To be fair the rental was only just returned, however my reservation was moved without my knowledge to a different location and then when I went to go pick it up, it wasn't there at the time I reserved it.

Upon dropping off my truck, I was told my account would be put on hold until I could talk to the branch manager about disputed charges. The next day, without a call back, my card was charged and I was then unable to reach the manager. The truck's fuel gauge didn't work - we put in over 10 gallons of gas and the needle didn't move at all. Overall, UHaul's equipment is poorly maintained and their staff is not knowledgeable about their own location's services.

U-Haul service sucks over the weekends I had to run all over Chicago to find a U-Haul the original reservation was canceled without any information and had call U-Haul customer care and wait on the call for 2-3 hours to connect with an agent and those agents were not able to find any trucks My point is that if you can't guarantee a truck why the hell you reserve for the customers and waste our time. If you give reservations make sure it's available on time or busy days 1-2 hours delay but don't give expectations to customers. Your service in Chicago worse, I hope Your service gets improved.

I booked an 8 hour window 9-5, and given travel issues I communicated 2 days in advance I would be showing up at 1030, yet when I showed up my reservation was cancelled despite having done the online check-in ahead of time. There weren't enough people working inside to help move the line quickly to try and fix this, and we had to scramble like crazy to rebook something online as I had a dedicated window to move. This location needs more staffing, and I still don't know why an 8 hour reservation was cancelled unbeknownst to me.

There was a 20 minute wait. While Jackie was amazing we were on a time crunch. Finally got the keys and it was parked behind another uhaul with a flat tire. That truck had a dead battery and that used our uhaul to ram into it to move it. Then we found out there was a lock on the back and had to wait for a key to open that. Additionally there were dirty panties in the trailer and other trash.

Only 1 person working the desk on July 31st. Even though my reservation was at 7, I didn't get my rental until at least an hour later. But that also meant I lost an hour of moving. We ended up leaving some stuff for next week because of that. I tried calling and messaging the staff but there was over and hour wait to speak with someone and the live chat never responded back. Overall, we made the best of a pretty below average experience. The woman running the front desk however was great for what cards she was dealt.

Pick up date was a terrible experience. I have never had a manager at a business so rude and mean. It was a horrible experience. Return on today was such a pleasant experience. Worker was professional and very respectful. Sad he works at a location with such a horrible person the manager we encountered on Friday.

The location always seems hectic, disorganized, and not quite professional. In fairness, it may be the clientele which seems to always have a crisis or provide incomplete information needed, never have the full money needed for the rental, or just generally wants to complain to a manager. It's a lot.

Nothing. All went well even when we ran into difficulties. Long story short, my fiancée and I had 24 hours to pack and move my mother from her home she resided in for over 40 years. I had my own lock and put it on the truck for safety. During the packing, the keys must've fell out of my pocket and into one of the packed boxes which put a halt on everything. It would have cost us $125 (to start) to get a locksmith to come out on a Sunday and remove the lock. We called the Uhaul rental facility in Chicago and they told us to bring it in and the'd see what they can do. Devin understood the situation we were in, cut off the lock and we were able to purchase another lock for $7. Thank you so much to Devin and the crew for helping us out and keeping us from spending another $125 dollars.

This was the only location that had the trailer that I needed for my trip. When I went to return the rental, they only had one person working in receiving rentals back. Once I was checked in, I had to unhook the trailer myself due to the fact that the only employee there was completely overwhelmed. I felt terrible for this individual.

The people were awesome, friendly and helpful. However, when I confirmed how much gas was in the truck they indicated there was 5/16 of a tank, but I saw only 1/4. So, I made a note of that and it seemed fine. But, when I drove off the lot I realized the truck had been parked on an incline and there was actually NO gas in it. Meaning it was on E(EMPTY). I made it 1 mile and had to put gas in. Then obviously forced to pay for a 1/4 tank that I didn't use. At $6/gal that's about $30 cost to me. Not happy about that!

When I arrived at the front desk to pick up the keys to the van, it took 30 minutes for the store associate to find them. Once I had picked up the truck and driven to the destination, I realized that the dolly and moving blankets I had paid for were not included in the rental. I contacted customer service and they said the charges for those items would be removed. However when I returned the truck I had to still pay for them. Additionally when returning the truck, there was no room in the area designated as the uhaul return, and no clearly marked area where I should return my rental. Several other customers also trying to return their trucks were also very confused as there was no clear area available to drop off the truck.

The actual location was fine but I was disappointed that I chose a location close to me and was told the night before that I would be at the Cicero location which is over 20 minutes from my location. The Uhaul smelled like someone had peed in the front seat but overall, the experience was fine. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful

Lock was left on truck so when I got to my house I couldn't open it. Called the location and they said if I had bolt cutters I could cut it off. Didn't have those so had to drive back to the store for them to unlock it

Person that was doing the return station was very nice and polite, but I was charged an extra day. I dropped it off 15 minutes before it was due and they didn't check it in until 9:40 the next morning which resulted in getting an extra day charge. Very shady.

I saw a big uhaul sign much closer than this place suggested to me on the app. I should get a discount for all my extra driving I did for pick up and drop off. I've never had a good experience at any uhaul location and I've moved many times and lived in three different states.

The storage facility was fine, but when I leased the unit the woman set me up for autopay only to find out after I received a late payment notice that it had not been setup. I setup autopay myself after that, and had no further issues. Attempts to reach the manager by phone and email were both ignored, so I wasn't able to get an explanation of what happened or get a refund on the late payments fee.

Quick and painless. The purchase of the storage unit and the return of the unit was very fast. Answered all my questions. Good filled displays of product. I was in a bit of a jam so i appreciate these guys for coming to wrk and doing the job they do.

This is what I wrote for the checkout comment portion: i will be sending an email to corporate about our truck fiasco when we received the truck on empty and was told we had to fill with gas for use to receive a credit when all we needed was a clean truck ready to use, how our room wasn't even cleaned out when we moved in, the lack of light not only in the room but in the hallway, the thermostats that read 90° constantly, the lack of toilet paper and paper towels for 2 weeks at a time, and the piles of spilled rice that was left in the hallway outside my room for 2 weeks. There is no way any sanitation practices were maintained and it is a health and safety issue due to covid. I couldn't even complete this form with a light on as all lights except for one have gone out. Horrible, I will never be back.

I spent 10 days trying to close my account. I was on auto pay and didn't owe anything but was told by corporate I needed the facility to close the account. There is almost always only one person on duty making it very inconvenient for you to see a rep without standing in line with a mask for an hour. The general manager/owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. Corporate also gave me the run around, transferring me from one department to another with no results. Lack of customer service and communication
