I reserved a truck online, but it wasnt for long enough and I was going 600 miles round trip. Talked to someone very friendly online they helped me out by doing a one way but said I could return it to the same location. it came through as one day. So I called back talked to someone very nice they switched it to 5 days for me added the mileage and was given $500 something. Great! I show up to the location, they tell me that they have conflicting information at the rental is for one day, wait 20 min and they sort it out, it is now $700 dollars little bummed but figured maybe some error happened. The next day I get a call asking where the truck is, I guess it had been changed back to a 1 one day. I asked it i was going to get more charges they said the order just had to be changed the correct day. Was annoyed by this time but figured it was sorted out. On Sunday I got another call expecting it back and they it was ok to bring in monday morning like I originally planned. Went in monday morning dropped off the truck, wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get extra charges, the guy was very nice said he would make sure before they would double check everything before submitting it. I get an email later saying I was charge an additional 3 days for $162. Went from $500 to $700 to $862.TODD C.

The truck was fine. The service was less than competent. My credit card was charged improperly and had to call later to correct the mistakes. And while I rented 2 utility dollies, truck had only one in it when I opened it. My advice to U-Haul: pay your employees more, offer decent benefits, and attract more capable people to work in your rental offices. Extreme communication breakdown with the scheduling department. I went directly to the Hillsboro, Or location and spent oven an hour making sure every detail Was planned out. The day before my 9 Uboxes are set to arrive at the location I am moving From ( which is 90 miles from where I am living) I decided to look at my order through the app on my phone because I hadn't received any updates since making the reservation over a week prior, well it's a good thing I checked! My delivery and pick up dates had Completely changed! I had also booked moving help through Uhaul and when I discovered this change I had to contact them directly as I was told that all communication is between myself and moving help (which I was completely unaware of) when I called the Uhaul customer service dept. I was just told yes you have been rescheduled, I said it would have been really great if someone would have informed me of this. They said, you should have received an email and/or a message through the app. Nope, no messages at all!! Luckily my Moving help contractor was Bery accommodating and wonderful to work with! I came into this location with an issue about my storage units. The customer service rep couldn't help me and he asked me to wait for his manager. The manager came up, I explained what was going on. The manager said he was in the middle of an audit and couldn't help me. I asked him when someone could and he said he THOUGHT someone would call me, but if not I needed to follow up and call back. VERY unprofessional to tell a customer that an audit is more important. I will never use UHAUL again for storage or trucks. We had so many issues between the customer service toll free number, booking reservations and such.Amy F.

Surprisingly excellent service. The guy helping me at the desk (Eli? Sorry i dont remember) when I came in to check in was awesome- friendly and super helpful. Especially because this was my first time using a storage unit and first time at that facility. He was patient and worked with me even though I went back for help like 3 or 4 times. Truck was clean enough but some debris. Locating truck was a bit tricky but eventually found it. Pick up using the App was okay, not great. Later I wanted to change the drop-off location. No way to do this easily. Phone wait one hour plus. First time I got through the system immediately dropped my call. Second time I was transfered to a non-functioning number. Third time I got to someone, but then couldn't hear them. Fortunately, they had enough information and made the change for me - special thanks to whoever that was! Very poor communications. I gave them specific instructions about how the fuel guage was NOT as indicated on the contract...and that I had put in just over 1 gallon for my 14 miles driven. They said that would be fine. When doing mobile pick up, the "review" process before confirming pick up is too long. My recent transaction took 20 minutes to confirm from your call center, unacceptable. My truck was ready to go and I had to sit there waiting for U-haul to call my secondary contact to confirm they were a secondary contact. That person was in a meeting. How is anyone suppose to get any work done with your business model? It defeats the point of doing mobile pick up. I could just walk in and get the truck in a fraction of the time. McEwan location employees are always quick, friendly and super efficient. I rent a truck from this location at least once a week for my business. U-haul has all of my information from my online reservation yet the pick up process gets bogged down by your corporate process. I give that part of the mobile pick up zero stars.Cynthia M.

It was frustrating to be instructed (by the app) to walk out to the far lot, toting my items, only to learn once I got there that I had to walk back and go in the building to get keys. Because the truck that was rented to me was behind a couple other trucks they decided to switch me to a different vehicle that was easier for them to access. But because of that they double charged me for my rental. It caused me a headache with my bank and messed up my available credit at the start of a trip. The office team (Charlene and all other contacts) helped me get the best return site. Love the super online tools. Oh, one other thing: when told to put on the brake to secure tow vehicle, remind customer to RELEASE brake after secured. Other drivers on freeway signaled me about the smoke pouring out from rest wheels. Had to stop ON FREEWAY to RELEASE brake. All wall after that the smoke stopped and went on our way no other worries. I didn't know what size van I needed so I went with the 10 feet one. When I was in store reserving it, it would have been nice to be advised that the 10 feet van does not have a ramp. I needed the ramp to move a very heavy safe, which I wasn't able to move. On the website, it does state the 10 feet van does not have a ramp after researching it. The afterhours drop off on-line wasn't successful. On the app it will not allow you to proceed unless you share your location on your phone, which I did. However, the app would not proceed past this part so I was never able to check-in online and just ended up dropping keys off anyway. Our drop off time was 11am. We showed up at 9am, and because the office was jam packed, the lady at the desk told us that if we were returning to just â€œgo park the vanâ€ and bring the keys back and place them on the desk. Walked out, parked the van, returned to key to the desk, and left. Around 3:30pm I receive a text that we hadn't returned the van! We try calling, no luck. I login to the reservation and see the option to â€œreturnâ€ the van, but it instructs we have to be present at the location and take photos. Hubby had to run back down there, check in through the website, process the return of the van, AND we got charged extra for â€œnot returning it on timeâ€. We could have done all of this at 9am when we actually returned the van - but no, we were told to â€œpark it, and come set the key on the deskâ€. Next time we'll rent a pod.Calvin K.

There was a lack of transparency on the process for picking up the pods. None of the confirmation emails stated that I needed to make a â€œreservationâ€ time to pick up the pods. Luckily I called the store to double check and this was clarified. However, all 3 representatives I spoke with gave me different information about when I could get my pods, and when I could drop them off. It was also not made clear anywhere in the process that if you do self delivery you can only have 1 pod at a time. Uhaul sent me about 10 emails during this process, I would think that one of them could clarify the actual details I mentioned above. The employees I interacted with in person were very helpful, and the pods were delivered ahead of schedule which pleasantly surprised me.JAY A.

Had a very good experience here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The facility is fantastic! I've used self-storage previously, but this is the nicest facility I've ever seen. The drive-through drop-off area is sheltered and warm, there are plenty of carts and dollies to get items from your vehicle to your storage unit, and the interior is a comfortable temperature, and kept very clean. When I decided to not take everything to my new apartment, it was very easy and efficient to rent a storage locker on the main floor.
