I rented 2 large units to store my 3 bedroom home. The staff told us three time we could not hold the door for movers to fill the elevator and go to 3rd floor. You need to have a key to turn and stop door from trying to close. Our move I. Took at least an extra 60-90 min waiting for the door to open and close. You need to upgrade the elevators ability to hold door open since you are moving facility. The current state of the elevator is really unacceptable.

Antonia M. | Overall ExperienceAlthough the maintenance folks did their jobs well. There were homeless people living in the storage units and the bathrooms were always pretty gross. Also, there was no notice given about the elevator gone down. Why was that? I got no communication in anyway about it, about its process of getting fixed until it was fixed. At that time I got one text message, saying that. It was an enormous inconvenience. We arrived to clean out our storage unit and couldn’t because the elevator was down. Then it was down for two months. Personally, what we lost not having our items for those two months was not in anyway reflected in not being charged to store our items for free during a time when we had no intention of continuing the store. We were not offered anything. I did demand and got a free truck to move our items out, but that wasn’t even a drop in the bucket for the amount of loss of not having our stuff and having to take an entire another day off work and the people I hired to help me I had to hire twice. It was a colossal loss for me financially Uhaul owes me at the least $1000 to compensate me for that.

I was late to my next stop after picking up U-Haul and missed the main reason I got the U-Haul! Now I have to rent another Tuesday. First girl in Middletown didn't set up my storage unit that I told her about. She re-made my reservation, it took a long time to get my truck and get going. The second time was even longer. 3-4 times we had to remake my order/reservation. Absolutely ridiculous. Wrong storage location, wrong discount etc.... When she just could have pulled up my reservation! I had my two year old and we were there over a half hour and my two year old lost it.

Sales staff never mentioned this and my things will never fit in this unit. I called toll free customer service and made complaint but still haven't received a call back for 3 days. This is unacceptable . This is after I ordered uboxes and trotwood was a no call no show 2 days In a row. And stl no call back for that from anyone. Yet I still have U-Haul another chance by renting units. My card was charged for u boxes and I had to wait 5 days for refund. My father is very I'll and U-Haul has continuously set me back on my move. This is rediculous! This is time I'm missing spending and caring for my father that can never be gotten back. How much more do I have to endure with U-Haul and unacceptable business practices from these 2 branches on east third Dayton and trotwood

This issue has been like this for four to five months which i didn't see once someone trying to fix. the overall experience was above average with customer service and cancelling my storage unit.

He also sent me a bill right after I had paid my bill as if to be vindictive. Also, when I got ready to move out there was a dead mouse found in my items and green poop was found in my shoe boxes. I did not speak of the rat incident or poop in my shoes because of prior grievances of me being accused of lying and the resolve was U- haul customer service contacting the owner to resolve an issue that was with him. (the owner).

We went to all the different floors to find a clean one and never did. Out of desperation, we ended up using one that had an already-clogged toilet and the smell was horrific. It gave us the feeling that potentially homeless people might be living in there. We also had someone "tailgate" into the building behind someone in our crew. I hope there are surveillance cameras on site and regular security to avoid what we think might be happening in this facility. Other than that, though everything about the actual process was great! Really appreciated the ability to pull in and unload in a heated building since it was so cold outside!
Carol E. | Online Move InThe latch on storage 4036 is faulty. It does not easily close. I had to jiggle the latch for a long time for it to work. I ended up leaving it unlocked at one point because I had to catch a flight. AJ called and told me the latch was not secured and I allowed him to cut it off to add another lock which cost me additional money! This unit has caused me a nightmare. Please fix the latch for the next tenant.

That storage facility has a large volume of people coming and going, and when 3 different customers have to share the 2 smaller vehicle doors, it becomes difficult to unload or unload boxes and other furniture.

The facility was clean; however, at some point, the sprinkler system may have gone off or the roof leaked over our unit. Some of our plastic bags had dried water stains on them, but nothing was damaged.

I got there at 4;30 and no one opened the door and no one would answer the phone. Other people (customers) came and was having the same issue. I needed to visually see the unit before renting it. But I had to do a reserve now in the fourth floor instead of the one I reserved which was on the 1st floor because that’s the only one that was available. Then when I went to go inside to check out the unit it’s going to be tighter than what I thought. Maybe not enough room for all my belongings. Even though the site says it will fit my things according to my square footage, I don’t think it will. So I have to pay for this storage and also store my belongings else where, which is annoying.

TJE WHOLE ORDEAL PUT ME BEHIND. I WAS TIRED AND FRUSTRATED TO NO RETURN. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Fire department came and I hadn't received a call back from after hours still and had to call them back. Once there they were helpful and somewhat sympathetic. They gave me 2 smaller storage units for the rest of my things on the first level. I just think there should be some kind of contingency plan for this sort of thing. The elevator I was told would be down for a couple months, I have knee problems and can't do alot of steps to my 3rd floor unit. My question is how do I get my things back down when I'm ready to move? They did assure me ot would be taken care of. Other than that, everyone was great

Than on 8/07/2020 I received a bill saying I owe $102 because someone else didn’t do their job right. I called three times after I received that bill to clear to the situation and no answer. takeira p. | Overall ExperienceCouple of things: I reserved a unit online before trip from Chicago to Dayton. I wanted to change start date, but was unable to do so through my account. I tried called Dayton directly, no such luck, keep getting transferred to 800 number. After being on hold for 30 minutes I was able to change date with a very nice customer service person. After she made the change, I wanted a confirmation. The only way she could do it was do a screen shot on her end and email it to me from her personal email account, not U-Haul. Really??? Check-in at Dayton went well. However, when I got to storage unit location, I was trying to figure things out and was greeted by the U-Haul maintenance person named Joe. Talk about being helpful. He was leaving for the day, when he took the time to show me everything you need to do, from disarming the alarm, to putting in the code to enter the building, to showing me how to open garage door, even walking me to and showing me my unit. He didn't have to do what he did, but he was awesome for helping me out after a 5 hour drive from Chicago. Thank you again Joe...

I had issues getting the key out the lock box because the wrong code was sent to me. I had issues with the website when I was returning the truck. I guarantee this is the last time I use Uhaul.
