I had a hitch installed on a VW Jetta. What a disaster and never again. I dropped the car off at 8am and was told ready in 4 hrs. I called after 5 hrs and was told another 45 mins. So I went for lunch and showed up 1 1/2 hrs later. When I showed up a couple of people were trying to route the wiring beside the exhaust and turbo charger. I told them to stop, I would do the wiring. The stair the employee was standing on put a big scratch in my bumper and broke one of my tail lights. Plus they sent me away thinking my all my lights were working. I had to buy tail light lense and bulbs. The branch I went to in Edmonton, AB on Stony Plain Rd has no business doing this kind of installation. NONE! I would not recommend to anyone.Kenneth D.

When I dropped the trailer off after hours, the online drop off confirmation page would not work. I attempted to login for 30 minutes with no luck. Which was frustrating, to say the least. When I clicked the, 'contact us' icon, I was finally able to talk to a real human. Sandra, in customer service,' helped me get it submitted though her. She was extremely helpful. 1) Explain that I'm not getting charged when I take it, that happens when I bring it back. 2) Explain that if it's after hours when I bring it back, I can just leave it and go to the website to finalize and pay. Experience was generally good, but there were a few hiccups: - my storage unit was not cleaned out from the previous tenant and I had to move a lot of stuff outside of the unit (including rotting food) and clean the floor (with what I could find in the previous tenants stuff) before moving my stuff in. - I couldn't get a hold of the office staff to tell them about the above; they put me on a long hold. I did tell them about it later, however when I came in for another thing. - I had a hard time finding the exit/sign out kiosk the first timenI was there and had to search for it for about 10 minutes. Stored our belongings to this facility. Not even 3 days our storage got burglarized. It happened in the early morning on a Saturday and they called us to let us know that it's been ransacked at around 6pm. You guys should invest in good lighting, wireless cameras (yes! I was asked how long the stay would be, I said 4 months, and they noted it down. I later discovered I had been charged for a 5th month despite having been moved out for a full month, and when I called in they told me that when they asked that, it was just a question and they didn't actually do anything with the information, and that I will keep being charged until I notify them I'm out. Why ask how long I'm gonna stay, make it seem like that information is being taken into account while we draft the agreement, and obscure that asking me that had no purpose and only misled me into thinking I was on a set amount of time?Garon B. | Overall Experience

The truck I wash given had problems with the drive train and it was difficult to find the drive gear. The person from u-haul mentioned this to me. Also, the speedo was in MPH and not KPH. The KPH was on the speedo albeit in very small numbers that I could not read. Also, the haul employee did not tell me that there was guide on how to estimate your fuel when returning the vehicle. I put in way to much gas at my expense due to this. When I returned the vehicle the person at U-haul told me of this feature on the e-contract and that I should have been advised of this when I picked up the truck.Robert H.

Nicole the store manager was unbelievably rude. My wife I were the only two people in the store at 8am and the way she spoke to us was appalling. I simply told her we wouldn't need the car coverage and she freaked out. I would never want my store manager to speak to a paying customer in that manner. Luckily the other workers at this location made our experience somewhat tolerable when dropping the vehicle off.Kyle K.

They said the gas tank was full but it was not completely full it took 15$ to fill after I was done but maybe drove it a total of 20 mins. I was in a hurry to get to my appt so could not mention it to the agent.Kelly C.
Didn't have rental when I arrived to location, they provided me with a larger truck but gave me keys to 2 different trucks. Manager unconvinced my time as I was in the middle of moving and angrily insisted I go right back to return the extra key. They also over charged me for fuel and mileage and blamed me for the mistake. Overall wasn't impressed with the customer service, the policy on the uhaul website is if they don't have my rental they provide me with $50 and find me another one. I'm not sure how any of it was on my part when their first mistake was not having the rental I booked.Taliyah T.
Customer rep was short with me and stated Truck was unavailable even tho I had text and email confirmation and had booked it a week or more in advance. I arrived 30 mins early and by the time they found me a truck and were able to authorize it for a one way move as I had booked one for I was late for my movers and the truck was still dirty. Booked over the phone & initially UHaul booked me the wrong unit & I wasn't able to change it online, so I spent over 45 minutes on the phone, most of it on hold. This amount of time was excessive to be on hold. Your on the phone customer service wait times could be improved upon.Shannon H.
There are some great staff there that help you in the best way they can, then there are some other ones who are clearly overworked and not impressed to be there and it shows with their ability to provide even acceptable customer service. Paid for 24 hour access and on multiple occasions was unable to get in to my unit l, and the phone call into the store was unsuccessful just to be told "well it should work". I had to go into the office a few days later before I could gain access to my unit. Trying to phone in to speak with anyone is next to impossible and on a few different occasions I waited on hold for 45 mins to be told to hold again, and if you have have issue when you get to the counter when you go into the store expect to get a snarl if it's not one of the guys that are working. I would absolutely not recommend storage solutions from this uhaul facility!! Trailer and truck rental services are decent if you do all the self check in and return on your phone.Natasha H. | Overall Experience
The only recommendation I would make is that it would be more efficient if customers that took the time to check in online to expedite the pick-up process would not have to stand in the same line as those that are making reservations, asking questions, or are having other issues. I enjoyed my rental from the second uhaul store I visited because the first one rejected us because our drivers license was from the United states. The van we rented had an United States tag on them. Tried to move in on move in date. Storage unit was locked. And they didn't give me the proper access code for the gate so I couldn't move in since no one was at the facility. I had to wait till the next day. Also the free lock wasn't in the unit. Had to stand in line for 2 hours just to see a staff member for the lock. The one staff memeber kept leaving the the till to go somewhere else. Finally the manager came back with one other employee and the line moved quicker. The manager at the store was also 10 minutes late while there was a line forming at the front door so the store wasn't even open until 9:15. I was done moving in at 9:30 but since I didn't have my lock I didn't leave until 11:00. Worst experience I've ever had and all they offered me was a free one month 24 hour service. I was going to Rate this place above average and say the staff were very helpful and friendly until I checked out. I had to wait at least 20 minutes before anyone came in to help because the only 2 employees I noticed were outside helping other customers. When one did come in to serve the growing lineup asked me want I wanted and I said " I'd like to check out". Went through the usual locker number and name. Then she asked if it was clean, I said yes then she promptly said" well if I go out there and it isn't clean I'll be checking you right back in". I said I swept it out I also wanted to say it is cleaner now then when I moved in because it wasn't swept out previously. Figured it was better not to aggravate her. My google review: Terrible experience at this U-Haul. I rented an outdoor storage space for my camper and the employee had no idea how to operate their system. It took him 4 attempts and 45 minutes just to reserve my spot, even though I had reserved online, and called ahead before I arrived. I was told conflicting information, one person said I needed a lock, another said I didn't, the employee reserved me a slot that apparently didn't exist. It was no surprise when I went to drop my camper off for the first time, my swipe card didn't work, and of course it was after hours. The security for the outdoor storage is terrible (anyone could jump the fence), and it is more of a storage dump for garbage than for campers. I reserved a storage space a week ago and went to move in. The staff were very helpful and when i went to put some stuff in the unit it had 2 other locks on it advising another renter they had not paid their bill. These notices were on another 9 units just on the way to the elevator. So i was rented a unit that wasnt even available. Upon going and advising the staff they let me know thay didnt have anything else available. She said she would call and let me know before they closed after her walk around. I didnt receive a call and had to empty my car load back into the house. So now im looking at alternatives to uhaul as they are not reliable. The office is well laid out and clean and tidy. All around the newer part is clean. When we went to look at the drive up storage unit the weatherstrip along the bottom of the door was missing and the unit hadn't been swept out. That was on a sunday, tuesday was there to unload and the weatherstrip hadn't been installed nor had the floor been swept. The storage container is dirty, full of ice and water. I was given another shed... only it belonged to someone else. Was given another unit, it was clearly too small. Ended up taking the dirty shed and laid boards down so my belongings don't get damaged. I had UHaul labour on site and I had to pay them for waiting around. I had no where to put my dust. I asked for the garbage and was immediately told I would be charged if I want to dump garbage. I explained no it just dust and dirt and some broken glass. I moved my precious items, my life into this facility where the staff seemed sane and professional but turned around and evicted implying I slept in my unit which was absurd and absolutely not the case. I had my uhaul booked to remove my things next day the manager Johnathan said I wouldn't return the truck when I've always returned the trucks on time paid in full cleaner then I rented it and no reason to imply I slept in my unit as I came and went once a day he was 100% just bullying me because I dressed different and or being native he just outright didn't like me. I had to leave all my items outside for the night as I hadn't planned another truck being denied for no reason by this jerk Johnathan. I lost everything, they stole nearly everything. I'll never forget that. Karma will pay it's due to these scumbags at winter burn uhaul one by one the greasy fat losers will suffer a great loss then spend eternal in loneliness like I felt that cold day. Asst. Manger Nicole and another employee whose name can't recollect was not helpful but Katlin and Brayden helped. I needed a larger unit and unhelpful people denied unit citing its on hold. The next day I called and Katlin helped me reserve as it was never on hold but when I came in the evening the guy refused to give despite showing reservation email but finally a call to Mr. Brewer solved it.
