This location is a little congested for after-hours return, but otherwise very good. In general, I have been finding very limited availability of the smaller enclosed trailers (4x8, 5x8) at uHauls near me. This location was further than 6 or 7 other locations in my home area. This has happened to me several times now and is frustrating. Especially when reserving a certain size well in advance at a close location only, to be sent text confirmations last minute to pick up a different sized trailer at a further location! Thank you!

Uhaul had graffiti, was dented and not well maintained, staff were rude, not helpful, and inattentive. Staff were having personal conversations, were dressed unprofessionally, and were busy with their own cell phones. Not well managed.

I'd recommend it for pick up and drop off ONLY when the store is open! The customer service prep at the 48th & Chestnut Sts location in Philadelphia (female that worked 6/16/19, at about 10:30am, I didn't get her name), HUNG UP ON ME. Up until that point, her customer service was fine. I was complaining about the odometer in the truck and I was saying that the mileage used was inaccurate to my estimation. She told me no other customer ever complained and hung up on me. I will visit the site and get her name...I don't take well to disrespect, and I never disrespected her..at all.

Everytime I reserve a truck with the 24/7 truck share I still end up having to go inside to pick up the keys so I'm unsure of what it's point is.

Had reserved and completed most of the pickup business in advance. Pickup scheduled for 9a Sunday, arrived to find the door locked and approximately 5-10 customers waiting. The door was unlocked at 9:13 and I did not leave with the truck until 10a. Staff moved quickly once the doors were opened, but they were not expecting the volume of customers and did not appear to be on time. Also, the truck cab had a strong odor of fish, as if someone had eaten a meal there. There were visible food stains on the glove compartment.

I had a one way rental from Philadelphia to Middletown Delaware. I was told I would call for a drop off location. When I called I was told I would take the truck to Wilmington Delaware and I could set up storage at this place. I picked the truck up at 2 and arrived in Middletown 5-6. I was told the drop off location was closed and I was scheduled to drop off Sunday. I arrived in Wilmington at 10-11 am. I was processed for a storage unit. Walking into the building to check out the unit the odor was horrible. Rat/mouse traps everywhere. I expressed that I would not leave my things in a rat infested place. The worker replied well that is why we offer insurance. Again I called the 1800 number for U-Haul. I was transferred EIGHT times! I was told that a manager was not available. A manager was SUPPOSED to call me within 48 hours. this didn’t occur! I was billed for both a one way trip and daily. I just called again and the representative got frustrated with me asking for an explanation for how I can get charged for both a one way and daily so she hung the phone up! U-Haul management should resolve and compensate for ALL issues. Check our rep said total charges was 64 dollars all other money will be refunded. Asked specifically about initial rental was a one way. Was told that because the drop off was back in Philadelphia it is not a one way and would charge daily. Credit cars charges daily and one way.

Overall smooth process, but one major issue stood out to me. I booked a UHaul for a 3-day move, and I was quoted a price based on this timeline. However, when I showed up to pick up said UHaul, the company charged me an amount different from the one I was quoted. This is because they estimated that my trip would take 5 days rather than the quoted 3. I think this is a shady business move and UHaul needs to be more transparent about what it will charge its customers. If a move is quoted and booked for 3 days, that should be what the customer is required to pay.

This location was pretty slow. It may be because other people did not make reservations or plan ahead, but the wait time was pretty long. When I actually got up to check in, however, my process went very smoothly and quickly and the agent I worked with was friendly. It would be good, also, if there was someone there just to manage item sales (and not specifically truck reservations). Or maybe an option for self checkout for those items. I waited quite a long time to buy a few boxes, because other people were purchasing rentals.

Employees working at the University City location on June 3rd around 2pm were incredibly unprofessional. The gentleman that was working outside was face timing his girlfriend and telling jokes with the other employee on duty. Meanwhile there were 5 customers inside, waiting and not being assisted. No sense of urgency, no direction and I found that using the app was much more efficient.

This was a very busy uhaul. At 7am when doors were supposed to open, there were about 5-6 people in line waiting and only one employee to get each person set with the rentals. I think more staff would be valuable and would help improve the customer experience. Better signage marking the entrance and exit would also be useful. Last but not least, I think that the Uhaul online pricing should be more accurate and included fees added on site.

Customer service was awful. Rude, no hello, acted annoyed they had to work. When dropping off, huge line of parked uhauls and couldn’t get in to drop off ours. Had to go inside, wait in long like for 16 minutes just to tell the employee. He mumbled something, took my keys, and acted annoyed. I hope I don’t get charged for leaving it in line as I had to do my checkout via online.

I ordered 12 furniture pads/blankets. When I picked up the truck, the staff handed me two bag of the pads which were not probably folded and told me there are 12 of them. After returning to home and found out only 10. I tried to call them several times and was always placed on waiting for more than 10 min without connected. Finally, I have to leave due to the time constrain with the moving. As the results, we were 2 pieces short when we dropped off the truck in Lancaster.

I was flying in to Philadelphia and had selected a location close to the airport. The day before I leave I get moved to a different location. Quickly I had to figure out a new plan to get from airport to uhaul. Once there the truck was ready but had no furniture pads I had reserved weeks before. Just left a disappointing feeling about my move half way across the US. I think Uhaul could have done a better job.

I booked a 15 foot truck weeks before my move and was 30 min late picking it up due to traffic. When I got to the store I was told my reservation was cancelled and that they did not have a truck for me. I was asked to wait in line (took 1 hr) while my moving help was on the clock paid for no labor and then given a smallest truck after begging for it. I received no phone call when my reservation was cancelled and the truck I needed given to someone else even though I paid for the entire day online.

The location should be shut down. This was one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. We had an appointment for 10am and were not finished until 11am the FOLLOWING day and we were treated badly the entire time. This issues were due to complete incompetence on the part of the location's workers. The parts were shipped to the wrong store, when they went to get them, the place where they were kept was locked and the key could not be found. The employee then drove back to the store and only THEN told us that they could not complete the installation. Meanwhile we stood in the store getting no updates because the employee who was there with us was playing with her dog, chatting on her phone, and texting the entire time. When we came back the next morning, there was an hour wait before they could do the installation, while they sold packing equipment, etc. Once again no apologies. Rather, just consistent excuses and explanations meant to somehow make US feel bad for THEM that they were busy. Complete and utter incompetence. Would drive an hour to use a different location in the future.

We experienced rude, inconsistent, and unprofessional behavior from more than one employee at this location. During our check-in, the person "assisting" us was on FaceTime throughout the entire process. She barely explained anything to us and, despite the fact that there was no line behind us, seemed in a hurry to get us out the door. Then, I was given inaccurate information by the same UHaul employee when I called later with a concern/question. This led to a frustrating experience -- we were given permission to drop the UHaul off at a different location (closer to our new address) by the UCity employee and her general manager. We did so. The next morning, we were asked to bring the van from the location where we dropped it off, back to UCity. Despite my explanation that we spoke to someone the day before and were given permission to change the drop-off (and promised no additional fees), I was told that the closer location had no idea of any of this. So, we brought the van all the way back to UCity... went over on our mileage as a result. It turns out that our van was a "rotation van" meaning it was needed at the UCity location... not that we were told this when we asked if we could return it somewhere different. The employee who "assisted" us at drop-off was EXTREMELY rude, even hostile, and totally unprofessional. She had a small dog with her at work, and seemed more focused on calling the dog over to her than assisting customers. I witnessed her act rudely towards the customers ahead of us in line. When it was our turn she was extremely reactive to my boyfriend simply expressing that he felt we were inconvenienced by the inconsistency of the whole process. She snapped at us, became hostile, and we overheard her outside insulting us to another employee. I reported all of this to the General Manager, who said he would address it. I will never return to this UHaul location and will probably go with another company the next time I move. I do not often complain. Mistakes happen -- in this case, one of the employees at this location made a mistake in telling us we could change the drop-off location. I have worked many customer service jobs, so I get it... mistakes are bound to happen. However, it's all about how the employee handles his/her own mistake. In this case, we were met with hostility, rudeness, and a complete lack of professionalism, by someone who clearly had no respect for us, her boss, or her job. I'm not asking for 5 star service -- it's a truck rental company, nothing more -- but what we encountered went beyond any kind of behavior that could ever be deemed acceptable.

My mileage was 30 miles under estimate but i somehow paid more. App is terrible and not well supported. My phone could not check out our truck. I could not add mattress bags to reservation after or edit truck selection easily. More return direction would be better but glad we could start at 8an before location even opened. Friendly helpful ppl at this location though! 3 yrs in a row and they are solid!

This was not my pick-up location. After showing up for my confirmed trailer pick up I was told they didn't have a trailer, and after waiting around while the staff called around, I was sent to this location. THIS location took care of me very well, but the whole reservation followed by a bogus confirmation was not good at all. reservation/confirmation screw up left a bad taste in my mouth.

The only good experience with this rental was the university city pickup. The first pickup was a disaster. I was to pickup at 7am did not get the truck until 11:30 at a different location. This delay caused me to miss 2 delivery times and now I have to take on the expense of these 2 missed drop-offs. This survey checkboxes will show a good experience because I do believe the University City location was a good experience. Overall this was a horrible experience.

Set the pickup for Wednesday. At end of conversation the girl said ok see you Tuesday. I said no this is for WEDNESDAY. She said laughing oh yea right Wednesday. Called Tuesday to change pickup time and they said "You were supposed to pick up today" I informed him of the conversation above. VERY unprofessional in the office. After this experience, I will literally go to any other company before ever considering U-Haul again. My U-Haul was covered in dog feces, urine, and bile, I had extra money taken out of my account, and the customer service was not only extremely poor, but the employees weird rude and had no idea what they were talking about. All I’ve gained from this experience is a ruined $400 mattress and a headache.

They made the truck sit for 10 hrs in their parking lot and thrust upon a damage that was caused after the truck was returned by us. And they were not at all ready to play back their security cameras. We had to foot the damage charges for no reason or fault of ours.

I've called several times, have been put on hold, and still have not been given an explanation for charges that have appeared on my card. The charges for my rental are fine but I can't get an explanation for 4 other charges to my account. My account is now overdrafted and my bank is charging me. Please make this right and do not send me another copy of my receipt. I am fine with those charges but do not understand why the other charges have appeared.

I initially was given the wrong truck. Returning the truck was inconvenient. The system was down so wasn't able to be checked in and waited approximately 10-15 mins to find this out and customers were assisted out of order. I came in a hair under the gas and I was charged a $30 administrative fee and the cost of the gas. Normally have an easy time with UHaul but this was a poor experience.

It would be very helpful to locate the equipment as close as possible to the address where the loading will occur. In this case, we had to drive from NJ to PA for the pickup...because there were no 4'x8' trailers available in South Jersey. Moreover, this pickup was relocated even further away from us than the original site (Washington Ave) when we received the pick-up confirmation the day before pickup.

The employees are very unprofessional and take forever to ever to check out people on a line. I waited for more than 3o minutes to pass two people. Seriously, the oversight authority must help improve the customer service and the experience. If the service continues to be like this, I am thinking of not using uhaul from this location any longer.

I was charged $15 dollars for a cleaning fee. We double checked to make sure the thing was clean. I even used the mini Vaccum in my car for inside the cab of the truck just for extra credit. Scam. Will not be using you next time around.

After reserving my truck on line it made check out at the store much faster which I really appreciated. I was a little put off by the staff on duty joking and discussing personal issues during my check out. Also the truck I reserve had not been cleaned. The young lady who assisted me did sweep out the rear or the truck after I mentioned it. Oh and check in was a breeze after hours. I really like parking the vehicle and just dropping off the keys.

The employees at this location are slow and rude. Uhaul needs to re-hire more people to replace these guys. I went to this particuler location, and had to wait over 15 minutes in line to get the key even after having the resarvation. Uhaul needs to live upto its stabdard and help customers get to where they need to be and not to be in your store all day long.

It said that the truck is no-smoking, however there was a rather strong smoke odor in the cabin. The door was a little hard to close properly. The tire pressure warning was lit, which is a little disturbing (although it was a false alarm).

General Manager/Assistant GM did a great job of insuring that auto transport was properly attached and the overall experience was smooth. The GM went as far as to come in on his off day and oversee the entire process.

Dantee, the branch manager, was great, but the woman behind the counter who was supposed to be handling my return didn't seem knowledgeable or attentive-- she seemed more interested in a phone conversation with somebody about whether he should take a teaching job requiring a long commute.
