The clerk was so helpful! He got my pickup time changed when I messaged him about it. Walked me through everything! Both professional and courteous!
Jon M.There was no staff available to receive our dropoff. We did the dropoff via the app and when we completed that a staff member appeared and seemed offended that we didn't wait for them to inspect the trailer we dropped.

Adam M.Rented a 10' truck and only had a 15' truck. Why are the rates from Iowa $90 higher than the reverse route!
Mark H.Even though I was assured by the very young person at the counter that it was necessary, I don't appreciate (nor will I allow it in the future) for him to take pictures of my driver's license (both sides) on his personal cell phone. He said it was required by U-Haul it was necessary. I was also required to deposit an additional $60 cash because I was paying with cash. The lady on the phone said nothing of this. For what it's worth, the money was immediately refunded upon drop off. I tried phoning in a first time, and was told that there were no trailers closer than Marshall Town. I replied to an email from U-Haul, hoping I could find one closer - and the woman with whom I talked said there was one in Waterloo, but the earliest I could pick up was 3:15. I took it, delaying our departure several hours. When I arrived, there must have been 8-10 trailers lined up. Why did I have to wait until 3:15?
Russ F.They didn't check in trailer on day of arrival. Didn't check in until I received a call from U-Haul stating it was a day late. I contacted the drip off location the following day. They were out out they had to check the unit back in instead of me doing it.

Janet T.Everything was great about the rental . We unfortunately rented a 6' wide thinking it would be 6' wide because the mowing deck was 5' but the opening was only 5' wide so I couldn't use it because it wasn't wide enough.
Tim Z.They seemed to be understaffed and provided another option to check-in, in but did not make it clear how long or what the p; the process was. After assistance via calls and emails, the staff was able to check us in for no additional cost later in the day.

Larry R.I reserved a trailer online to be picked up in Oelwein Ia. U-Haul called and said it was not available in that location but it was available in Waterloo Ia. I told them that was fine but I could have it back by in time because of the additional distance. They said “that will be fine and thanks for working with us on thisâ€. When I picked up the trailer they made me pay for the additional day. Needless to say I will not be doing business here again and I will do my best to spread the word about U-Haul's business tactics!

I was incredulous at being asked for 2 phone numbers only having a cellphone and living in hotel. He went of on me using the word " fucking" as in your telling me I can't rent without a second phone #. Then proceeded to use the word fuck on me to which I pointed out his hypocrisy and he replied...you have already crossed the line. To which I said fuck you and walked out and spent the rest of day finding storage. The young kid on Monday morning was a Saint. Opened at 7am and I was leaving at 7 10 am. Mark R.Fix the app. The app wouldn't pull up my reservation until I ended up creating a new one. It ended up making me late because I was dealing with it so much. Another thing to consider, add a step for handicapped people. I can't tell you how hard it was to try to get in and out of the truck. If I ever have to do this again, I'll be looking for something a little more handicapped accessible or something to bring along to allow safe entry to the driver's seat.

David M.I was very pleased when the clerk pointed out he discovered the fuel level lower than the quarter tank computer had on record. He immediately went inside and rewrote the contract to reimburse me for the extra fuel I had to purchase to return the truck with at least quarter tank. He could easily have ignored that with being too busy and left me to discover and/or argue the fact on my own.

Staci W.The larger trailers are hard to get off of the ball hitch. There isn't a crank and you have to physically lift it up and off the ball hitch. That's really hard to do with a 12' enclosed trailer. I was alone when I dropped it off and the store was closed already. I almost couldn't get it off.

Also when I got gas at hyvee, it was half full and when I got back to uhaul it dipped below and then I had to put four more gallons. Also I had a 15 ft reserved and I got upgraded to a 26. So of course that meant I spent more on gas.

The service here really makes me feel like I have no problem getting a trailer for my needs. I've contemplated of just getting my own trailer but because of the cost, no need to store, and ease of getting a trailer at this location, I rather just use this location instead.
