Since starting this moving-of-stuff journey in May, the accounting on uhaul.com is VERY confusing which prompted multiple calls to the 1-800 # as well as local facilities. The orders listed on the website have conflicting information and lists multiple/varying charges for the same box/service. It all turned out ok, but trying to track & reconcile the account online is very frustrating. Every U-Haul staff member I've spoken to/worked with has been outstanding and very helpful. The user account on website needs an overhaul.joy D.

My Ubox was supposed to have arrived on 8/4 at the Raineir location and we were told we would have access on 8/10. When I called on 8/5 the box was no where to be found. It had been delivered to Tukwila and no one notified us that it was at a different location or that it had even arrived. I found out the Ubox had arrived because I received a storage invoice. I scheduled the pick up with Moving Help on 8/10 and U-haul confirmed via email that the Ubox would be at Raineir on 8/11. Also on 8/10 the company I had hired through Moving Help notified that they would not be servicing us, I'm guessing because they knew the hassle Rainier was going to put them through. I immediately hired Hands OFF Luxury Moving Service through Moving Help.. On 8/12 when Hands OFF went to pick up the box it couldn't be found and were told that it was "in the back" and they couldn't release it, to come back on 8/13. On 8/13 when Hands OFF tried to pick up Raineir made them wait over 2 hours and proceeded to load the box backwards on the trailer making it almost impossible to get inside the box. Hands OFF was incredibly helpful and patient with U-Haul but no one should have to jump through all the hoops Raineir made them do. I will be referring Hands OFF every chance I get, but definitely not U-Haul's Raineir location. I was very disappointed with the service provided and don't feel the price I paid was fair considering all the headaches, rudeness and hours spent on the phone trying to sort out the mess they created. To add insult to injury, Raineir had the audacity to bill me for storage from 8/15-9/15 when the box was picked up on 8/13. It took over 1.5 hours to get that sorted out.raquel G.

The Tulwila site was great but I would never recommend the Renton site though. My rental mistakingly was made in Tukwila on the Renton ESL. The asst manager at Renton called me a day later saying I need to return the trailer to them. I explained I picked up and dropped off at Tukwila. She then informed me without any regard that she will report the trailer as stolen. Tulwila took care of the mix up like a business that wants my future business. They will get it!DScott R.

Clearly explain the return process. I returned the car hauler after less than eight hours and yet I was charged for two days. I went inside and spoke to someone. Gave her my name. She found my info on the computer and she said that I was all set. Now I sit on hold for hours trying to get through to customer service with no luck so far to get this problem resolved.jerry D.
The total charges were higher than I expected. While I understand that when I made the reservation, the estimated miles were from city center to city center with a small mileage overage buffer. I wasn't sure of the exact location where I would be going in Seattle because my daughter was still apartment hunting, and it turns out that I was charged over $60 more due to additional mileage. I should have been given the opportunity to add additional miles at a lower rate than $1/mile. Given that I returned the truck with a little more gas than when I received it, plus I cleaned it out prior to returning it, I feel like the total amount I paid was too high.Martha H.
Called location by shell in Seattle just to get â€œno trucksâ€ and hung up on. The next place I waited 20 minutes to even be talked to where the first girl was like â€œI'm off actually so I can't help youâ€ so I asked if there was anyone else and she went to a side room to ask management where they replied â€œI'm on lunchâ€ it's 3 pm btw. Uber and DoorDash came in while I was still being ignored. Finally get started with my rental by a lady named dawn and she was horrendous and ridiculously slow. The location is rather large and it would be more helpful to have signage or personnel that says where to drive the vehicles for unloading and/or drop off. The woman who checked us in was really rude and dismissive and not helpful. Associate was not physically able to handle the trailers. First trailer had a broken hitch which we had to identify as she was claiming my ball was the wrong size. Lot was incredibly disorganized and we had to move other trailers to access a working replacement for the original equipment. Upon return, there were no associates able to assist. Really disappointed with West Seattle uhaul and uhaul customer service in general. I reserved a vehicle hauler from the west Seattle (Morgan & 35th) location months ago, only to show up on the day of my trip and be told that they gave away the trailer reserved for me. I was then directed to drive 20 minutes out of my way to see if the Tukwila location had one. Luckily they did. West Seattle had two other trailers they could have given me but they said those were reserved as well. This is the second time since June that I've reserved a vehicle/trailer, only to be sent on a wild goose chase to a different location. The same thing happened in Burien. They wouldn't even give me a discount on my $480 reservation. I'm very disappointed with the customer service. This will be my last time using uhaul.Rob W.
I reserved my van at the N Renton location. My reservation could not be fulfilled because staff lost keys to the only available van and the second available van had over heating issues; I was told I could still rent the overheating van if I wanted to; um why would I?? After about an hour they were able to move my reservation to the Tukwila location; While they had the availability all 3 staff on Saturday were very stress and annoyed and caused my anxiety (which was already high) to flare. Unacceptable wait time to check-out. Unacceptable check-in. No "hello" and no appreciation for my patronage when someone finally helped me. Check-in clerk threatened me with a $50.00 "bump fee" despite me having reserved 6 hours of time. She wanted the truck back 30 minutes early. When checking back in 2 1/2 hours early and with 1/2 the miles I estimated, neither of the 2 clerks would prepare final billing for me to show the credit for low mileage even though I asked for it. The only complaint is the website - website is terrible. Very difficult to make changes or to verify correct information. I had to call, then wasn't sure information was correct because I couldn't verify information on the website. People on the phone were always helpful but website was always incorrect. The The truck sounded horrible it was so loud and dumped exhaust fumes in the cab we had to drive with the windows down it had no power we almost got stuck this was my worst experience with U-Haul to date. I turn the truck in after a day and then went back to get a trailer that I reserved in the trailer had broken tail lights. They run on a skeleton crew and complain about it. One lady had her phone keep going off durning our check in process and kept answering it and took care of her phone before customers. The online move-in process would be convenient if it didn't require the extremely long waits on your first visit. The unit, building, location, security system, and the staff are great. The amount of time to access my unit was awful. I filled everything out online so that it would be a quick move in. I waited in line for about an hour before I could use my unit. It took me longer to get my access than it did to unload my stuff, move it to my storage unit, tetris it in my storage unit, got back to the front desk because the lock wasn't in the unit as stated, get the lock, walk back to my unit, finish unloading, and lock the unit. All of that took less time than the wait to just get access to my unit. The three different staff members I interacted with were great. If they didn't have the needed knowledge, they quickly tapped someone that did, answered my questions, and resolved my issues. The fact that they were understaffed and had to continue to deal with people that were hot and tired after waiting in line for over an hour, makes me not want to support the company any longer. A friend rented a truck from the same location earlier this week. It took him three hours to get a truck, it wasn't the size he reserved, and he had to go to another location to get it. Again, the staff were great. Management (at the level that is accountable for staffing) needs to be trained or replaced as every person I spoke with at the location had a negative experience due to the lack of available customer service.Pascual C. | Online Move In

Friendly customer service but error was made on our reservations. We were suppose to have rental from 5pm on 7/14/22- noon on 7/15/22. I received a call to request for us to return by 9:30 AM on 7/15/22 which really added additional stress on our end of the move. Somehow we managed to return it as close to 9:30AM as possible but in the rush of things, we forgot to refill the gas. I had called to inform them to please waive the cost of gas due to the pressure we are placed under trying to accommodate the reservation errors made on the UHaul end. We were charged a total of $117.70 and would like at least $16.88 to be credit back into my account. It would be much appreciated. I was referred to this location due to an error made on the Renton location. They did not have the UHaul truck available to us per our reservation and they found availability at location. Uhaul sent my movers to the wrong storage location. Uhaul communications were confusing, broadly. Throughout, it wasn't clear what I needed to communicate to my movers, as opposed to what uhaul would tell my movers. Communication should be standard and easy to understand. There absolutely needs to be accurate delivery date estimates. I was quoted July 17th at the time of my reservation but once it was in Washington I was told it couldn't be delivered until the 3rd week of August, so I had to rent a truck from you all to move my own stuff which was difficult, inconvenient, and not what I had paid for in using the U-Box service. The Uboxes from Seattle arrived 4-5 days late. Seattle agree to pay out $200 penalty ($50 x 4 days). The system issued a refund of $100.0. Uboxes CHANGED the date to only 2 days so that they can refund only 2 days late. That is a scam! 2) The deliver from Aurora, Colorado arrived late. I asked them to pick up the box earlier. Uboxes Colorado picked the boxes exactly at the Monthly storage due date and charged $280.0 additional without our consent. I have used Uboxes service 10 times past 3,4 years. Service your trucks properly with experienced workers. The check engine light was on the whole time and the truck pulled severely right. We were stressed and possibly in danger our entire trip, which was around 700 miles. Also, one of the workers came into the store while we were checking out. He began coughing extremely loud, obviously on purpose. The person who was checking out the truck to us started smirking about his coworker's behavior. My truck was blocked in by other trucks. When I went inside to ask for help, I was told to ask someone outside. When I went to ask someone outside, another customer in front of me was already asking a staff member who got angry and yelled "What do you want?! Go inside! I don't have time for this. I'm busy". To start off, the Staff at Duwamish did not confirm the correct pricing with the mover. Communication was not clear, did not being a printed invoice, did not follow up, did not return phone calls after the fact despite repeated calls. Mover sent â€œcorrectâ€ amount after the stuff was on the truck, $400 more than the Duwamish staff told me. Thus the mover held my items hostage until I paid him. Terrible experience: items damaged, incorrect pricing, incorrect number of boxes. Plus, recently found out that the insurance I paid for was some how reversed and they did not put insurance on my boxes. Doesn't matter anyways because Uhaul does not cover damage caused by the people they contract to do moving. I will not be using this service again.Alicia M.
Worst experience ever. How is uhaul still in business? Spent 8hours and counting on hold trying to fix all the issues uhaul and moving help caused. Nobody seems to know what anyone else is doing. Nobody was able to confirm movers, nobody showed up when scheduled, I was strong armed and threatened to give payment or told my stuff won't be released. Uhaul deactivated a mover from there system but never notified anyone or rescheduled movers on accounts that were impacted. Just poor all around. Moving services provided on MovingHelp.com should be vetted. Our original reservation with a mover was awful and they never delivered our ubox. We had to cancel and find a new mover at night. The quantity of furniture pads that were provided were almost double of what I needed however, too many is better than too few. I had the pleasure of interacting with all three of the delivery drivers and they were all very helpful and extremely friendly. I can't imagine a better moving system than Uhaul's UBOX system. We booked a storage facility at uhaul duwamish a month prior to drop off date. The day we drove our uhaul from Spokane to tukwila, they said they did not have a record of our reservation even though we showed them our reservation online. The unit we booked was taken and we needed to find another unit. After 45 minutes of the employees trying to get me a new storage unit, they ask me â€œ so are you going to drop off your stuff tomorrow?,because we're closed for the night (it's 4:45pm and the website said they're open till 10pm)â€. I was beside myself when they asked that because we needed to drop off our stuff to make it on time for a reservation at hotel in Salem OR that night. The employee/manager did not care and recommended we stay at a hotel for the night in tukwila and come back in the morning to drop off our stuff. Overall this was terrible experience and lack of caring about us and our reservation. If we're treated like that, what is the point of even reserving a storage unit online? Luckily the employees the next day were helpful but due to that set back, my wife and I had to drive for 14 hours the following day to our destination.Bradley F.
The access hours being restricted to office hours is going to become an issue when I start working and may need to change facilities. This should be communicated online, not something I'm not aware of until I show up after 7PM to access my belongings. The employees were nice enough to explain the reasoning behind the decision, it's just extremely inconvenient as I just moved here and am now restricted to business hours for unloading a truck with a time limit imposed by U-Haul. I set my account up online. But then they wanted to charge me and it was supposed to be free for the first month. So I called and the guy told me to just go to the office. So I did. And at the end of the meeting she said I didn't set it up o line, yet she didn't have to ask me any info because it was already set up online. And also she said that the hours I could access my unit was only until 700pm, but the guy online said 10pm, and there were still people there after 700 so I don't get it. Mostly everyone was kind and friendly and helpful. I didn't have confidence in the skills of Jessie, mostly because he didn't seem to know too much himself and needed lots of assistance. While I don't mind training someone, it took longer than normal to check in. I had an immense amount of patience but that patience wasn't returned when I was using the stalls to unload my truck and they needed to go home. It seemed my time was not as valuable as their time. There should be a way to lock the facility to allow the customer to completely use the stall and have it lock behind them. Interestingly, the same 2 individuals that took a tremendous amount of time at check in were the ones demanding that we move out of the stalls. Additionally, dogs should not be brought to work. It's unprofessional.
