The app to check in on my own was useless after it gave me the number for a truck that was not in the lot. I got to take a nice tour in 0 wind chill trying to find it. When I told the app that truck wasn't there, the chat window came up and then nothing happened for ten minutes. When I closed the chat window, the app gave me another truck number that was not in the lot. Ditto for a third. When I finally got to the counter, I found out that the 26' trucks are parked on the backside of the building COMPLETELY out of view, but the app told me to look for the truck in the south lot at the front of the building.MICHELLE R.

Make sure the exhaust system doesn't falk apart and then when it does don't leave the customer stranded for 4 days until he himself gets under the uhaul and puts 2 bolts and a gasket and tightened another one to fix the uhaul. Ohh yeah and when I got the uhaul it had 6" of ice on it and when I asked the guy to clean it off it was clear he wasn't impressed. So then after 4 days of waiting in Cheyenne WY I get going and the wheel bearing goes causing the tire to go flat dangerous at highway speeds . So stranded again. I pull into the location for the transload to meet the movers and the uhaul guy is breaking the lock off my uhaul ....he was gonna check it in with all my belongings inside ....I got a new uhaul after turning down the one with bald tires he tried to give me ....nightmare. still haven't heard about any reimbursement after turning in my receipts I was also told I'd get 30 $ per person. Per day 6 days stranded 2 people $360.00 plus my hotels ill believe it when I see itJUSTIN G.

They messed up the contract I specifically wanted it till Friday the 24th but the contract was only made for 24 hours. The manager called me and was very rude and demanding when the problem wasn't mine at all in the first place.JORDAN H.
After asking two visits this week alone and spending over $200 before fuel replacement costs; I was asked to wait longer for my second equipment drop off so the associate could help people that arrived after me. I had already been waiting 15 minutes. I work 3rd shift 70 hours a week so this was aggravating as I was very tired and ready to be on my way. I will require a 3rd equipment rental this week to get my motorcycle and garage cleared. I will shop elsewhere.CODY F.

I got on line to reserve a specific trailer with a drop ramp and it said it was reserved and when I got there they didn't have anything reserved by me and the trailer I wanted was supposedly reserved by someone else. So I went with the trailer without the drop ramp but that one had the jack missing we couldn't hook it up so she gave me the trailer I wanted to begin with.PATRICK F.

Truck was clean but had no oil in it i did put 2 quarts in my self. Lady that checked me in and out was amazing 10 out of 10 for service. Will definitely use this location again your 16th ave location in Cedar Rapids now thats a different story counter people where more worried about theyer phones then helping a customer really disappointed in these 2 gentlemen.ANTHONY S.

Yesterday they helped me find an additional unit right across from original. When I went to switch stuff around, the staff cleaning units were friendly. Unit was locked when we arrived even after 4 phone calls and sending someone to obtain the unit. Arrived after hours unit locked. Called in the am assured by Drew it was now unlocked and available. Arrived 45 minutes later it was still locked! Talked to go she said people make mistakes i agree but Drew blatantly lied. She had me on hold 5 minutes while she went to see why their lock was still on it and then assured me it was unlocked! Don't trust her one bit.Tim H. | First Impressions

My reservation was moved from the 16th Ave. location to the Westdale location. Preston called the night before my pick up and notified me of the change in location. When talking to Preston I asked them about compensation for the change and he stated that there was a U-Haul guarantee that entitled me to $50 due to the inconvenience. When I brought that up to the Westdale location they said somewhat aggressively â€œwe're not paying thatâ€œ. After that they told me that I need to contact the 16th Ave. location, and I told them that Preston was the one who told me to do it through them (through the Westdale location). The Westdale location attempted to charge the 16th Ave. location for the $50 guarantee, but they could not figure out how to do it on their computers. I was told that they would have it figured out by the time I returned the equipment. I returned the equipment early and then called the next day and the person I spoke with said that they don't do anything with that on site, and I would need to call the corporate office. I called the corporate office and it was a 40 minute wait to talk to someone and I was not able to wait. The guarantee seems like a great thing on paper and as a marketing ploy, however it does not seem to be applicable when actually called for. I intend to follow up with the corporate office and the location to try and figure out what the next step will be, but if someone could contact me so we can get the guarantee finalized I would very much appreciate it. Other than that and the inconvenience of the location change things went well.STEPHEN H.

I rented 1 appliance dolly and it was never received. When returning the truck, I made it known to the employees working. They aired me that a credit was applied. When reviewing my receipt, they added another appliance dolly and added a credit so my total ended up being the same.Seth P.

Liked U-Haul offers climate control and that the units are alarmed. Nice to see carts available to move items into you storage unit. There was plenty of room to back up a truck and trailer into loading area. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only issues I noticed was a truck parked in the loading area for a long period of time that was not actively moving items to and from a unit. I believe this to be a loading area and not a parking garage. The center overhead door was not working to loading area. The restroom facility I used had one toilet that would not flush and there was no soap in the dispenser. Those 3 minor things I mentioned did not affect my decision for my rating. More accurate directions on which door or loading/unloading areas is closest to my storage unit would have been helpful. Also not very clear, in fact nonexistent instructions on how to open the loading dock doors without setting the alarms off. Or do they go off regardless? I wouldn't know. No signs or instructions. It took over half an hour to get set up, despite already having a reservation. (That's half an hour at the counter, not in line - I wouldn't blame a long line on employees.) Staff took an extremely long time to enter my information, and in some cases I had to spell my name or street address up to four times. For example, when I gave them the name "Margie" and spelled it for them, they spelled it "marde". I then respelled it, and they spelled it "marde" again. I had to spell it twice more before they spelled it correctly. Staff failed to apply my month of free storage from my reservation, and I had to point it out and then they had to back up and do it again. Staff told me I was using the same phone number twice, when I was in fact using two different phone numbers that simply had some digits in common - I have no idea why they couldn't tell two different phone numbers apart, but I had to argue with them for over a minute before they would acknowledge that two distinct phone numbers were not in fact the same phone number. Staff assigned me to the unit in the furthest back of the facility, even though there appeared to be plenty of units available closer to the loading area. (This one could be on the system, or maybe none of those units were the right size. I would normally give them the benefit of the doubt here, were it not for everything else that went wrong.) Staff did not explain the layout of the facility, and pointed me towards the wrong loading area. Staff did not explain how the alarm system worked, or where I was supposed to swipe my access card. I had to provide two street addresses and three phone numbers, and the staff would not explain why. Overall this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any business, and if anyone I know ever needs storage I will be strongly recommending that they go anywhere but here.Gabriel L. | First Impressions
