I was assigned a lot to park my camper, when I got there the lot was already taken so I had park on a different spot. I let the office know but still someone could have taken my camper and they wouldn't know until I came back
Max K | Overall ExperienceOnly complaint I had was that it seemed like there was a glitch in the system at some point because I went to my storage space and found that the locks had been switched. I was worried about this and called the office and they explained that they had gone out there and cut the lock because of some type of misunderstanding, but they didn't touch any of my stuff and just put a new lock on when they saw it was being used. They gave me the new keys and I didn't have any other issues. They also gave me essentially another month for free. So while I wish I had been contacted about the whole lock cutting thing, the customer service afterward was good. I think it could be possible that they didn't contact me because there was an obvious glitch or miscommunication that happened, because I was renting two spaces, and but one was set to end earlier than the other, and when it did the other one seemed to get messed up in the app as well. So maybe they had my name still on the space but also weren't totally sure if I was still using it. Anyway, while it was a little frustrating at the time, the customer service in dealing with it and making it right was good. So no real complaints. The facility itself was good. Space was clean and seems quite secure.

KEVIN D | Overall ExperienceThe manger there was SO incredibly rude with the worst customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. She was so inpatient as well. I will NOT return to UHAUL again. She rented me a truck that was out for reservation already and I made her aware I had a 2 bedroom house to pack up over night. I got it all packed into the truck but a few dressers and she called upset because the person who reserved it, she had to find another truck for that person. The right thing to do would have been to give ME a different one than the one someone else already reserved. She caused way more stress than necessary for both customers. I can not even believe with the money that is charged, that it was such an awful experience with again, absolutely the worst customer service. 0 stars. I do not recommend anyone goes to especially the Stillwater uhaul in old town, Maine.

RAY O | First ImpressionsWe rented a storage space for our RV and assigned a space online. Although the process was very convenient, there was already something in the space that we were assigned. When calling UHaul to remedy the situation, I was told that "Yes, we have had this problem when attempting to rent that space in the past." I would imagine that there could be a better system for these situations, that would prevent this from happening. Maybe a printable placard that can be placed ina window etc, confirming who rented the space and which space that they were assigned? Then, a random censor of the spaces to ensure that someone ISNT using an unauthorized space?
Nicholas H | Online Move In* reserved unit online * primary residence is in PA * storage unit is in ME * sold ME cabin, & in process of moving from PA to ME, so was completely unfamiliar with this particular storage facility-however have used other storage facilities in the past. * getting into the locked facility after hours on a Sunday evening was easy, as was getting to and loading items into my unit. * PROBLEM came when leaving. I WAS ONLY PERSON in facility. It was dark. I'm a 53 year old female. * As I drove up to the gate, there was a large sign that read "to open gate after hours you need a gate remote. Gate remotes are available in the office" * Not having said gate remote, because it was never mentioned in my rental contract, I wholeheartedly believed I was locked in. * I tried in vain to call "customer service" twice-after 6-8 minutes (each time) of being on hold "because CSRs (on a Sunday evening) were helping other families" I hung up, and tried a 3rd time as if to make a reservation-which naturally (because money was involved) I got through to a live person! * I explained my predicament, and the woman who helped made some phone calls. A few minutes later the gate opened. * I told the woman, I was about to call the local police and give them my access code to enter on the other side to open the gate so I could get out. (At least I'm resourceful), and the woman said that would have been unnecessary! Really? So I should have just sat there all night?! Ok. * The next day I try several times to call the main facility to get the coveted "gate remote" only to be told by a condescending non-plussed, young man, that "gate remotes are not needed, you just need to drive up close and it will open automatically." I asked well then why did the gate "magically" open for mr after being in PARK while on the phone trying to get help for over 20 minutes? He couldn't answer. * Further, I said, if "You no longer use the gate remote because (as he said) people were "abusing the privilege?" Why don't you change your signage to reflect that? You know for NEW customers who don't know (or care) about past problems with supposed customers. * He just rambled on about how it's a secure facility, and I had nothing to worry about!! Oh, except the part about how do I get out!! * NOT a good first impression. Hence the poor review. I realize these comments are final. I used to train staff in proper customer relations for Fortune 100 companies. As you can see I TRIED to contact the facility multiple times. When I did I got less than decent customer care. Calling again to "discuss" would be a waste of time. The TRUE measure of customer service comes BEFORE the criticism, not after. After is just placating, it's not legitimate.

That never got done. not only that but took the old amount from checking and never called me to say they didn't get full amount and charged me a let charge. that was straighten out. but still had to give another 30 day notice. this time i did it in person and in written notice.

I should be able to accomplish what I need when I call....NEVER A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I always have to go in and they say you know you can call. aaron d | Overall ExperienceI had no issues with the storage facility however when I went to clean everything out, I had made a reservation for a 26' truck and when I got to the uhaul office I was informed that they only had a 20' truck available. I had made the reservation 2 weeks in advance. No one called me prior to or emailed me to alert me that they didn't have the size truck I needed which caused major stress, not to mention disappointed and frustrated that I wasn't getting what I had reserved for my move. The girl at the desk tried helping and helped offset the rates but still....better communication would've been greatly appreciated and necessary.

When I arrived after an 8 hour drive, I called the local office and they only saw it as a quote. The very helpful representative, Devin from one of the local offices near Milford ME, informed me that they don't staff the location I was at and they did not have the size storage unit I requested. Devin was phenomenal and got me into a storage unit with no inconvenience to me. You should promote Devin and fire the call center representative.

Since I did not arrive for the paperwork until May 5, my unit was switched to a far less convenient location in Milford. I was given no notice this would happen. If I had known, I would have done the paperwork and made my payment on or before May 1. IF THIS IS YOUR POLICY YOU NEED TO MAKE IT KNOWN WHEN RESERVATIONS ARE MADE. At a minimum, you might have offered me some discount or other "comp" to make up for your service lapse in not giving notice of the location switch policy.

The lady on the phone took almost an hour to fix it. THEN she asked me if I wanted to book it over the phone and booked me a unit twice the size of what I asked for! It may have been an off day, but it was ridiculous to have to deal with as a paying customer. I almost decided to spend my money elsewhere after that.

Robert C | Overall ExperienceI traveled quite a distance I paid people to move my stuff I was exhausted cold tired when I got to the storage unit that they rented me it had a big paddle lock on it when I had been told that it was free and clear and I could just put my stuff in it and lock it with my own lock it turned into be a two hour fiasco with the people that were waiting to put my stuff in me and my mother freezing it was just a big mess up big big mess I had to Make phone call after phone call until I reach someone they could give me another unit in the same facility area and then when I went to rent it and I have been told one price and when I got there it was like $40 more no I take that back $50 more and I didn’t have a choice
