Overall, this was a good rental experience. This is my 3rd time renting U-haul cargo vans and the experience is always good. The Rhode Island District Manager was so very nice in accommodating this rental for me. And, the local staff were extremely patient and kind. I would definitely recommend this location. The only employee at this location that I dealt with or observed in the 3+ hours and two visits I made to get this hitch installed who is worth the money you pay them is the actual mechanic who did the installation. The rest of them, starting with Adam who seemed to be in charge were the personification of extremely poor customer service and brand representation. If your training program includes lessons on how to be rude to customers, as unfriendly and unhelpful as possible, not to smile or look customers in the eye snd be completely oblivious to the duration of their visit, then they are doing a great job. If not, this location will be delivering a horrible customer experience to everyone who walks through the door.Timothy E.

I arrived on time it rent the truck, and with two people in front of me, I waited 25 minutes to get my truck. Upon returning the truck, the bill which that morning was estimated at $89, had turned into $170. The computer system had overcharged me $70. After much discussion with the clerk we came to a reasonable compromise, but needless to say I will not be renting from Uhaul again.Amanda C.
I wasn't sure what type gas to put in as the van I rented sounded like a diesel. I called them to ask so I didn't do it incorrectly. Maybe the equipment should have it indicated some where. We got down graded size of the truck we originally reserved and had to go to two different locations day of pick up. The reservation system at Uhaul is terrible and caused many complications the day of moving.Christopher M.

After arriving in Rhode Island I realized I didn’t reserve a big enough storage unit. When I mentioned this to the gentleman that was assisting me, he not only did what he could to get me a bigger unit, he also informed me that because I relocated to another state I also got the first month free for my storage unit. The staff and location are great! Vehicle I rented this time around was the worst that I have rented in years from U-Haul.Christopher L.
Received rental van with no issues, until the next morning. Went to start van and was unable to due to a theft deterrent system. I called the roadside assistance line upon discovering this and the person told me that this happens and it should clear and start after a few moments and trying to lock and unlock the van. It did start 35 minutes later. This happened several times on my journey and each time taking 20-30 minutes or more. Upon returning the van at the end of the agreement I mentioned this to the employee that checked it back in (same who checked it out) and he seemed a little bit concerned and looked into his computer notes, he said it did say it in the notes for it to be fixed. I was never made aware of this upon the rental agreement and it was an extreme inconvience to my travels and he seemed less than enthusiastic to care. Also, why would a van like that be rented to a customer when there were plenty on the site to go out. I find this situation completely distasteful.Michael R.

Installation was done with as worse quality and way as possible. When I pointed issues, I got answer "if I so smart was needed to make this installation by myself". Horrible experience ever. I did pay $150 for super bad installation and communication and now need some one else to re-work what guy from U-Haul made. Super bad.Stanislav G.
Have the size that I requested a month ahead of time ready for me instead of a smaller truck. I ended up having to rent a trailer and make a second trip. Not too happy. Also the roof of the truck leaked and some of my belongings were ruinedPatrick F.
I don't remember the man's name but I think his title was hitch receiver installer. He had a goatee. He was very helpful and friendly. I didn't have a necessary part to hook lights up to a trailer. Uhaul didn't have it in stock so he took the time to show me what I needed to get and where to access the cable inside the vehicle. Great customer service.Adam M.

Ensure employees answer the phone regularly. After renting the truck, I had a problem with my reservation and was unable to get through on the phone, even though I called 6-7 times over the course of several hours and left a message. My mileage was not correct, the cashier never fixed the mileage and Uhaul is now trying to charge me for driving 2,000 miles on my rental. My rental was return within two hours and I drove under 25 miles in reality. I will never EVER use uhaul again. They are thieves and extremely unorganized.Saif I.

If I was in a position to improve anything at U Haul it would be the wait time at your call center. I realize there are many customers all attempting too speak with a representative and some if not most could easily access your on line service. But in my situation I wasn’t able to get access to make a reservation for my storage. I am not sure if I had spoke with a representative on the phone my issue would have been resolved? Because I hung up several times from frustration of listening to your recorded messages prompting me to use the online service that I could not. The longest wait time was almost a half n hour . My solution was to drive directly to the location . I was pleased with your Staff and the associate who help me reserve my storage unit as well as the simplicity returning your truck the next day .Phyllis G. | First Impressions
When we emptied the storage bin, I went into the office to close out the paper work I asked if we would get money back since we were closing out a couple of days early would get a refund. My one complaint is that even though I had made a reservation and given my credit card, the unit I had reserved was given to someone else. End result: I was stuck with a unit that is NOT directly accessible from the outside, which inconvenienced me and caused me to pay more for my movers (to pay for the “extra steps”).
