The person working the pick up desk was extremely rude. I asked if the truck engine was well maintained. She responded with (I don't maintain them, so I wouldn't know. I can give you the dimensions of the truck and that's it) I was really surprised by her response. I considered telling her that her rude response wasn't appreciated, but instead decided I just wanted to get my truck and get out of there. She seems like an extremely unhappy human. All in all the facility and employees were fine. I didn't like being told There wasn't a medium unit available but I could get 2 small unit for the same price. Then after moving in, I was charged for the next 8 months for two small units and it wasn't negotiable. I was never shown how to card swipe in and out to unlock my unit so the alarm wouldn't go off. I finally went back to the office an asked what the difference in the two different card swipers were and figured it out. Lastly, one of my units wouldn't slide to close and lock without 15 minutes of trying different things. Initially was given a truck where the gate for the trunk wouldn't close without a huge amount of force. The guy jumped off the back platform holding the rope using his entire body weight with gravity to get the thing shut after I couldn't on my own. Also there was no dolley and had to go get it myself. I ended up trading trucks because I was worried I would not be able to do the jumping body throw action the worker had to use to get it shut and this would put my items at risk. Never seen the lack of compassion or customer service. Also ended up getting billed for tolls because the inside person never changed my reservation to the new truck This is the worst customer service experience of my lifeGarrett S.

If using the key box for picking. Up keys make sure that the locks are on the right box or the code to be used works on the locks. My key box lock code would not open my box and I couldn't get my keys and after 30 minutes of waiting to dove that I discovered that none of the items I was renting were available at the store. Utility Dolly (x2) and furniture blankets were not available. There was no one at the store who could develop any sort of solution and they at one point suggested canceling my order altogether. Not being an option due to moving that day, I suggested getting another truck but the one they gave me was ragged worn and mechanically and functionally inferior to the other truck. I was slowed significantly by something that was supposed to speed up my process. When returning the truck how they got me set up to leave made it difficult to return the truck in a normal way because my ticket had gotten all messed up.Tyler S.

It started well enough with Phillip, but then it was all downhill from there. The lady that I dealt with picking up the truck, then subsequently dropping it off at this Willowbend location was awful, to the point that my children (who were with me) were surprised by her rudeness. She pretended to think I knew everything about renting a truck, and when I asked about something I just got an eyeroll or a snarky comment. I was told that I needed to return the truck with X amount of gas, which I did, even exceeding past that amount, but was still charged $17.50. I was also charged $30 for exceeding the mileage that I was allowed, which I gladly understood and paid. As I returned the truck (after putting gas in it), the engine light came on. Thank goodness it was close to home. I received a "how did we do" text after I returned the truck, to which I replied about my concerns of being charged for the gas. To date, no one has contacted me or tried to resolve this, even though I had a receipt to prove I had filled the gas tank. Then recently I was sent another text that I had more "Additional charges" because I had used the tollway. Um...this Uhaul establishment is ON the tollway. They never told me I couldn't use the tollway, and when I rented a truck from Penske last year, they told me it would be perfectly fine, and I never got charged. Uhaul, on the other hand, decided to send me these "extra charges" and when I didn't respond to them immediately, they went ahead and charged my credit card on file. I used Uhaul because I needed to move my kids back to college, I didn't really have a choice this year, but I will NEVER...EVER use Uhaul again. They will nickel & dime for whatever they can get, and their customer service is absolutely horrible.John T.

The General manager Anthony Summerfield needs to be trained better in customer service. Did not greet me. He was too busy instructing a seemly new employee. His attitude was take or leave it. He explain the link that you will get to look at the vehicle. If I miss something I'm liable. If I pull off without completing the link I'm liable. So the van is out there on the east side. I told him this is not the way customer service has been. He said that's the way it's been done for 70 years. I told him they had no links 70 years ago. the truck was in poor condition, but it ran OK, the back door was difficult to close, the truck interior was dirty, but the biggest issue was I was overcharged for mileage- I was billed 43 miles, I filled up the tank to full, but only drove the truck about 7 miles-David W.
Uhaul inept ability with managing their reservation system cost me a significant amount of time and money to get my move back on track. Starting the fiasco, I arrived an hour early expecting to use the digital check-out only to find that it was unavailable. I had to then wait in an hour-long line only to be told that my reservation is unavailable and there are no more trucks of any size at that location or surrounding ones until much later that evening. In turn, I then had to reschedule my movers for a rescheduling fee. Finally, after returning my U-haul within the 24 hour reservation, the rep wouldn't check it in until the next morning and U-haul increased my rental charge. I am fighting this through U-Haul and my credit card.Jieke X.

They told me NO and that I would have to call their roadside assistance and have a key made. And it would cost $287. I waited over an hour to get ahold of the roadside assistance then another hour to get the key made. What really upset me was when I returned the truck they told me the key was lost earlier that week and they gave me the spare key they had. I can't believe they didn't make one before they handed the vehicle over. So I got stuck paying $287 for them to now have a spare . When I find the keyâ€¦. I don't normally leave feedback but this experience was horrible. I rented a 5x8 utility trailer over the phone. I came in to get the trailer, provided my info and gave my credit card. I was given the contract and told to go out to the lot and Austin would be out to get me hooked up. 5 minutes or so go by and I see an employee walking the opposite direction. I said excuse me sir, the gentleman turned around and I asked if he was Austin. He said he was. I said ok great, the lady inside said you would be able to hook up the trailer I rented. His response was "I'm too busy" and he walked off. Wow, I was shocked at his attitude and horrendous customer service. I went back inside and told the lady what happened. She said she would take care of that and asked me to go back out to the lot. 5 more minutes go by and another employee came out to hook up the trailer. No further incident during the pickup. Then the afternoon before my trailer was due I called the store and asked if it would be possible to keep the trailer and extra day. The lady looks up my reservation then tells me that someone else had reserved that trailer for the next day so I would be unable to extend it. I asked if she had other 5x8 utility trailers available for that day and she said she had a few. I replied and said ok great, would it be possible to reassign one of the trailers that wasn't reserved to the reservation on the trailer I had so I could keep it the extra day. She rudely said "No, that wouldn't be fair to the other person". I said ma'am you have the exact same trailer available so why would that be unfair? She said "You signed an agreement saying that you would return the trailer by 9:30am so that's what you need to do". I was stunned. I ended up bringing the trailer back that night instead of the next morning. At the drop off location I waited at least 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge my trailer. By that time I already unhooked it myself. When the employee came up to me I notified him what the lady said to me on the phone and he did provide a reasonable explanation as to why they couldn't reassign the trailer. He said Uhaul's reservation system sucks and once it assigns a unit to a reservation you can't reassign it without losing the reservation. To whoever that reads this.... why would you not fix this very simple issue??? I can't be the only one that this has happened to. How much money are you losing from people who would extend their rentals?! Overall this has been the worst uhaul experience I've ever had. I will never return to the Plano / Dallas Parkway location and may never rent from any of your locations again. Poor Poor Poor!RANDY E.

The truck given was missing a gas cap. The folks at the facility were aware of it, and nice about it. They said it was the only truck available for me. This is all fine, but I don't appreciate being up-charged for gas when I was not willing to fill up the tank back to the right spot when there was an issue with the gas cap.
