With the dead truck he told me I could jump it with my pick up truck and then came running outside yelling don't do that, that I couldn't? Weird and unpleasant experience. Lost hour and half of my rental time and was unable to fully finish my move.
Giovanni P.Advertised starting at 19.99 a day. There is no way to ever be close to that price. How is it possible I was originally charged 65, and then when I drop off the truck it's nearly double that at 124? The first quote showed an even lower price. U-Haul's prices need to be more accurate to what is advertised, this is absurd.

Marialena F.I needed a cargo van and when I left I forgot to do the mileage confirmation. I live 6 miles away so when I realized the next morning I took a picture of the mileage then looked at the contract to find out the van had 80 more miles on dashboard then what was on the contract. Once I realized I drove 6 miles home to then find out in the morning before my trip to Massachusetts my dash had 80 more miles I was upset because I knew I didn't complete the confirmation before leaving. The key to my van wasn't on the wall it was in the box outside which the renter prior could have returned to use the van or an employee. I had a pic of dash before my trip to Massachusetts and a pic on return but the infamous Tiffany who people speak so highly of told me oh well nothing I can do you should have did your confirmation. Umm hello you all should do the confirmation that's why you have the job!!!!! I was told maybe someone made a mistake putting the miles in the computer, so it's ok for the person who put info in to make mistake but the customer can't make a mistake of checking there dash before leaving or this is the result? Tiffany had zero care of at least crediting some of the miles!!! I called the 24hr customer service line at 6am when I realized why on earth would I do all that if I wasn't being truthful? I will definitely warn anyone I know to be careful with monitoring there mileage because something is going on here and if it happen to me it must be happening to others!!!!!! I will never rent here again!!
Yennitsa R.I was given a smaller truck than I reserved and so could not fit what I needed to move into it. I ended up taking multiple trips. That had a domino effect on my entire move plan. I was not told that the larger truck was not available until I arrived to pick it up and at that point had no option but to take it. Maybe move became twice as hard, at least.

Margarita C.This location was "good" regarding the dropoff. I just pulled up with the truck and dropped off the keys and was done. Apologies to the location but the "poor" rating given here is for the Uhaul experience as a whole (there is nowhere to rate that). Less than 24hrs before I was supposed to pick up my Uhaul from a location three minutes from my move out location, I received a call from them saying they had to push my pickup two hours later (they are supposed to give at least 48hrs notice per their policy). If I had any issues with this, I was instructed to call them back. I had set up movers to load the truck at a specific time, so the new time would not work. Because of this I happened to call back, and was then informed that even at the later time they would not have a truck available; something I would not have found out until the next day when I tried to pick the truck up. The local Uhaul took no responsibility and instructed me to call the regional manager office so that they could find a truck at another location. I called the regional manager, who set me up with a truck 30 miles away (the mount kisco location), meaning extra time to get the truck, extra gas, and extra miles on the truck. After much back and forth, and after my suggestion not theirs, the office agreed to discount the truck $50, add extra miles, and assured me it would be scheduled for pickup at the original time I needed it, not the two hours delayed time. To make an already long story a little shorter, when I went to pick up the truck, it was scheduled for the later time, was not discounted, and had even fewer miles than the original booking (and didn't have the equipment I had ordered with the truck). I needed a moving truck and was on a time crunch so I just paid for it and thought I would take care of it after my move. I called the regional office back after returning the truck. I explained the situation and the person I talked to said he was reading the notes of the previous person I talked to and there was no record of the discount/extra miles/time change. I assured him we talked about it and after some time he found the record matched what I was saying. I don't know if he was initially making up that he was looking at the record, or the Uhaul system is confusing, but either way it was very frustrating given the whole situation. To top it off, the rep said the only way to resolve this was to speak to the regional manager themselves, who would reach out directly to me. I tried to get a time estimate from him about when I might be contacted. The rep was evasive, finally telling me this person was out of town and would probably contact me in two weeks when they are back. This whole experience was atrocious. I've used Uhaul many times before, and I've never even had one of these issues, let alone the series of unavailability, mismanagement, and customer service blunders I experienced. I don't know what is going on at Uhaul, and I hope this was a blip instead of the start of a trend that ends in a pattern where they can no longer provide the seamless customer experience I had come to expect.

Daniel S.My frustration with UHAUL is with your reservation process. I ordered a trailer from the Guilford, CT location that was “guaranteed†on the website. That location is 3 minutes from my house. The day before I was to pick it up, they said I needed to pick it up from Essex,CT which is 20 minutes away. Then they changed it again, to New Haven, CT which is 30 minutes away. If you guarantee pickup from one location, that equipment should be available. The people in New Haven were extremely nice and I enjoyed the experience overall, except for the 1 hour round trip to drop the trailer off that should have been 6 minutes

This year, the van had some body damage to the side doors, so they did not open all the way. From now on, I will check all doors before leaving the lot. This van shouldn't be rented until the doors are repaired.
Michael T.The only feedback I have is that when I pulled up during business hours to return the truck, I stopped at the sign that said someone would come out to assist me, but no one ever came. Eventually I went inside and was greeted and helped by someone very friendly! I believe the person who helped me was jolyne brown, and she was so kind. She helped me with the truck return and refunding unused boxes. She was clearly a little new, but was extremely kind and competent when working through issues or confusion. She also went above and beyond to lend me some tools so I could fix my bike to get home. 10/10

Tracey K.We arrived at 6:45 pm after a full day of moving to return the car. The two women workers had disabled the automatic doors 15-20 minutes before closing and would not answer knocks. They refused to check in our car (we had to do an after hours return) claiming that they took their last check in at 6:45 (it was not yet 6:45 pm). As older folks in our 60s, we struggled to do the self- return process. Very disappointing and rude.

Both pick up and return with the store staff. However, checking my credit card bill, I saw a strange charge from U-Haul, and realized that I am being charged for a missing dolly!! The dolly was used and returned inside the truck! Truck was returned for a staff member that said that I could go, that I was all set! And now I am being charged for a missing dolly??! Please review this charge as soon as possible, since my credit card bill is due for the next days!

It can be confusing, and I had to show others what to do, too. Also, make people aware that the dollies aren't available after a certain hour, even though you can access the building as late as 10. When I returned around 5:30, whole dolly area was completely blocked off so I assume it wasn't a case of them all being used. Plus no one else was there so they couldn't all be out for use. It was not super fun loading and unloading everything one by one by myself. Woulda brought someone with me if I had known. :)

When I checked in to 83 Water Street to return my 1-way rental truck, I discovered it had a serious issue. Staff person Milagros "Max" Escobar, also very friendly and helpful, was quick to get the truck problem resolved to my total satisfaction. She also guided me through the storage space rental process taking extra time to be sure I was totally familiar with everything. So, many thanks to both Tyffany and Max for their outstanding customer service and support! I'll be sure to recommend their U-Haul location to those in need of such services.

Had a storage unit there (just moved out last week) for two years and never had a problem. The storage building was always clean and well-lit. Not a fan of their carts, but they work and are always available. One thing though, they really need to update their computer system, it's a mess.

There are many "gateways" to access-which is good so that you feel your items are secure. However, I wish there had been more signage or directions located on site.

I moved because my unit was broken into and items were taken. I feel that my items are much more secure now and don't expect to have any security issues here. Great place.
