Give me a truck that doesn’t start vibrating and rocking the truck when it hits 100 and squeals when turning left or right also it was dirty and not maintained at all I told the person when dropping off and they said nothing at all, I couldn’t finish my move with it so I returned it and next day ended up having to get a smaller one to finish because the first one caused my belonging to shift so bad when it started vibrating and rocking the unit which created some of my items to Get damaged Not impressed but had no choice to use a different one to finish it

I booked the pickup and return location is Westside, but I received message that change to 21818 STONY PLAIN RD NW this morning! If I know early, I will find another company! Moreover , I waste 30 minutes for waiting pickup. there only two staff and one told me that he need to check something then go away. I book for 1-5PM, but include 30 minutes waiting time, there is unacceptable. Also, I ask that can I return the car at my original location, the staff refused and told me another nearby U-haul can also provide the same car to me but I need to go there for pickup. So why don’t change the nearby location to me at the beginning? This is a very bad experience and I will not use U-haul anymore!

We booked a truck in advance and when we arrived at the right day and time to pick it up it turned out that this location is not working and we can not take the car. How does your service work if you could not foresee? I was offered to go to the other end of the city to another location where I can take the car and offered a car 2 times bigger, although I did not need such a big car. I lost a lot of time because this point was not foreseen. I also had to pay much more because the location was far away. And besides that, when we brought the car back, we were told that we had not filled it up enough and that we needed 20 liters more, which surprised us! We went and got more gas. But before taking the car my husband took a picture of how much gas was there initially and it turned out that there was a mistake and we did not need to fill it up again. I don't know whose mistake it was, whether it was your employee's or your service. We were told we would get a refund, but we never did. It was a terrible experience using your service, where we were badly screwed, took more money and cheated with gasoline. I will never use your services again and I will never recommend your services to my friends! It was a terrible stress.

The location was great. If I could give the Uhaul system and servers a rating then it would be as low as you can get. The main system was down and the backup system was spotty at best. I went through 4 computers, 5 employees and 2 hours to get my truck dispatched to me. Fix your servers!!

The vehicle was not checked by maintenance...we were just starting to load, when the vehicle rolled down the ramp...in park, emergency brake applied and engine off...without a second person, it would have been more dangerous...at least one could chock tires, while the other person kept foot on the brake. I hope this truck does not get rented out until fixed...my friend is a retired vehicle mechanic and I am a former trucker in the military. The issues were given to the person at Regent, where we turned it in.

The check in/out process was fairly simple. I was a little taken by the fact that the truck i rented did not come with a full tank of gas... As such, i paid more in fuel than i should have when i gassed up before returning the unit. (that's why this isn't a 5 star review) It came with 1/4 tank of gas. i returned it with a 1/2 tank. Staff were very pleasant and easy to deal with.

The truck was amazing. Among the notable attributes were comfortable seats, which we sat in for 30 hours over three days. The noise level in the cab was low. The brakes/engine brake combo was smooth, and we had very little load shifting during the entire trip. Mirrors, turning radius, handling, and visibility were great as well. Thank you

Have utility dollys available for a move from Edmonton to Calgary (there were none available to me). Place the dolly and equipment in the truck prior to me showing up. Fill the unit to full rather than me having to take it at less than a 1/4 tank, instantly get gas, and have to try to return at a 1/4 tank.

Vehicle maintenance (front lights). Noticed upon pickup that one fo light wasn't working unless you turn on high beam. High chances you will get caught , when you are moving night time and the head lights not working.

The drop off procedure was absolutely ridiculous. The drop off area should have a place to drop the keys. The key drop was all the way down at the other end. Had to use a website that didn’t respond very well. Stood outside in -20 weather to take pictures of the vehicle. This after moving all day. I feel like the process could be a little more seamless. I don’t know how the staff is at this location. It was much better than the location that I picked up the vehicle. I likely wont be using U-Haul in the future.

The trailer was covered in mud and the drivers side fender was smashed in. And it had a retorque tag that was on it for 4 days and the service person couldn’t tell me it had been retorqued.

I ordered a 5 x 8 trailer but got a 4 x 8 trailer instead. I had ordered the trailer a week before. All other times they had the right equipment when I ordered in advance. Fortunately, I was able to move what I needed to move in one load with the 4 x 8 trailer. Please ensure that the correct size trailer is available when booking in advance. Thanks

I made a reservation to return different location. However, when I went to another location, I was told I can't return it to there unless I have to pay $290. She was rude and unfriendly. She didnt even try to help me out. I went to all the way to Stony Plain location. I had to pay extra mileage and gas.

The staff were helpful and friendly. Despite having issues with their primary booking systems they were able to use some kind of kluncky back up system to get the job done. The trailer worked well and had no issues. Drop off was very simple I was met in the parking lot and had their trailer unhooked and my receipt emailed to me within minutes.

Wash the inside and outside of the equipment so it's easier to identify issues with said equipment. I picked up a trailer and the tail lights were covered in road grime and had a slow leak on the tire that was flat within 24hrs

Overall the equipment was in good working order and pickup and drop off went smoothly. However, the young man who helped out was listening to music in his AirPods and had trouble hearing our questions. Look, I was once young and remember what it's like, but I found the fact that he checked his phone and put his AirPods in twice WHILE helping me pretty rude. Again, he was able to process our reservation and got the equipment hooked up, but the interaction with the staff were a bit off-putting.

I accidentally misplaced or lost keys for the disk lock that was on the trailer tow behind. U-Haul service agents accommodated me and zipped the lock off with a grinder to help me complete the move. I had movers involved, professional ones and time was of the essence in regards to scheduling and waiting for a locksmith or roadside assistance or anything like this. Could’ve been expensive, but the U-Haul folks rescue the situation in approximately 15 minutes and the service was great overall Two thumbs all the way up.

First the gate card wouldn't work then the locker they gave us was the wrong one but the right one had a lock already on it. Wr already unloaded into the Second unit to be told it was wrong so we said forget it let's keep it so they then charged me more for a bigger unit without telling me.

I originally intended to rent a storage unit in Edmonton at the U-Haul 50th street location. I rented a truck online from Friendly Mini Mart & Laundromat because it was only five minutes from where I live. I also reserved a 5 x 10 x 10 storage unit online from the U-Haul 50th street location because it was the biggest one that was available at the time. There was a notification online when I reserved the storage about reminding me to ask for the second month storage free when I rented a truck. When I arrived at the Friendly Mini Mart & Laundromat to pick up the truck on Friday, September 22, 2023, I mentioned this to the clerk and was informed that the staff at U-Haul on 50th street would look after that for me when I arrived there to secure my storage unit. When I did arrive at 50th Street location the following day on September 23, I discovered that the storage unit they had available would not be sufficient for my storage needs because it was too small. The lady at the counter did a search on her U-Haul database computer for bigger storage units at other locations and informed me that the Winterburn location had some available. She gave me a printout of these units and the prices as well as their phone number. When I asked her about the second month free option she informed that the staff at the Winterburn location would take care of that for me when I got there. Instead of calling the Winterburn location by telephone, I used the U-Haul app to reserve a 10 x 15 x 8 unit for the following day which was September 24, 2023. When I arrived at that location on September 24 to pay for the storage unit I was told by the female counter clerk that I did not qualify for the second month free offer because I had rented the truck in Edmonton and not at the Winterburn location. I don’t think this is right and that it is very misleading because I was never given any indication prior that this was how U-Haul conducted their business in relation to qualifying for a free month of storage. In fact the 50th street location gave me every indication that I would qualify because I had rented the truck from the U-Haul company. Even though the lady at the sales counter at Winterburn was very pleasant and professional, and I don’t have any problem with her job performance, the whole matter still doesn’t sit well with me. I think that U-Haul failed in a number of ways in how they communicated matters prior to my travelling to Winterburn to secure the unit and that they should do the right thing and provide me with the free month. I was not made aware until I arrived there that I needed to rent the truck from their location. I fail to see the difference why it should matter where the truck is rented from. The lady at 50th Street location didn’t give me a heads up about that either and left me with the impression that I was doing everything I needed to do. It’s not an overly significant amount of money…just $190…however, I think that I entered into renting a truck and storage with U-Haul with the right attitude and expectations and they dropped the ball on their end. It appears that they have found a nice convenient loophole to deprive me of taking advantage of this promotional offer. I am thinking of making a complaint about the U-Haul company to the Better Business Bureau about the entire matter if the Winterburn location doesn’t do the right thing in this regard. The only thing that is stopping me at this time is I am not sure if that location may try to blacklist me from any future business if I do file a complaint. I also discovered that I was overcharged $93.19 at the place I rented the truck from. I waited a week to see if they would reverse the charge but this morning I noticed that my credit card company had posted the transaction to my account without any reversal of that charge. Now I have to go and make a complaint to my to credit card company about getting that matter resolved which I shouldn’t have to do if the U-Haul company hadn’t overcharged me to begin with. Another thing that concerns me about Winterburn location is that there seems to be a number of people parked and lingering outside the security fence looking to drive in whenever a paying customer swipes their security code card. On just my very first two visits to my storage locker I observed there were two other vehicles that hurriedly passed through as soon as the gate was opened. It made me wonder who are these people and why are they waiting outside the security fence looking for an opportunity to piggyback other vehicles to get through the gate when a paying customer goes through? The whole matter didn’t leave me feeling very secure about storing my belongings at this location knowing that there were perhaps unauthorized people driving around the storage lot who may not have proper access. I had to contact my insurance company as quickly as possible to add the storage unit to my home insurance policy in the event of break-in.

The building access information was not clear enough to state the specific order of accessing the building and which one of the three access management portals to use. I called customer service at the toll free number availed and I was incorrectly informed that my reservation was cancelled (by one agent) and non-existent (by the second agent). I was insistent on being helped by a an agent who seal with access issues and I was transferred to a third agent who was very knowledgeable and quite helpful. He transferred me to the location GM who quickly realized my confusion and while on the phone with me, quickly resolved my issue in a matter of seconds. I wish I knew calling the GM was an option because two of three customer service agents were either not well trained and/or didn't care enough to resolved my issue. I will recommend the online reservation and move in to my family and friends because it's a fast and very efficient process with a caveat to ensure they are using the correct access portal to gain access to the building. In addition, I would like to commend the Ms. Nicole Goruk, the GM of the location whose help was the only silver lining in this process. She took time off her hours away from work to make sure my experience was swift by providing pinpoint accurate information by guiding me through the process. Give her a raise !!!

Right from the beginning of the rental. I was rented a 10x20 unit that was completely flooded and was told no other unit available so we had no choice but to line the floor of the entire unit with pallets. Then they restricted the times we were able to access our unit. As time went on I at times didn't pay my unit for 6 months at a time but then always completely paid it in full. All of a sudden after my unit was only 60 days in arrears they informed me that it was going up for auction at which time I contacted them and complained because I found it easier paying every 6months rather than yearly. The manager told me that she had every right to put it up for auction after it had not been paid for 60 days. Once they told me it was going for auction I had the option to pay the settlement amount and I sent numerous emails and tried calling numerous times to find out what the amount would be only just to not get a reply to my emails and when I called whoever answered put me on hold for 30-45min at a time each time, before I could even tell them who I was or why I was calling. After being on hold for that long I would hang up and call again and same thing would happen so I eventually gave up. And now they sent me an email (from a no-reply email address) stating that my unit was sold and that I still owed a bill?!?!? I am very upset about the whole situation. I paid well over $3000 in storage bills for my keep sakes, valuables and personal belongings- just to lose it all to someone who paid $381 for it?!? That's totally not right at all.. especially because I tried to contact them and didn't get any reply at all. And even once they said "I will get back to you with the settlement amount" and I never heard back for 2 months- and now my unit is sold...WOW.

From the wait time to talk to someone to the issues with the setting up of my account online, uhaul is not doing very well. The storage unit I rented and never ended up moving into was unlit, and unsafe, I didn't feel safe here let alone store my belongings here.

Although I had called three times to confirm our move in date and that the unit was ready and waiting, when we got there they said they didn’t have a unit available! However, in the end they did sort it out and find us a unit although it took a little time and hassle.

Locker contents were flooded and frozen to the ground. Was never told it would flood and never offered pallets for the ground. As I complained to the front desk they knew it flooded in the spring and offered no refund . Said it could claim through insurance. I’m not responsible for clean up the frozen boxes and blankets and papers still frozen to the ground. I took pictures of the damage. Also emailed manager with no response today. Sad!! Will never recommend your company.

It was very convenient to rent online. Parking is limited, to load/unload and it is shared with staff. But very minor. The facility was clean. I did worry about the location and the security of the building, but it was all good!!

You need to find a solution to the drainage issues at this location. Your signs/adds state “safe, DRY, secure storage” There’s ice 3/4” thick in my outdoor ground level storage locker. Every locker we drove by that was opened, has pallets lining the floors
