I was unaware of the return policy/protocol until I arrived at the location. It was after hours so no staff were there. I tried to call Uhaul, was on hold for a long time, finally got someone to answer but they said they'd have to transfer me to someone else for returns. I waited on the phone for over 30 minutes while trying at the same time to set up an account on uhaul.com which required sharing my location. The instructions for that didn't work. Finally, after 45 minutes I was able to get an account set up, use my wifes phone to share the location, and get the trailer turned in. Instructions for all that should have been given when I rented the trailer so I could have been prepared for a quick drop off.DAMIEN M.

Clean the windshield and inside of the truck. Maybe walk the customer out to the truck instead of just saying it is somewhere on that side of the yard. Look for the number. This would have been very helpful especially considering how full the lot was. I was also due to drop off at the Hogan site in Gresham. Less than 30 minutes after checking out I got a voicemail saying they were full and I had to go somewhere else. I have never received worse customer service. Every call to (541)757-7655 requires a 45-70 minute time investment. I anticipated no less than a 32 minute hold/wait time for each of my 5 calls to this number. There is no transparency with the processes and procedures at the Corvallis location. My truck was driven 2.5 miles, basically around the block in the residential area next to the U-haul location. It was checked in and returned to Uhaul by a Uhaul employee, my receipt was received an hour after check in for the 1 day charge with no damages. The following day, I receive a voicemail stating there were damages. I returned the call (with a hold time of over 30 minutes) and there was nothing in my file about damages: no photos, no information. The following day (2 days after the truck was returned), I received a new receipt and a credit card charge for damages I did not do. Several calls later (meaning several hours on hold), there is no resolution and I am FORCED to pay for damages with NO EVIDENCE of damages, no attempt at trying to get me additional information. Suggestions for the next customer: take your own before and after photos, otherwise Uhaul will create damages and charge you for them.myronda S.

I checked in online the day prior to picking up my rental. I'm not sure what that saved me, as I waited in line for over 30 minutes the next morning as everyone else had to go through the rental process, some without having reserved a truck. Perhaps you could have some way to distinguish those with reservations/online check-in, and those new customers wanting to get a truck. Also, not all of my reserved equipment was on hand (a furniture dolly). Service folks were very professional/polite.William D.

Rental truck was not available as confirmed the day prior and I was unable to complete 24/7 check in and then spent 1 hour talking to customer service before being redirected to another location (Corvallis). Owner in Albany who arrived during this was unhelpful as he did not officially open for another hour and was uninterested in helping us. My initial location in Albany only allowed one truck for one way use and truck was not returned the day prior as scheduled. This should not be used as a site due to this. Had to pay 20 dollars for 1/8th a tank of gas because I didn't take a photo of the fuel gage.( had a deadline and could not go back to a gas station) I have rented happily many times from this location... please remind your renters to take a photo of the fuel gage. The feeling of highway robbery and being told that with out a picture we don't believe you, but they also didn't have a picture so either start providing a picture of the fuel gage yourself or kindly reminding renters to take one, or you know you could just fill up all the gas tanks before hand so there are no questions. Customers feeling like they have been treated fairly instead of feeling like they have been tricked into paying 20 dollars for a gallon of gas...would go a long ways.Lyn K.

Your check in process, pandemic protocols aside, are invasive requiring a photo documentation of both sides of the customer's driver's license. You have no need for back side photos. I am interested in respecting boundaries, while providing necessary information to the business.I will not be using u-haul if I can avoid it in the future, at least until your policies change. Make time to orient inexperienced truck drivers to the features in the vehicle. I did not know how to change the sideview mirrors in order to ensure safety on the highway. I called, but had to wait on hold. The person taking reservations could not help me. The roadside assistance line had long hold times. These questions should be answered before the renter leaves the premises. But your staff is so swamped that they had no time for orienting renters to the operational and safety aspects of the truck. The only reason I did not go with an excellent is I had trying calling the facility twice on Tuesday of this week, and no one answered, and there was not a voice messaging option. Instead my calls were auto-routed to UHaul Customer service which is a nightmare during the day - with hold times to get through to a person of 30 min plus. Yet when I called other UHauls in the area on Tuesday, I could at least leave a message and someone got back to me. Being from out of town I initially assumed on Tuesday that maybe it was an unmanned facility, as us the customers seem to have to keep doing more and more of the administrative work when buying something, renting something etc. and that is a big bummer.Robert H. | First Impressions
Overall everything was very good. The only issues we had were that there was nearly 1" deep standing water in front of our unit, #141. It just wasn't level for drainage. The other issue was the expense. Paying nearly $180 p/mo.for the 8X10X20 storage unit was pretty steep. I looked around and found another storage place with a unit that was taller, wider and deeper about 5 miles away for only $130 p/mo with the third month free. Online rental was quick and easy (similar to other services Uhaul provides), however storage access times are misrepresented. See screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/s4wayiH . "Storage Access" is stated to be from 5AM - 10PM with the option of 24hrs access as an additionally sold amenity. Unfortunately, this is not how the location handles it's accessible hours, instead you must use dual locks on your unit and request a key from the front office upon each visit, to unlock a secondary lock that the location owns. This must be done within business hours (7am - 7pm) and requires the physical surrendering (this is written during statewide quarantine) of a Uhaul accepted identification card, significantly reducing the usability of the storage. After 30 days, this inconvenience can be remedied by a fee increase of $120/yr for 24hr access. While stated otherwise on the rental webpage, there are not any actual access hours allowed between 5am - 7am or 7pm - 10pm unless special arrangements have been made with the front office per exception. This was not explained in any form upon move in. In fact, required front-desk sign in or supervised unit access is mentioned as a punishment for customer disturbances within the rental agreement and contains no reference to actual office hour requirements. Additionally, the confirmation email itself states that access hours are 5am-10pm Mon-Sun without any mention of a required check in. At this point I am curious what other red flags or fees will come about during this process that were left unexplained at the move in time or inaccurately represented on their website. I am understanding of the rules, that the location is allowed to set rules to maintain order on this premises, that the management is working hard to keep units secure for everybody and why this policy would be in place in absence of a gate. But with the combination of the false access times represented online & in the confirmation email, no mention of the specific access hours within the rental agreement itself and increased rent to use the access time already thought to be paid for - I feel that future buyers should be aware of this up front and take the omitted details into strong consideration when evaluating this location's service.Kyle S. | Online Move In

This is a poorly managed facility. The staff appears to be under constant stress and frustration. Maybe there isn't enough employee's to handle the load. I also was charged an astronomical amount for being late one day on my storage unit, I was charged for more gas on the truck that I had rented, which was clearly not needed and then when I closed my account a week earlier was told there was no prorate.
