Try being honest with customers. THIS RENTAL....cost me an extra 5 days because rental agents were either untrained or told me what I wanted to hear to get a sale. Worse than that... A uhaul CSR Svc mgr was to look into the situation and call me right back.... Still waiting.... I will think long and hard before I choose a rental company again...... Honesty is important. Trustworthy equipment is equally important - my unit had an issue I had to resolve. Not impressed with the rental, the agent or not being treated honestly by CSR management.

The service was great, very responsive, the 26 ft truck I used was very much out of line, and I was constantly trying to keep truck steered correctly. My brother who was behind me thought I was unable to steer. I reported the truck to the representatives, not sure what they did, but I recommended a front end realignment. Howard

The whole pre registered truck rental on line was a mess. Took 20 minutes to be authorized to get keys. When you have people waiting who are getting paid to stand around 20 minutes is too long.

went 17 miles and charge 13.42 for gas at 4.25 a gallon and the truck was not full when picked up other than that was fine

The tow dolly right light was not properly attached. There were only 2 screws when 3 were needed. One of the two could not be tightened. Wish I had noticed this when we picked up the dolly. We did see it when we were about to leave on an 11 hour drive. During the trip, the two screws were loosened and fell off, then the faceplate to the light fell off, then the light was dragging in the wind for a few miles, by the electrical cord. Then the light fell off. The whole housing to the light fixture needs to be replaced, as it was cracked before we rented it. There was also a sign saying it had been previously fixed.

Pros: Price was very reasonable. Threw in a free dolly. Cons: Booked my truck well over a month before needed, and was called the day before to be told "they dont know what the system did" but I couldn't have it for as long as I booked it for and "it was a busy weekend so lots of people had trucks booked". Was told on the phone the check in process from getting the truck to leaving with it took "3 mins" I asked because I was on a tight schedule that morning. Even with the 3 minute comment I still got there 15 mins earlier than my pickup time and the employee insisted I use the online app even tho there was noone in there and he could have just checked me in and the online app took 25 mins by the time I started to getting my truck. And the app process was neither quick nor easy.

Everything went smoothly on pick up and drop off. Brian the owner/manager was great, very friendly and helpful. I've rented a vehicle 3 times in the past year and have always had good service. No problems with rental from this location.

The van's gas tank was supposed to be full at pick-up and full at return. But it wasn't really full at pick-up and since a truly full tank brought the needle quite a bit below the 'Full' mark on the gauge, the difference wasn't trivial and amounted to several gallons.

After going out to what was supposed to be a 20' truck I found out that they had switched it to a far bigger 26' truck. When I went back in, Brian Blair was very rude. He did call another location that he said was 15 miles away and said I could go get that one. My ride had left at this point and I had no other choice but to take the 26' truck. When he called the other location he sat and talked about drinking too much the night before versus helping me get what I needed. When I tried to explain what he was telling the person on the other end of the phone line was wrong, he put his hand up and told me to be quiet. There was a 20' truck on the lot, but he could not rent me that one or have someone bring me the one from the other location. This was after UHAUL already had switched my pickup location from Herkimer. I was moving my in-laws to a senior apartment and am 56 years old. I had help lined up for that day and it was our only chance to empty their house out as it has sold. I haven't been treated that rudely in years. His "don't give a shit" attitude does not reflect well on your company. Having been a retail manager for many years, I'm not sure how he still has a job.

I rented a 26' truck from the west Utica Uhaul which called me and told me the morning of they didn't have a working truck so I have to go all the way to this Uhaul and get a 20' and told me I would get it for 79 cents a mile for the inconvenience and I didn't. This costed me so much extra money definitely going to use a different rental company next time for costing me double of what it should have! Such a disappointment!

General Manager was disinterested, didn't seem to want to be bothered by me. I rented a pickup truck for 2 hours, drove it 7 miles and when I returned it the guy checking in remarked "but you didn't put gas in it, did you?" I drove 7 miles! That's about $1 worth of gas - hardly worth mentioning and certainly not enough to move the needle on the gas gauge. They need an attitude adjustment.

Don't do a damn thing. This U-Hall location ain't broke so don't try to fix it with some interfering "improvement" from Corporate. Brian and his staff are doing a great job. Whatever you're paying them, it ain't enough. Show some appreciation and give them a raise.

Rome NY couldn't provide us with the car dolly so we had to go to Utica. I was very disappointed but they were really good about it. We showed up early and even though one guy was working by himself, he was awesome!

we were supposed to pick our truck up at 8:00, but when we arrived, the app said we had to wait until the store opened at 9:00, messing up our schedule with the movers. Pricing was significantly more than signed online for ... We'd been given a free upgrade as the one we requested was not available ~ but ended up charged for it. Vehicle was not inspected before we took it, and found the steering way out of whack and a tail light out.

Brian, the General Manager, didn’t even greet anyone or ask how any of us were. All he did the whole entire time was complain about how much he hates the software. I’d never go back to that location again. We seemed to be a huge inconvenience. Also, he unlocked the door for us and just shut it in our faces and didn’t even welcome us. I’d highly recommend couching the General Manager on how to be friendly.

Phone was never picked up at the local office. The office needs more staff apparently. I chose this site because they guaranteed availability - another site could not. Workers that were there were great.

Computer crashed, had to wait an hour to pick up truck. After hours check out, computer wouldn't except my CC for payment after I booked it with same card. Check out "verification code" that received wasn't excepted 3 times. U-haul computer system needs work. Management and this location we're great though...

There was only one person working.. waited 45 mins past my pick up time because he was running around to get each person set up and even fix something that wasn’t working.

There was only one employee there and many people waiting in line. We waited 40 minutes to get our reserved rental van. The employee was working very hard, but they should have had at least one other person there to help the customers. Otherwise, everything was fine!

Brian, the manager, is as rude as they come. I stopped in on Friday to reserve a truck for that weekend. As I walked to the desk at the far side of the building he sat slouched in his chair, and before I was even halfway there informed me he couldn't help me until "she" (he pointed to a woman across the store shopping for shipping supplies) was done checking out. He then sat there doing nothing while I stood waiting and the other woman continued to shop. I understand he already started ringing her out, but he couldn't ask if I needed something during that 4-5 minute wait? When he finished with her I told him I was there to see about getting a uHaul for that weekend and he very quickly interrupted me and said, "There's no way you can have one Saturday and Sunday will be tough." I told him I preferred Sunday anyway, he asked what time, and I said, "I know you don't have any during the day Saturday, but I saw you have 24-7 mobile pickup. Is there anyway I can get one later Saturday evening so its ready to go Sunday?" He VERY sternly said, "I already told you there's nothing on Saturday!" I then asked what the earliest I could have it Sunday was, it was too late for me to work with, so I thanked him and left. (I'll point out that as we were leaving, even my 9 year old pointed out how rude Brian was.) When I got home I reserved a truck online. I received a call from a very friendly woman at the main office in Syracuse. She explained that none were available at that time, but suggested I reserve a truck even for a little later because many times the trucks come back earlier, and that I could call Saturday evening and see if anything had been returned early. That's exactly what i did, and thankfully a truck was available for me 1st thing Sunday morning. Sunday I got up Uhaul 20 minutes early, along with many other people. We waited in the rain for the doors to open. At 9:01 Brian came to the doors, opened them up, unlocked the latches on the doors, and then shut them again without saying a word to anyone. We all stood outside looking at each other wondering if it was now ok to go in. Finally one of the customers opened the door and we filed in. I turned to my husband and told him, "That's the guy who was so rude Friday." A complete stranger next to me said, "That guy? He was rude to me the other day too." After that everything went fine for me, but I was 3rd in line. Brian was the only person working, and by the time I left there had to be a dozen people standing behind me. I'd have been quite furious if I had reserved a truck for 9:00 and had to then stand in line for an hour to get it. They were obviously not staffed appropriately for the reservations they had. Brian is rude and unprofessional, and lacks managerial skills.

The store manager was very rude ...I was looking at purchasing a set of four rachet straps for my move and he was very impatient and didn't allow me time to really look at them and then upon returning equipment he acted all mad again and was swearing cause the printer didn't print two receipts before mine ....overall store was very clean and equipment was very well maintained ....

Stop lying about the dimensions of your trucks. I got a "20 foot" truck that was a little under 17 feet long. When you're planning what you're packing in a truck the 'grandma's attic' does NOT count. If the 17 foot truck I originally wanted had been available, I would not have been able to fit the 16 foot boards in the truck, and I would have had to waste half my day, and probably pay for mileage to fix the situation. This is a ridiculous bait and switch, that could only possibly serve to enrage customers counting on a particular space. Just advertise that your trucks are the same length as Penske, but you have the bonus space up top. Don't dare to try and justify this practice, because it does not make sense to anyone, unless you're trying to deceive people.
