I rented a 4x7 ft trailer for my handyman to help me; and the desk person was very professional and went through the protocol to make sure everything was right; but when my helper drove to the yard to have the trailer hooked up, the yard man said I only rented a motor-cycle trailer and made my guy $8 more in cash. He just told me that two days ago. Please investigate and get back to me.

I scheduled to pick up the truck at 5 AM and confirmed that I would be able to use the mobile check-in. I was then informed the night before my pick up that the mobile check-in service was not available with no explanation so I had to wait until the office opened at 9 AM. I later learned that their lockbox had been broken into so they were unable to leave the keys. That should have been made clear long before 12 hours prior to pick up.

The customer service was friendly and very professional. I did the registration online so it was quick to attain rental. The drop off was great! All by phone outside and receipt sent by email! Great experience and would recommend!

Put gas into the truck before renting it out. I had less than a quarter tank and was expected to fill it back to a quarter tank. I wasn't feeling well and was worried about the pandemic, and didn't refill it to a quarter tank. I was charge $50 to cover the cost of not filling it. Seemed extremely unreasonable but since I wasn't feeling well, there was nothing much more I could do.

I originally reserved a 15-foot truck from the 81st-San Leandro Street location but when I went there to pick up my truck, they told me that my truck was at the International Blvd. location. While I appreciated the apologies and received great customer service, this mistake was an inconvenience to me. Hope this mistake isn't made in the future.

Van and service was great. Invoice didn't match the pricing system advertised on the trucks or agreed upon in the contract. Ultimately got resolved with push-back. Be vigilant is all I can say. Hopefully they can correct their invoice system. Because it's shocking to get billed about $40 too much! Also, f.y.i., their Truck Share 24/7 DOES NOT WORK on Mozilla if that's your phone browser! I signed up for the 24/7 check in, couldn't complete the process because I was unable to photo document the van (the ap would not work with my iphone's camera), and had to ask the person at the counter to re-enter everything for me. It wasn't until turning in the van after hours I tried using Safari and the photo ap worked fine with that browser. I'll still use U-Haul again, but they do need to get their invoicing fixed.

The website let me do mobile pickup for a variety of times and sent confirmation multiple times. This location let me know less than 12 hours before my scheduled pickup that they weren’t able to do mobile pickups outside of their regular hours. If I had known earlier, I would’ve been able to accommodate this change easier. Uhaul needs to fix their website to not allow mobile pickups that can’t be done for certain hours at certain locations. The locations also need to inform customers with more advance notice when they can’t have pickups outside their office hours.

Truck was burning off a chemical and the location was hard to get to because of the road work. Staff was Excellent in hello with our needs.

When I picked up the vehicle, the contract indicated that there was one-half tank of gas. After starting the engine the gage showed just under that amount. Please make sure that the written amt is accurate so the customer isn't overcharged.

The staff at the site were incredible. The young man that handled the check-in when i arrived was vert nice and helpful, and he got me on my way very quickly and politely. Also, the young lady that way there when we returned our vehicle was amazing. She even called us an Uber when our phone died and we were stuck. And git us a couple of chair to sit on while we waited. The staff there was above amazing and made a long hard day bearable. I will gladly send anyone to them for there truck/van rental needs. They should all get a little bonus for such great customer service!!!

The pickup was smooth, pleasant and quick. Unfortunately, the return took much longer than expected. Only two people working and six customers, two of us were returning a U-Haul. Other than that it was a good experience.

I only drive 4.5 miles. The contract said half a tank (1/2). I had my kids forgot to dispute the tank before I drove off upon my return the company charged me $14 dollars for 4.5 miles. That is wrong. Some type of discretion should have been used for that charge. I did not even use a gallon of gas. I think the representatives should accurately check the gas hand before and after use so the next person won't be charged

I used the mobile app which said that I could just show my phone to the attendant and go get my rental. The attendant simply said he already rented my truck and I had to wait for them to assure me they had another truck. They did, and it ended up being fine, but overall the experience was poor because the location was far from my house

This was one of the worst Uhaul experiences i have ever had. I made my reservation out of a different location and i got informed 2 days before my long distance move that both my pick up location got changed and the equipment wasn't available. They changed my equipment out and before paying for the Uhaul, I specifically told the manager i would not need the uhaul for all the days i was automatically given and 100+ additional miles i was being charged for and asked if i would receive a refund of the additional miles, and i was assured that i would receive the refund. 2 weeks later, i'm being told I would not receive any refunds because my trip was a one way, when this is not what i was told the day i picked up the Uhaul. I wouldve never paid for it if Uhaul wouldve said they would charge me an extra 2 days and 100 miles up front. I wasted over an hour on the phone with customer service on 3 separate occasions now, the store manager Ramon refuses to help and the Regional managers wont respond to the calls. This is the last time I use Uhaul.

Maintain your vehicles ..... I should not have brake fade and warning lights on the dash .... almost returned the truck but I was on a schedule .... the brakes felt like they were about to expire

Drove around for 40 minutes trying to enter the facility. All roads were closed due to road construction told me they were gonna shave off some of the mileage. Want to be reimbursed for one day can not return the vehicle as promised

The employees at UHaul of Oakland get 5 stars - helpful and friendly, and I was able to get in and out quickly. Truck worked just fine as expected. I dropped a star as the rental truck was rented to me with only 1/4 tank of gas, forcing me to fill up en route. I understand they don’t have gas on-site, but would encourage UHaul to figure this out and end this inconvenience.

Please check that the truck doesn't have broken parts before re-renting out. There was a broken "rub rail" inside the truck we ordered and drove off the lot with so it was difficult to tie off and secure the last section of our load. it would have been even better if the staff and identified this and got it fixed before re-renting the asset to customers.

Ricky at U-Haul of Oakland - 5330 International Bl Oakland, CA made our experience! I will only refer folks to that location because of him, and hope the company what an asset he is to the U-Haul brand and compensates him accordingly. He is a problem-solver and after checking my vehicle, he knew it wouldn't be able to comfortably hold my items, so he transferred me to another type of trailer. He checked to make sure everything was working and when the turn signal wasn't lighting up, he switched out the light transmitter in my car doing some sophisticated electrician work. He worked swiftly with expertise and care, and I am CERTAIN that if I went to another Uhaul location, people would've let me walk away with a subpar or untimely solution. (It's happened before.) Thanks so much Ricky!!

Staff friendly, not helpful. First off I never rented this thing. This is the worst expirence I have ever had with any retailer. It took 2+ months to get this resolved. Won't use uhaul again
