The manager, Luis, who was responsible for opening up the morning of the 17th of October, was ten minutes late in opening up the store, making us wait for him. He was not very personable and mumbled through his instructions. Also, I ordered a dozen blankets and they were not in the truck, and when I went back in to ask for thee blankets he informed me he did not have any blankets. We were told to drive down the street to another location to pick up the blankets. All of this delaying the start to our venture.

The location itself was great. It's super odd that Malden has 3 Uhauls within a few miles but there is nothing in Revere, East Boston, or Chelsea.

The truck was moved to another location without notice which caused me to be late for the scheduled movers. I tried to call and get reimbursed for items I purchased online when I ordered the truck but did not get in the store because they ran out and the staff was rude and would not let me explain the situation.

I had reservation at 10am today but I needed to pick up the truck earlier.I checked the store hour which is 7 am- 7pm .I called to change my reservation bu no one Uhaul malden route 60 store answered phone. it was 8 am .When I arrived there, there isn't still anybody in the office.I was waiting there in line and about 20 mins after one staff came and I told him that I have a reservation at 10am but came earlier and need to change my reservation time. he told me to wait for few minutes and  went out to for more than 30mins.I went out to find him and told him I was waiting there for long time. he looked at me very bad with upset face and told me to wait since i have a reservation at 10am.as far as I know, I can change reservation time and cancel anytime. and I spoke to operator on the phone when I made the reservation. the operator explained me it's okay to go earlier to pick up. I don't understand why he treated me like that at the store and didn't even explain anything but just made me wait for long time. and also while I am checking in, he just ask my name and text me and that was it.he didn't explain me any detail what I need to know. he didn't even ask about coverage which I was charged $20.at the store, I asked him about the insurance or the coverage he said i don't have it.but then I found I am charged for the coverage on the receipt.please refund this.   I feel so bad about this.

When we arrived around 5PM with a partially loaded truck to offload into one of our three UHaul boxes in your Malden MA facility, Andrew (who was the only person onsite, running the front desk) made time to find and excavate those boxes so we could complete out mission before closing time. Five stars to Andrew! That was real customer service!

The key drop off location is not easy to locate at ALL. Come on man. Put up some signs. An arrow pointing in a general direction does not communicate "the tiny mail slot in the middle of a large garage door around the corner from here." I only found it because I was on hold with customer service for a while and I was wandering around while on the phone because I was so bored of waiting

My experience was not as pleasant as a hoped. I called to reschedule, then was told by a very rude representative that I never did that, but yet had record of my call. She was basically tell me how i was wrong the entire call like I did not no what i was talking about. I asked if I could pick it up the night be for 30 mins before they closed. She then told me the time for me to come in would be 7:30 pm. I drove there at 7:15 to find out it qaa closed at 7. Then when I arrived, it was understaffed. And I had to wait for an hour in line. It delayed my move drastically. I am just over all unsatisfied with the whole experience.

I called ahead to schedule access to my U-box but this information was (apparently) not passed along to the person working that day. He was the only person at this location the day of my pickup, so he was unfortunately preoccupied pulling my/other people's boxes out and the front desk was left unattended for a long time, which accounted for my wait. Some other people were waiting and some left while waiting. A little better communication would help this location I feel, to hopefully help with staffing when a lot of business is expected.

It took my 65 min just to check out. my truck had a lot of damage to the body of the truck and did not look well taken car off. when I tried to drop the truck off I went into the store the clerk said just leave the keys in the truck unlocked out front did not want any info nothing so instead i did the check out on line so I knew the truck was returned it instructed me to lock the truck and place the keys in a drop box which I did. 2 guys were walking in a side door near the drop box(not in uhaul uniform or any ID stating they worked for Uhaul)and yelled out to me and my husband HEY you dropped keys in there I asked are you asking me he said ya is the store open go in I said I did go in and the clerk wanted me to leave the truck unlock with the keys in it so instead I did the online checkout and the app told me to lock the truck and put the keys in the drop box. The man started yelling well how would we know its back don't worry i grab the keys lady.the man never Identified himself as working for uhaul or having anything to do with uhaul. the store was under staffed, not prepared ( my truck did not have the dolly in it) and unprofessional it should never take so long to pick up a truck that the information was all ready pre given for

Great drop-off experience, terrible pick-up experience - as no one was there for over 30 minutes (at 9 AM on a Saturday) to help customers. I tried to do the 24/7 Mobile pick-up but still needed a person to hand over the keys - so that was pointless. Two numbers were provided for the GM and the Company President - both of those did not work.

My experience was okay overall, given that I chose this as a cheaper option than full-service movers. My stuff traveled across the country and ultimately arrived in good shape, although I had to push the unload back by a day because it arrived late. I was moving from a 1-bedroom and initially selected 2 U-Boxes thinking I didn't have that much stuff. In the end, my belongings barely squeezed into 3 U-Boxes. Obviously I had more than I thought, but the "average" or "above-average" amount of belongings guidelines weren't that helpful ... it's hard to know how much stuff other people have! Based on U-Box availability, U-Haul switched the pickup location to a place that was a 40-minute drive away. I definitely needed the boxes, so I understand this, but it added a lot of time to the loading process because the movers had to spend 2 hours driving back for my third box and then returning to my apartment. There also weren't enough furniture pads for the third box.

The efforts of the employees at U-Haul, 420 Eastern Ave., Malden, MA were amazing!  Luis, Trey, and Andrew set things up for us and were incredibly efficient and kind, fork-lifting our U-boxes to us when we requested them.  They are indeed an essential service in Malden!

I was scheduled to turn the trailer in at Central Square Cambridge and when I arrived there they refused to take and asked me to leave. They gave me a phone number to call and when I called that number I talked to a very friendly and helpful lady who sent me to Malden. This cost me an extra 1.5 hours of driving in heavy traffic. Overall I felt that the Central Square facility was a very bad experience but all other facilities were good to great.

I understand that Aug.31/Sept 1 are the busiest dates of the year but your trucks should be available for more than a 6 hr block of time.That's why I had to rent a trailer but It worked out fine.I'm not sure of the young woman's name at the Malden location ( it says Kellee West on my receipt) but she was excellent.

The guy at the front desk was in a terrible mood when I picked up the U-Haul. Treated customers poorly and rushed me out the door without a proper inspection and would not answer my questions. I was the only one picking up at the time so I have no idea why this guy was so pissed off. He did not send me a receipt of the initial specs on the dashboard (I.e miles) so once I returned the U Haul the same guy tried to say I drove 63 miles which I had no way of disproving and definitely did not do (30 miles at most). The same guy yelled at me when I questioned him once returned my Uhaul and got my final quote. My estimated cost was ~$90, and my total final cost was $160. Ridiculous and I will be filing a complaint.

I reserved my Uhaul months in advance because I wanted to make sure I was able to pick up my truck at my preferred location. I don't have my own car, so it was important for me to be able to rent from the location that was within walking distance from my appartment. Instead, on the night before I was supposed to pick up my truck I was told that the only available truck was at the Mauldin location which was either a 90 minute train ride or a 45 minute drive from my house. Because of my time constraints related to moving I had to spend an additional $50 on an uber in order to pick up the truck.

I got the switcheroo from you guys, turning a 5 hour rental into a 4 hour rental, moved a half hour away. I tried to fix it, and they did it AGAIN. I gave the fuck up. Then my "self check out" took a half hour, so my 5 hour rental turned to 3. No one was helpful until I complained on TWITTER of all places. Im 100% not using your service again. Absolutely unacceptable.

Picking up my equipment was very chaotic. I arrived 10 minutes early as instructed, did the check in through the app, but then had to wait 20 minutes to get my key (along with 3 other customers) because there were no employees in the store. When I dropped off my equipment, it was once again very hectic. I was told to put the dolly I rented on the curb and put the keys to the truck on top of a trash can, which made me very anxious that my equipment wouldn't be properly checked in and I would face incorrect charges. In the end it all worked out, but I think this location needs to hire many more employees because they seemed overwhelmed.

The shipping was a HOT MESS, the pod was supposed to arrive on a Friday, and it arrived on a Tuesday. No one knew where it was. Uhaul did not communicated with me, just the driver who was delivering my Ubox. She was lovely, and very helpful. But if I had chosen to pick it up, I would have had no clue what was happening. Also, I was told that I would get a portion refunded, but I haven't seen that yet. I was just very frustrated about the whole process.

I was honestly really scared that the affordable nature of this service would bite me in the butt, but I am happy to report I was dead wrong. I used the MovingHelp to pack up my container and unpacked it on my own. The MoveHelp option is awesome and relieved a lot of stress. Customer service was really great on the day of my Ubox delivery as well. Note: You will not know the timeframe of your Ubox delivery until the day of. Highly recommend this service for a long-distance move and will use them again for my next move!
