We originally tried to rent at the Sherwood Tualatin Road location. However even though there cargo vans and pick up trucks outside the young man (heavier guy with dark hair) immediately stated he could not rent them to us as they were reserved for four hours later. I only needed the rental for almost two hours and we live down the road from that location. I was using it to move a mattress and a bed frame. Hardly anything that would take four hours. It's just very rude to immediately state what cannot be done to a customer. A great customer service person would share; â€œI'm sorry, those are reserved but here is what I might be able to fo for you if interestedâ€¦â€ So we ended up at the Mcwean location in Tualatin and that gentleman was more than helpful.BRIAN CHRISTOPHE H.

Leaving my belongings in storage for a year was initially an anxiety-creating idea. So I loved that U-Haul offered a solution that was so secure, temperature controlled and easy to manage online while I was away. The staff were also very accommodating when I misunderstood the reason for the two lock slots and were patient with me as I was travelling Ana couldn't return immediately to remove one of my locks. I had made a reservation that morning, of course with someone in another state, because that's how U Haul does business. When I got to the location for the truck, the wrong sized truck had been given to me and I had to get another truck. It was difficult, annoying and a time delay.DARRIENE F.
I received two packs of furniture pads when this process started. My estimated bill shows four packs were included. The UBox is on its way to Michigan when the final bill will be calculated. Stop using old pictures for insurance or capital gain. Give current and real photos so that customers won't be fooled. The pics on the app were as though the unit was new. And it was not. Be forthright and honest. That's all.ANTHONY M.
Each person i connected with was helpful and friendly. The only issue i encountered was confusing billing. I was never certain of the "first month rent free". Because we moved all we owned out of state it was a bit confusing to track each ubox as they are incredibly small compared to other companies. Which made me have to order 10. This is a large expense for moving. And difficult to pack.Stacie C.
Of all the locations I've been to this one has been by far the best run. Fast and professional service with very knowledgeable people. Great hours all week to help with pickups and returns. They made it easy. I had to do the initial inspection process in the dark, in the rain and on my phone (late fall in Portland Ore.). Wasn't easy to see without any light and the rain coming down. The uhaul process for inspection didn't take in to account this situation and I guess I got lucky that there wasn't anything wrong with the truck.ADAM JAMES K.

The after hours return process was not explained to me. Thus, I locked the rental and dropped the key before finding out I had to take a photo of the fuel gauge and odometer readings along with photos of the rental upon return. I then found out I would be charged an additional $20 as a convenience fee. The gas tank was almost empty when I picked the truck up. I didn't notice until we had driven it home (3 miles) and loaded it. The low fuel light came on when I started it up. It cost me $95 to fill the tank.Jaime S.

They didn't have any moving blankets on site, even though I reserved them a month in advance, plus they forget to actually put the utility dolly I had reserved in my truck before I left, so I had to pick both of those up at another location . . . . but other than that, a top notch place :) I really liked the curbside drop-off when I brought the eqpt back. I like this location, the staff is friendly and wait times are usually short. It is easy to get in and out of the location. My only complaint is the website, with the primary issue that each order is randomly duplicated in the reservation section making it confusing for the user. But this is NOT a location issue. I reserved a truck online, but it wasnt for long enough and I was going 600 miles round trip. Talked to someone very friendly online they helped me out by doing a one way but said I could return it to the same location. it came through as one day. So I called back talked to someone very nice they switched it to 5 days for me added the mileage and was given $500 something. Great! I show up to the location, they tell me that they have conflicting information at the rental is for one day, wait 20 min and they sort it out, it is now $700 dollars little bummed but figured maybe some error happened. The next day I get a call asking where the truck is, I guess it had been changed back to a 1 one day. I asked it i was going to get more charges they said the order just had to be changed the correct day. Was annoyed by this time but figured it was sorted out. On Sunday I got another call expecting it back and they it was ok to bring in monday morning like I originally planned. Went in monday morning dropped off the truck, wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get extra charges, the guy was very nice said he would make sure before they would double check everything before submitting it. I get an email later saying I was charge an additional 3 days for $162. Went from $500 to $700 to $862.TODD C.

The help from the staff at the local storage site and dispatch was very good and they did all they could so I could empty the containers. The truck was fine. The service was less than competent. My credit card was charged improperly and had to call later to correct the mistakes. And while I rented 2 utility dollies, truck had only one in it when I opened it. My advice to U-Haul: pay your employees more, offer decent benefits, and attract more capable people to work in your rental offices. Extreme communication breakdown with the scheduling department. I went directly to the Hillsboro, Or location and spent oven an hour making sure every detail Was planned out. The day before my 9 Uboxes are set to arrive at the location I am moving From ( which is 90 miles from where I am living) I decided to look at my order through the app on my phone because I hadn't received any updates since making the reservation over a week prior, well it's a good thing I checked! My delivery and pick up dates had Completely changed! I had also booked moving help through Uhaul and when I discovered this change I had to contact them directly as I was told that all communication is between myself and moving help (which I was completely unaware of) when I called the Uhaul customer service dept. I was just told yes you have been rescheduled, I said it would have been really great if someone would have informed me of this. They said, you should have received an email and/or a message through the app. Nope, no messages at all!! Luckily my Moving help contractor was Bery accommodating and wonderful to work with! I hired him for the unload at my new location as wellâ€¦Shawna D.

I came into this location with an issue about my storage units. The customer service rep couldn't help me and he asked me to wait for his manager. The manager came up, I explained what was going on. The manager said he was in the middle of an audit and couldn't help me. I asked him when someone could and he said he THOUGHT someone would call me, but if not I needed to follow up and call back. VERY unprofessional to tell a customer that an audit is more important. I will never use UHAUL again for storage or trucks. We had so many issues between the customer service toll free number, booking reservations and such.Amy F.

Surprisingly excellent service. The guy helping me at the desk (Eli? Sorry i dont remember) when I came in to check in was awesome- friendly and super helpful. Especially because this was my first time using a storage unit and first time at that facility. He was patient and worked with me even though I went back for help like 3 or 4 times. Truck was clean enough but some debris. Locating truck was a bit tricky but eventually found it. Pick up using the App was okay, not great. Later I wanted to change the drop-off location. No way to do this easily. Phone wait one hour plus. First time I got through the system immediately dropped my call. Second time I was transfered to a non-functioning number. Third time I got to someone, but then couldn't hear them. Fortunately, they had enough information and made the change for me - special thanks to whoever that was! Very poor communications. They were too busy to do the actual check (back) in while there. I gave them specific instructions about how the fuel guage was NOT as indicated on the contract...and that I had put in just over 1 gallon for my 14 miles driven. They said that would be fine. My receipt showed I was CHARGED to 2 gallons of gas!...not what was agreed to. I rent here 3-4 times a year and they are a good crew. This outcome was disappointing.ALLAN S.

When doing mobile pick up, the "review" process before confirming pick up is too long. My recent transaction took 20 minutes to confirm from your call center, unacceptable. My truck was ready to go and I had to sit there waiting for U-haul to call my secondary contact to confirm they were a secondary contact. That person was in a meeting. How is anyone suppose to get any work done with your business model? It defeats the point of doing mobile pick up. I could just walk in and get the truck in a fraction of the time. McEwan location employees are always quick, friendly and super efficient. I rent a truck from this location at least once a week for my business. U-haul has all of my information from my online reservation yet the pick up process gets bogged down by your corporate process. I give that part of the mobile pick up zero stars.Cynthia M.

I was billed twice for a one day trailer rental. Actually returned the trailer the same day, approx 7â€"8 hours I believe. Called 2 spectate times as to why I was billed twice in card and also billed for higher Insurance amount then selected. Had a very good experience here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The facility is fantastic! I've used self-storage previously, but this is the nicest facility I've ever seen. The drive-through drop-off area is sheltered and warm, there are plenty of carts and dollies to get items from your vehicle to your storage unit, and the interior is a comfortable temperature, and kept very clean. We considered an upstairs unit, but chose a first floor unit because there is no elevator. This is the only downside of this facility.Alynn V. | First Impressions
