The vehicle I rented was full of water, I had to dry the inside before using it. The vehicle had damage to a tire and was never able to contact the local office by phone to make sure it was okay. The customer service from the general number was amazing and the two young mean that almost looked identical one who worked the morning and one working the evening shift provided EXCEPTIONAL service which the general manager completely lacked. I would give the two young men raises and promotions as they would be the reason why I would suggest U-Haul to a friend or family member. Vehicles should have a thorough check and notes about the damage on the vehicle should be shared with the renters so then renters know it it safe to drive. I would have rated it higher but the ability to contact and talk to someone locally was completely impossible and when I clearly asked for a call back by a manager and that never happened.

There was no place even remotely close to park. The truck was dirty and poorly maintained. The rolling door was stiff and the ramp didn't work properly. The staff were kind of rude and hard to understand. I will never use U-haul again!

It took over a hour to get my truck. I had it reserved nobody at this location cared about the customer or their time. After. 5 yes 5 different phone calls for my reservation It was still wrong when I went to pick the truck up. Then. Telling 2 different employees I wanted the truck for 2 days. They still wrote it up for 1 day. Then after a hour to get my reservation. I and 2 others couldn't get out of the parking lot because one of y hauls trucks was blocking the lane way. I ask someone to move it. 20 mins later I asked someone to move it again. It took over a hour and a half to pick up my reservation and get out of the lots. No body at this location cares or really give a shit about anyone but them selves. I was totally disgusted with the service and respect that I didn't get. Bad. Bad. Bad. !!!

Very impressed with the staff at the Victoria B.C. location. It was extremely busy for an early morning, they appeared to be short-staffed for the workload, there were system reservation difficulties, and difficult customers lined up....but the staff were polite, in control and effective. They handled everything very professionally.

Recommend, yes but... Truck suited our needs and ran well although a gas hog. No way to contact depot directly for simple question and 1-800 is ???. No on-site parking which is a pain. On-line booking is ok but cell phone follow up stuff and pick up is intimidating to (older) non-techie person and with only one person on duty at very busy time wait time is frustrating although rep was very patient with me. Drop off was quick and e-mail receipt was prompt.

A full tank of gas would be better than an 1/8th of a tank in a gas shortage. Uhaul had left over garbage inside the truck and a hole in the roof. The uhaul was backed right up to a wall and it was incredible hard to unlock it at pick up.

The staff were not very professional and were speaking on the side amongst themselves (in another language) while they were both helping customers. They did not seem bothered that we did not know the process for renting the truck and we're not able to explain the insurance offered for the additional insurance.

It was a rough start upon arrival, however, at the end of the day it was a really good experience thanks to the young man who not only got my utility trailor ready, he also helped me Return it. It was the biggest downpour we have seen in a while and he continued to have the most amazing friendly smile and good spirits throughout helping me as well as the 50 other customers waiting. I think this young man deserves a big rais.

Very very slow customer service, the guy didn't seem to pay much attention to what was going on when picking up. The transmission in the truck was terrible and felt unsafe to drive. They overcharged me in gas, said the needle wasn't at 1/4 tank and it absolutely was. Overall a total shitshow in there and no one knows what their doing how how to use the system.

They never told us that we would be charged in miles not km and then never got paper work to state that to us and then they argued with us about the charges and where very rude and said they told us but they never did before or after we rented the uhaul . Sorry wasn't finished. I bit my tongue and said I think you over charged my brother, He whipped a business card at me and told me to deal with the manager, so I said my God your rude and left. I don't know about you but I know of a Hermione store I would not want somebody representing my place like that it gives you all a bad name because I will never rent from them again and was a very good customer rent edvery many times rented from Toronto to BC and will NOW NEVER rent from Uhaul again because of Kumar. When I picked up the truck, the location was veru crowded and seemed to only have one or two staff working (Tuesday). Vehicle inside windshield appeared to have been sprayed with something but not wiped away leaving spots everywhere on the glass. As I drove, it became very apparent there was some sort of issue in the front end. The wheel shook extensively during hwy driving.I advised the staff when I dropped off the vehicle that it should be looked at.

Supply trucks with gas in them. No one wants to spend large amounts of time after that rental. Looking for gasoline. However this location did you make sure seeing as I was with my disabled daughter, to give me an alternate truck with gas. Parking for the customers vehicles would have been good.

I really didn't like that I wasn't allowed to park my personal vehicle on the property. Street parking is timed and if you require your vehicle for a long time I had to park at the mall. Which made the late night return a little scary. The signage is small trying to read it while driving in to the lot.

Very poor service. Used the self check in and there was no key left for our truck. It took them 90 mins to arrange that for us. Rude service when we returned it. And hidden costs when you pay! Please read the fine print it is NOT the cost they advertise. I will never use this rental company again and I caution others as well.

Well for starters an employee called Kumar told me I look like a homeless person I have a gold ring on each finger and 4 gold chains on my neck I own a car and I had a rental key in my hand that I was renting from uhaul when he said this and even if I was homeless how rude can you get this guy should not be working for you it's not me working for you you've lost a good customer because of him. Then you are recharged me a $167 plus $40 For Au haul that we had for 2 hours I go in there today and it's the same guy Kumar he tells me after I explained that I was overcharged actually he flicked a card at me and said then you have to talk to the manager manager and people in front of me were complaining also about U-HAUL Maybe you need to remove him from your business because you're gonna lose a lot of customers.

Customer service was awful, I couldn't get a hold of the location, I rented a dolly that wasn't given to me and still charged for it, I missed a call from the local location and when I called back I waited on hold with the call centre for 50 minutes only to be told that I need to go to the in person location to speak to them since they aren't answering there phones. Really unhappy.

Check in agent was gruff and unhelpful. I arrived and waited for my check in. The agent saw me and motioned I was next. Subsequently another trailer returned. He parked in front of me. The agent took the later checkin first. I had to wait 20 minutes for that. When it was my turn the agent gave unclear instructions about where to back the trailer in to. He then seemed to have trouble getting the trailer off. He left without saying a word. He came back 20 minutes later with another guy. They got it off. Finally he said gruffly “ok, your done”. No signature, no receipt, no email that he had received the trailer and my rental was complete. A really terrible experience.

Provide customer parking! I rented a pick-up for a couple of hours but had to park my car 2 blocks away and walk back to your lot in the worst rainstorm on record, and then back again after I returned the truck. Also, I wasted time filling out all kinds of forms on line for contactless pick-up and still had to go thru the same manual process as always. To make matters worse the clerk needed a photo ID and all I had was a temporary drivers license. Luckily I had a photo of my expired license on my phone. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience.

-Equipment (utility dolly) unavailable even though reserved. Had to go buy one. -Never answers their phone at the topaz store in Victoria when trying to inquire about a storage locker after 4 attempt in 2 days. Even had the call centre leave a message to call back but never did. -worst of all is during a heavy rain, found out the truck box leaked and many boxes, toys and 2 mattresses with box spring for wet 6” up.

We were originally given faulty equipment (trailer without working turn signals) and it was clear we were expected to drive off the lot with that. After having to ask for equipment we won't get ticketed with, the employees finally found a trailer of the same size that they said we could take. The employees could not have been slower and after spending well over 45 minutes on what should have been a very simple pickup we missed our ferry off the island. Please try to be respectful of both the original agreement made of between uhaul and the customer and of the time constraints that many of your customers are under as you are a MOVING company.

I rented my Cargo Van with the mobile device option. It was highly complicated to go through the process when I was at the location and took 50 minutes to complete. I would not recommend to anyone to rent with this option.

Teach them how to adjust the outside mirrors. I could not locate an switch on inside nor could I adjust them from pushing on mirror to pivot or swing the arm out. I had to lean forwards to check if cars were next to me.

I will never recommend your company to anyone. And I will never use your service again. My rental was in the wrong location. I had to walk a very long way to get it. You can't get through to customer service, and stay on hold forever. No one could answer my basic insurance questions. Your service was one of my worst experiences ever.

Found out after I paid that my unit was on a second floor with no elevator and I had my move large furniture by myself (which would have been less dangerous with an elevator). Had to go back to customer service 3+ times because attendant did not give me access card, did not tell me how to enter the building, just did not seem to be focusing on what he was doing. I asked to be put on a waitlist for a first floor unit but did not get any confirmation.

The lockers are smaller than advertised and when you are storing 18 inch boxes the 3' wide storage rooms need to be just that or they are useless. The first room they tried to put me in was about 28 inches wide and when I complained they put me into a room that was 34 inches and still charged full price. I was left with no choice but to find storage elsewhere and then had to rent a truck to move everything to the larger storage room at a different facility.
