This was the worst experience I have ever had at a U-Haul location. I rented a one-way 5'x8' trailer with my return here. I pulled up to the return area where there were no employees in sight. I walked inside to a young woman on her phone. I told her I was there to return a trailer to which she told me okay you can unhitch it on along the fence. I even clarified because I have rented many trailers and the U-Haul employees always hitch and unhitch the trailers. When I went to leave she asked for my last name and said I'd get an emailed receipt shortly. I never received the receipt so I called back and spoke to another man at the location. He said that they were very busy but that he'd get me the receipt shortly. I never received the receipt so I called today (day after) to which I complained to all of the folks I could get a hold of. Finally the GM called personally to apologize which was very much appreciated. The employees just seemed too lazy and disinterested to actually help.

More thorough walk through of distance and finalizing . I was charged an additional $227 and some odd dollars for extra mileage. Mileage of over 500miles! Where in fact I only travelled from Manchester NH to Malden MA- with NO stops or extra routes- except to fill up before drop off. This totals roughly 57 miles in on direction (which is what I did) and had guessed 60 when renting. The U-Haul pick up and drop off locations were both less then 2 miles from my move out address and move in. The mileage charge is an impossible charge. In addition I never received an email confirmation of the charge either . I called an had to find out why this additional charge was on my card to find this out. I was also charged an additional 7 gallons of gas totaling close to another $33 in fees. I had used very little gas and put $10 in the tank before dropping off which was the gas station at the corner of from the drop off location. I was just short of where I got the truck at for gas- NOT 7 gallons short. It probably needed $2's more. I had told this to the man at drop off. I have used U-haul numerous amounts of time in the past- if fact before this I used Uhaul just 3 months prior and I have never had such an issue. Now this charge is in dispute with an investigation going on. I am honestly so dumbfounded at what had even happened for them to have an investigation and review cameras. This is an awful lot of money especially where I am doing a new move and where I am a regular monthly customer holding a storage space in Woburn MA for the past 2.5 years. The furniture pads were the fault of the Beaumont Center. And the fact that the UBox was rerouted to them rather than the place that I had information for is almost certainly not their fault but UHAUL proper. I heard quite a bit of issues arising with my Moving Help folks, and I was charged a storage fee even after our business was concluded. They did address it quickly and were friendly in the meantime.

Understaffed. Half-flat tire. Tried to say there was no truck just to avoid losing equipment to my one-way rental, which was reserved. Did not implement the agreed delivery time. Uhaul is always a tragic experience - this time was worse than usual.

Personnel on duty at 5:30 pm on Sep 2 we're in no way friendly of courteous. It was a huge inconvenience to them to turn in my Box Truck rental. Thomas was totally dis interested in providing any helpful advice.

Customer service representatives were courteous, quick, and professional. Morning staff out in the field at this location, not so much. I simply had a box reservation made over 24 hours in advance. I arrived on time and my box was nowhere to be seen. Staff seemed confused and hostile when I asked where my box was and why I had to wait over an hour to access it when I followed instructions and made a reservation. Especially since I had also reserved a moving truck to transport my goods, so obviously my time was important to me. Overall, working with U-Haul virtually was quick and easy. This is one of the cheaper and more reliable services. My U-Box arrived WAY ahead of schedule. However, accessing it in person proved to be very difficult at this location. And, the costumer service at Malden has been very unfriendly and disappointing.

The staff were very kind. We had to switch our reservation around due to moving needs. Malden UHaul made it easy and hassle free. I was even given good recommendations on places to check out once I reached my destination. Please go check them out!

Have a better system for keeping track of keys and trucks. This is not specific to this location, but both times I've used u-haul my truck has not been ready when I've come to pick it up.

Although my rental was booked and confirmed many weeks in advance, no truck was available. Had to wait over 2 and half hours. If another gentleman had not stepped to help me, (who seemed to be from another location and a senior) I probably would not have got a truck!

I tried to rent a 15 feet truck from a U-hual store in brookline firstly, but it changed to pick up the truck from this location and I did not notice it until I saw this message on Augest. I did not get chance to rent the truck from other stores near brookline and it costed me much more money for paying mile numbers for this rental. On Aug. 31th, there is no 15 feet truck for picking up at this loaction and the only truck I picked up is a 10 feet truck. This truck is not enough for storing all my belongings and I had to move those things much more times. So I did not think that it is a good experience at the end.

1. I picked the car at 12:49 pm on 8/31/2021 and dripped off the car at 10 am on 9/1/2021. But the bill charged us TWO day's rent! 2. I reserved the Utility Dolly and Furniture Pad together with the Cargo Van, but I DID NOT receive the Furniture Pad. But we are CHARGED for the Furniture Pad!!! 3. I reserved the cargo van for 24 hours online previously (pick up at 12 pm on 8/31/2021 and return at 12 pm 9/1/2021), but the salesperson told me we could not keep it for that long and it has to be returned before 10 am 9/1/2021. I did drop it off at 9:40 am on 9/1/2021. The salesperson did not do anything at that time and told me all set. Later on, I saw from the UHAUL APP that I dropped it off at 3:29 pm on 9/1/2021, which is NOT TRUE! He even did not show me the bill. I did not sign it and wouldn't sign it because I totally DISAGREE!!! 4. I have many previous experiences renting u-hauls, and they are good, and we are treated nicely. But this time, we are treated so badly!!!

Andrew Clancy (co-owner) drove out to my location in Cambridge Mass to pick up the vehicle. He had a client waiting to go to Chicago with the truck. It saved me having to drive out to Malden, drop off truck, and Uber back to Cambridge. Andrew is an exceptional business man who knows how to keep the customers satisfied. Andrew and Amena, for someone who worked in this company for a long time, I was very pleased by the friendliness, professionalism, and making my move stress free as much as possible. I am very happy to see how much Andrew has grown since a year ago, and happy to see the amount of buisness this store is now having. Even though it was super busy, as usual around this time, they both kept their heads and continued to help every customer with a smile on their face, and worked hard to make sure they had what they promised to the customer. I was in and out quick and everyone near me was as well, and if they had an issue they solved it quickly before moving on to the next person. Very proud of you Andrew, and for the team that you are growing around you ! Continue to rent with a smile, and give everything your all like you always have. And goodluck this year with the rush. Andrew of 420 Eastern Ave in Malden was simply awesome. At the busiest time or the year and in the most difficult of circumstances, he did what it took to make everything work out for me. UHaul support also stepped up as well and extended my rental for a few hours and that was crucial to my being able to make my move a success. I was disappointed in myself for letting Andrew down by not returning on time and leaving him in a tight spot. I've said it before and I'll say it again, UHaul is one of the best run companies in America. Thank you again to everyone at UHaul for being so awesome during this incredibly difficult year.

When I scheduled my U-Box to be picked up for 8/24, the representative I spoke to took all my information and assured me that I could have the box delivered to my new address. However, the U-Box was picked up a day early (8/23) and delivered to a storage facility (not near the address I had scheduled it to be delivered to), which was not what I had asked for/requested. I followed-up when I was sent a receipt of the storage, and I have not heard back after 3 days. The only solution available to me now is to pay for another pick-up & delivery of the container to have it sent (late) to the correct location.

First, let me say the staff was unprofessional (cursing in front of customers etc..) and was not helpful until we had to ask for help. They finally moved the truck that was behind another truck by sliding through a tight squeeze almost damaging another truck. We then had to turn back around given that we where not checked out properly. Including told we're the equipment was located to be put on the truck. I am pretty sure this is not the case with all the employees at this location, but there needs to be some training to make sure customers are taken care of.

I felt very bad for the Kid Jonathan who had to work the 2 days I showed my face to in the Malden location. When I called on Sunday to confirm my UBOX they said it would be ready for me to load on Monday. I leave work early so that I may do that. I get to the location witj my Uhaul truck full and my box isn't available. It's nowhere to be found. The nice customer service guy Jonathan was able to locate my box. When the box was open it already had been full. Now Jonathan calls the manager and the manager is just demanding to have me come back on Tuesday or on Wednesday. He claimed he wasn't going to come in on Tuesday. I'm sorry but I work full time and I am a manager at my facility and I wouldn't turn a customer away like that. Jonathan did all he could do. I left the truck on site with a lock and my belongings and left. The following day I received 2 calls for the Malden location asking for the uhaul keys. I said the truck is there but I have the keys because my belongings are still on the truck and you guys messed up on my UBOX. I received a 3rd call from the manager of the UBOX she apologized for the inconvenience and said she will correct it right away and that she was going to email me the change. They asked how soon I can get there I said my brother can go. I never sent my brother because I had a feeling there was an issue and I never received an email. This is on Tuesday. I end out leaving work yet again. Go straight to Uhaul where Jonathan is there again. He told me that they didn't provide him and information and I told him unfortunately no one sent an email. So, he calls the woman (manager) of the Ubox. She said that she thought they had agreed on getting my BOX ready for Wednesday which was incorrect. She had me confused with some other woman. Who had issues with her box as well. She apologized and told Jonathan to grab an empty box for me and the make sure my name was on it. Which we did. We did everything quickly unloaded and loaded everything. I'm sorry but these were the 2 most stressful days. And for the managers to just say have the customer come in another day without even considering the customer having their own life is not ok. They should always seek what's best for the customer because the customer is paying and the inconvenience is on the customers part not on the manager. The manager isn't paying for the box. This location is severely understaffed and I understand with COVID. But, I would understand why anyone wouldn't want to work there. This poor kid was yelled at by 3 customers before I came to him about leaving the truck with my belongings. Today Wednesday I was supposed to call to seek for a refund for my truck. I haven't had the time because I've been busy working. Also, do I really want to spend hours waiting on hold while I wait for someone to answer the phone. I'm sorry they are lucky to have Jonathan but if a manager can't be there until closing or atleast have an MOD or a supervisor it makes is very hard on the employees including the customer.

Initial mileage in my contract was incorrect and I was charged over $100 more for that. I'm disputing it and it'll take a lot of time and efforts to have this corrected. I'm glad I took a photo of the odometer at pick up time and I have proof of it. I wonder what would happen if I haven't taken a photo. Truck was dirty, steering wheel so gooey I had to clean up; there were plastic bottles left in the front cabin. The back of the truck had some trash from the previous user. I had to sweep it before loading it. I've been using U-Haul for some 20 years and never had a bad experience. This is the first one and I'll think about it next time I need to rent out a moving truck. Thanks for the opportunity of this review and I hope it was helpful. Great process - staff at both origin and destination locations were super helpful, prompt and courteous. The U-Haul video instructions on how to pack your box were also very helpful. One box can hold more than you think! My box arrived early with everything in perfect condition after a coast-to-coast move - would absolutely use again!

Staff at the location was helpful, but the location was good far away. The U-Haul system is inefficient. I feel I should have been rewarded for reserving a vehicle nearly six months before my move, but I was forced to drive 30 minutes away instead of 5. When my truck was blocked in, the online system picked another but it did not account for missing furniture pads, yet I am still charged for the items. Then, taking a million pictures of everything in and on the truck was a hassle at the beginning of the day, and again just before midnight. This app/online system have major glitches and inefficiencies, plus it's just annoying to do that much work or be charged another $20. The employees at the store helped when the app froze on me, but then I was unable to confirm furniture pads. Fix that app, or don't force customers to use it. It is bad, and your employees said the same thing.

The truck was filthy and there was a four loco can in the cab with other trash bags in it. The truck was in rough shape and was hard to drive on the highway because it has trouble speeding up.
