This comment IS NOT for the Youngstown location, how ever it is for the Traffic center out of Akron.. My experience with them was not great at all. The original Uhaul truck I was to get had to be grounded due to a rear diff leaking (not sure how I was the one that caught that on inspection, vs the original dealer). I was told that the Traffic Center was going to take care of me to locate me another truck inorder to get me on the road, there was no sense of urgency from the Traffic Center on locating me another truck, willing to move some other trucks around, etc. I had to be on the road by 6am Saturday morning however I was told the only truck available was going to be in at 8am Saturday. I took matters into my own hands calling the other local dealers in the area, explaining my situation and found that the Youngstown dealer was able to accommodate my reservation and get me on the road when I needed to. Uhual (Corporate) needs to work on their customer service and strive to do much better.Bill O.

I signed up for contactless pickup and had to make contact because there was a hold on my account because I returned the uhaul a few minutes late 5 years ago and because the keys were inside the store and I spent OVER an hour inside uhaul figuring that situation out. Extremely unsatisfied.Taylor C.

I was given the wrong truck, with the wrong number, with the wrong information entered on the sign in sheet on the Internet. When I arrived at my destinations exhausted from moving I had to spend over an hour trying to figure out with the U-Haul representative how to fix the issue. Mike at maurers trading post was most helpful but unfortunately the rental from Youngstown proved to be the issue. Respectfully, I would request a full refund for the rental of the truck to continue using U-Haul and recommending it to my clients. The one hour delay cost me an additional $300 in moving expenses.Geno T.

The first truck I rented smelled so strongly of urine that it was unusable. Then when a customer service representative awarded me a discount and sent me a new reservation the manager of this location said I couldn't use the discount. This just added insult to injury. To make matters worse the AC in the truck broke and i drove through florida in July with no AC. Unfortunately my experience here was terrible. The people here can be very nice but it seems like the equipment coming out of this location isn't checked for cleanliness or proper maintenance or even functional operation. Uhaul is letting its standards slip big time. I will definitely be looking at other companies the next time I move.Jonathan B.

Over a year ago, I found that the door to my locker had been breached. I reported it to staff immediately. It was never fixed. Only yesterday, 7/17/2022, when I vacated my locker did I notice missing items. I've visited my locker several times over the passed 2-1/2 years. At no point was the temperature of my locker under 80 degrees in the summer or over 60 degrees in the winter. Just to note, the building is falling apart. The materials are simply eroded. Moving out, I've cleaned pounds of paint, rust and some sort of cork substance. As if I needed more work to do. Tap the wall and more falls to the floor. There is no electric or I would have used a shop vac. I was suppose to be called about a first floor unit since is got on the list 2-1/2 years ago because my reservation unit was suppose to be on the first floor to begin with as I am physically handicaped. The girl that works in the morning and Leo are so so so sweet. And the building is an old dairy from the art deco era. Itd be nice to see Uhaul fix it up. This moving experience into my first storage unit made sure it would be my last. The storage unit has units on top of each other which are dangerous especially with moving bigger furniture like couches and mattresses. I was afraid of falling every time I was moving something into that unit because of the moving stairs. The storage units on the top of other ones are made out of plywood and not concrete which makes them not sturdy at all. I notice that there were multiple units available in the bottom areas. I think the management company should have been upfront and trustworthy on which unit and where the unit was like on top of another unit. There are parts of the facility that is air-conditioned but the part where my unit was not. There was no airflow on the second floor of the facility. It makes it unbearable to move items in and out of the facility. I would say the lady checking me in gave me tips on certain things with the facility but I still think the layout of the until could be better.Jordyn W. | Online Move In

Service vehicles properly, we rented a brand new 2021 truck, it had 30,000 miles on it we were heading from Ohio to florida the truck broke down in South Carolina, power steering pump when out there was a huge animals nest under the hood, power steering fluid was smoking due to the infection of twigs that was made into a nest under the hood. It took roadside assistance 7hrs to get us a new truck to proceed with our travel. I will never rent from this company again! The location they sent us too for our new truck , the gentleman was beyond ignorant, he was so drunk and smelled of liquor, yelling racial comments, cursing. I've never in my life would of thought someone running a company for uhaul would act like this. And the whole issue was we asked for a truck upgrade because we had to reload all of our belongings into another truck, customer service agreed to the truck upgrade for the broke down inconvenience. The gentleman that was drunk running the location did not want to upgrade us and say customer service has not say so (mind you this was a manager I spoke with regarding the issue) the gentleman at the location wanted us to unload everything onto the ground/dirt to properly reload our belongings into the truck. Mind you after trying to get this gentleman to understand, what we were trying to explain to him he literally snatched the keys out of our had, told us he wasn't giving us anything and that we could deal with the issue on our own that he wasn't even suppose to be working today, closed the door to the facility, got into his vehicle and drove off. When renting storage staff gave me the wrong storage unit...when returning with things I had to pay the difference for the correct one which I didn't have a problem with. When returning my truck staff told me the furniture pads were not in the truck so they would have to charge me. I did not use any furniture pads and my move was quick and simple. IT WAS THE STAFFS FAULT FOR NOT HAVING THEM EQUIPPED WITH THE TRUCK WHEN GIVING ME THR KEYS. Problem was resolved was not charged for what I did not utilize.
