This location is under staffed or does not assign staff properly. I had to wait in like for 20 plus minutes with one employee. Also this location has an issue with systems failing. I went to return my rental and once again the system was down and could not get confirmation on check in for 2 days. Employees are friendly but very over worked. There was no lock had to go to the office. The customer service reps were very helpful I had trouble getting in with the passcode. Here is my issue I had we rented an appliance dolly thought we were picking one up and they said they did not have any and that they were having problems when you called to let you know that you did not have one in the store. Hours of operation should be extended 1-hour(8pm PST). The security system only allows the small door to open when the key gets swiped making it inconvenient to get big furniture through. Or at least making so that the double doors are useable after 7pm PST and you just have to swipe the card to get in.Elio C. | First Impressions

They rented us a trailer for three days to go to San Fran and back to Palmdale. They failed to tell us the locking mechanism was broken. We ended up having to drive straight back 7 hrs there and 7 hrs back, because it would not lock and we risked everything being stolen. They were supposed to take care of this, but have not returned any messages. The manager never responded back to multiple messages to her cell phone.Mitchell B.

The man I dealt with inside the store was rude. There wasn't anyone at the counter when I got there and then when he showed up he was rude. I was overcharged by 18 miles at .79 a mile and when I got the receipt by email they were closed. I brought the vehicle back with more gas then when I picked it up and that was not accounted for in the pricing. I was very disappointed with the service. The man I returned the vehicle to was great and he was the only good thing. The truck smelled like cigarette smoke. I feel that I was ripped off.kelley B.
The fees are too high once you return to drop the truck off. The truck wasn't cleaned, I had ordered a larger truck but they had rented those out after me dropping by a week in advance. I don't recommend them to anyone else. I hope that I can have a better review next time.DEBRA M.

Originally reserved truck and appliance dolly from Uhaul location on Sierra Hwy. They called morning of pickup and said truck was not available and to go to Ave J location. I made the reservation a week in advance for truck AND appliance dolly. Truck size was still available, but NO appliance dolly..at either location. We needed the appliance dolly. I was very disappointed that you didn't have a drop off from Lancaster to Hollywood and I had to drive the truck all the way back incurring extra milage charge plus when I brought the truck back I had to pay extra and wasn't told it was just an estimate that they didn't add when I had to drive to my old address load the truck and have to go back to the house to get someone there to pick me up from u-haul! A $39 truck ended up costing me over $200. I rented a 6x12 utility trailer with a ramp, to pick up a brand new Honda Pioneer 700. The Pioneer was in Paso Robles, which from Lancaster is a good 3.5 hrs away .Upon trying to load the Pioneer the trailer was not wide enough due to the configuration of the lights . I spent 200.00 on gasoline on the trip, and no UTV to bring back . Have to make other plans on getting the Pioneer back to Lancaster. I had consulted with Uhaul customer service as to this fitting a UTV . It may be a great idea to let customers know of the configuration of the lights as you loose a good 6 inches of space .Thank You.KIMBERLY H.

Your support staff and management at this location are top notch and that really made a difference in our storage stay with you. The irony in all of this is we started with this facility when our home was put on the market in mid July of last year. We initially didn't like the fact that rodent boxes were in the units themselves. A support staff member at another location here in Lancaster, Sierra Highway and Avenue L who is a former student of mine, told me the 411 on the rodent boxes and that changed my mind for the positive. Our home sold in 24 hours after being listed and we ended up with 6 storage units, two of which were at this facility and the last one ended up being the unit we initially started with back in June of 2020, unit 1017. I highly commend and will recommend this site to family and friends. A special shout-out to the Assitant Manager Michael at this site and Eric J. for being top notch employees as well as the staffs at this site and Sierra Highway and Avenue L. I was charged for two storage locks because I was told I needed two and discovered that I didn't need to buy them because Steven who was a rude Uhaul employee gave me two extra locks for free after moving my personal belongings into my Uhaul storage. It is a scam. I called Vanessa who is the manager at the store to give my complaint but the store manager never called me back. What am I going to do with two extra storage locks?? I find that extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Uhaul makes you buy the Uhaul locks and after moving in, they give you free Uhaul locks. On Nov 12th I reported my items stolen. Uhaul rep told me they would file a claim which they never did.After I called again a gentle finally filed the claim for me. My claim eventually was denied because it was no force entry per Vanessa the manager for Lancaster Site. DOnt tell me to read the contact, I know what it says. With all the camera this facility has no one was willing to at least check the camera to see someone going in and out of my storage. I had 2 tv's 50in and 46 in, my daughter shoes and her Keurig stolen and Uhaul will not take responsibility. I would never recommend your company. I paid for a temperature controlled environment to protect my pictures, videos, and keepsakes. More than three times I came to the storage to get something and found the temperature well over 90. I contacted the office the first time and they said the manager was on the way and would take care of it. I came again a few days later 90+ degrees, and again a week later, over 90 degrees.
