls that were all perfect. The first location that I picked up from was great. The drop off was just as easy and perfect as everything else. I now look forward to my next U-Haul experience that hopefully isn't towing my car because I blew the engine. Drop off has seemed to be an exceptional pain point for me, but this location was flawless. Thank you again.

STEVEN HHad a billing issue where we billed more than the amount due. Tried to resolve it with Cody, but he was too busy and angry to care. He hung up on me. Left negative feedback on google. Doing a chargeback on the overpayment amount. Mala experiencia.
Joseph CWe were charged a deposit, then the remainder of the amount due. Fine. Then we were charged the full amount again. I called Cody who didn't care at all, and told me this was fine and said not to worry because the double charge would eventually be released from our account. U-haul should never charge more than the total amount due, and has no right to "hold" any funds once the amount due is paid in full. Very unprofessional. Left feedback on google, and doing a chargeback on our credit card due to double billing / overbilling. Tried to resolve the issue with Cody but he hung up on me.

Joseph CWe rented on July 16-17. We were not charged until July 31, for the full amount, and Aug 1 for another $186, even though we were already fully paid. I called and Cody answered and told me how double charging my card, and locking up my money so I can't use it, was just fine. He then hung up on me. Horrible customer service. Left feedback with google. Never using u-haul again.

The location is quite busy, so I had to wait for a while each time I needed something. But they tried to make sure i knew they'd seen me, set expectations of time when possible, etc.

And they are a little pricey compared to all other facilities. But the entrance hours were nice.

And just over all rude when talking to you about it. In my opinion way over priced for all the BS.

I couldn't access my storage. I put in the code and it said "kalvin you're checked in" but the store never unlocked so I could open it! I couldn't find the manager on site. No one answered the phone including the facility manager whose text number I had from the card. So i had to drive the truck to my sisters house, past my drop off time and using extra miles, to store my stuff in her garage temporarily.

I hope this helps ID her. She was spectacular!! Originally I was slated to move into two smaller, middle of the building units then right as my moving help arrived, she realized that there was ONE larger unit. Turns out that unit was filled right to the door and was the perfect size for my stuff. What a great first experience of kindness in my new home. I had moved from IL to OR and was just road weary and because I am using the storage, technically "homeless" at the moment. Her kindness lifted a heavy burden and made my life just a bit better in that moment. Kudos to her and to the management for hiring and promoting human kindness.

Instead, I was given two smaller and extremely inconvenient units- inside and upstairs where we couldn't bring the truck (it would have been hours of backbreaking work to unload and re-pack. The staff were not friendly or apologetic. I cancelled the reservation and went to Public Storage, where everything was incredibly smooth, easy and comfortable. When I returned the truck the next day, I had barely opened the door to check in when the person at the desk yelled at me from across the store that he didn't need anything from me and to leave the truck and go. My experience with the truck and pick up in LA was good, but I will never return and will never recommend U-HAUL storage. Public Storage was a far superior experience.

Deborah V | First ImpressionsMy husband and I arrived at our local u-haul facility after a 9 hour haul. We had confirmed reservations for drop-off and storage unit. However, the clerk disappeared when he couldnt find us in the system and some time later a manager appeared. He stated that I had no such reservation for storage or drop-off. There were about ten frustrating minutes of the manager stating (almost taunting) "We don't have your reservation and you SHOULD have the paperwork in hand". I let him know, as a manager, that to blame the person for the FU done by U-haul was in bad taste. When I made a call to corporate U-haul, they found our reservation right away. The manager still refused to process me or even look in the computer during the call. When U-Haul sent over the reservation directly his manner changed instantly. Suddenly I was a paying customer and not a vagabond looking for a free box to crash in. Even so, they were out of the storage unit, a 5x10 space. we had reserved to unload our belongings. So, a 10x10 was finally located and it was 2 times the cost. And the space was down a harrowing tunnel of fluorescence and metal doors that would have been ever so tedious to traverse and painstakingly slow to move items on a small cart down such a long hallway. We decided to put our stuff in a shed and forego any more transactions with u-haul. I would not recommend this U-Haul location bc management is rude and the line was so long. Several customers were told that the trucks or storage that they had reserved were not available due to overbooking and shortage of equipment.
