My only challenge was online had me pick up the van at the site and they were not ready for doing that yet as their trucks etc were a couple miles away at another location and I ubered there. The other site came and got me though and the rest of the experience was great.

Reported to the Tryon location to pick up the vehicle as indicated on my reservation form and was told to go to the Dalton location...all the vehicles were there. This location is in transition, but I asked why the Dalton address wasn't on the form initially if this is where the vehicles are! Then the computer system went out (July 12, 2024) and I waited at the Dalton location for almost 2 hours before getting my vehicle. The people were nice and indicated that the system goes out just about everyday. Problem with IT??!! Overall, a poor experience.

The location is in the middle of a physical move. I was charged for being late and for not having half a tank of gas at return 6pm, same day. I have pics of the gas gage at pick up (less than half) and at drop off (put $10 in to bring it to less than half). Despite returning to 340 Dalton where I picked up my truck, I was still charged. I spoke with Michael who confirmed I was overcharged but could do nothing about it after the incorrect check in. I had to call the 800# and Sandra requested the pics I was unable to upload and rental agreement. She confirmed an adjustment was due. The charge went thru today as the overcharge. FIX THIS NOW. I'm driving from Amarillo to Kingman, AZ on Monday 7/15 and should not have to spend time trying to get a signal to call your 800# AGAIN. At this point, I cannot recommend this Charlotte location. Seems like a lot of people have a "couldn't care less about this job" attitude.

I have yet to receive a receipt and returned the truck within 3 hours of receiving it when i thought i was going to need it the whole day. The location I showed up to was not the actual address that I had to go to, which was confusing.

Make sure that if a person purchase from a dealer and return to another dealer be able to put it in the system.. and not billed for something that was not used. Last if not changed on bill and going less miles, the bill should be less. Not more.

The original truck that I was picking up had the undercarriage of the bumper hanging off and I wanted a new truck. If I had gone over a large bump or it got caught on something it would have ripped the entire bumper off. It was verbally insinuated that it was not a big deal, however I still wanted a different truck because it was not safe to drive for myself or other drivers on the road in case it flew off while driving. I however enjoyed my phone experience when I call the general U-haul number. Everyone was very helpful.

I think having the gas tank full at the beginning and it would need to be full when returning . To much guessing as to where it needs to be when you turn it in. Everyone was very nice and I was very pleased .

The vehicle was in poor condition. The driver’s side sun visor was broken. The back cargo door was difficult to latch. The staff were not willing to help me make sure I could get the job done. After they were unable to help me reserve the equipment I needed, they offered little assistance in helping me find what I needed and where to get it. Generally, the staff seemed to be in disarray and unhappy with their working conditions. As a person who rents many trucks, on many cross country trips - I will continue to use Penske. While they may be a little more for in-town, their customer service and quality of vehicles are far beyond the rentals available at uhaul

I had to wait in a line outside for 80 minutes to get a trailer that I already reserved and I checked in online. There were 2 very slow guys working there. I had to pay 2 movers $130 per hour while they waited for me.

I had an horrible experience.. The parking situation was the first ugh moment.. The. To have arrived 20mins early and didn’t get the truck until 45 mins or so after my actual reservation was a bummer! The site crew lost the keys to my assigned truck after they completed the cleaning and I had to wait until the one representative that was on site to finish up with other customers before reassigning me to another truck. In which the truck was not cleaned out and my husband had to help clean it so that we would make our set times “ which we didn’t “ we were thrown off trying to get moved in the appropriate time but made it work.

The computer systems were down all day on the day we were trying to pick up (June 28, 2024). The initial location where we were sent did not have the truck. We then had to return to Tryon street location twice to finally get the truck. Since the computer system was down we were told to use the app. The app showed multiple error messages and has far too many steps to be useful or convenient. If you want customers to use the app, it needs to be completely reworked. We spend about 5 hours trying to pick up a truck - which was eventually processed by an employee because the app does not work. It was stressful and unprofessional.

The check in system was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Even if you do mobile check-in you still had to wait in a long line to just simply get the keys. I waited for 1.5 hours to just get keys, which went into my reservation time because I checked in online when I got there. Unacceptable! There was a guy yelling for people to move their cars every 5 minutes after he told them to move them to a certain area. They ran out of moving equipment because they did not set aside reserved equipment. So, everyone that had previously reserved one did not get their equipment. Some people were having to buy new expensive equipment from the site. Overall, I would NEVER use this site again. There was not one positive part of my experience.

Parking area for customers is very sketchy. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my car. The associate moving the trucks was a bit rude. The associate inside the office was very nice. The waiting period to get access to the truck was very long to have reservations we had to wait a hour before getting assistance.

I have used U-Haul 3 times two times of which have been at this location and each time on All occasions I have tried my best to use the online services to return the truck and equipment and my sessions always time out I take my time and do it two or three times before I call in but all in all it was a good experience the people on the phone we're very helpful and I appreciate all their help and consideration

Great customer service ! I was extremely nervous to drive the U-Haul truck . I can’t remember the male staff name but his jokes about me being from GA really helped calm my nerves before getting the truck . I was called from a corporate number with a free upgrade— and the one they moved me to was not a “one-way” truck. So they had to find me another truck when I got to the location— resulting in it taking about 45 minutes to finally get a truck. I suggest that this is coordinated through the location from now on because it was an absolute mess & bad experience, and threw off the logistics of the workers there who were very kind.

The check in process stopped after I submitted 3 photos. I don't know if the check in completed. The app reset when my Verizon connection changed from LTE to 5G and did not complete the process.

The app on my android had a lot of bugs and wouldn't let me share mt location so I wasn't able to complete after hour check in. I had to call customer service 3 times for it to work and then when I used my boyfriends phone which is an iphone and it worked. The app needs to be checked for bugs with the android because it was not working

The app experience was the worst experience I've had yet. Even switching between landscape and portrait mode was resetting the pickup process everytime. Couldn't tell if it kept my remarks on the vehicle. Incredibly frustrating. On top of that the initial vehicle has a flat tire and I couldn't find an easy way to get a new truck thru the app. Had to call and go through 5 different transfers since the front office was closed. Overall was dissatisfied.

Truck was on Enpty - only 26 miles of driveable miles per dashboard Took 40 minute to check-in via mobile. 2 on site staffers were useless, not helpful and rude. Like they were doing us a favor and we weee bothering them asking about fuel. We asked for another truck due to low fuel and they refused saying none were available - there were at least 10 trucks parked in a row - same size 15’ Asked for a adjustment on the fee as I had loved on the clock but arrived 55 minute late due to low fuel (no mileage could be read due to that warning) + had to wait for 10+ minutes at gas station

Transparency & Ethical practice are some of the things you can start with to improve customer experience. I was forced into adding insurance to my cargo rental when during the reservation process, I opted out of it. Was told by Roneisha Jones, that I will not be refunded because it’s mandatory. I beg to differ.

Employees did not want to do anything. Rental was scheduled for 12:30 but did not receive the truck until 1:00 due to it not being ready. Made in back in time to check out with an employee, but was still directed to do mobile check out which took 20 minutes. Also overheard one employee answer the phone and say they were “too busy” to help them and to go online.

This location tried to bill me over $600 because they LIED saying I drove over 1000 miles when the total trip including 3 gas stops was 700 miles!! I had to dispute their bullshit with my bank. I WILL NEVER use U-Haul again. And notified my bank to also put a stop to any future charges they try to pull out of their ass towards my account. $500 theft is a FELONY! And if they try anything else, I will get local authorities involved!

This is one of the worst experiences I've had with U-Haul When I arrived to pick up the truck, it wasn't available for mobile pick-up specifically knowing I'd arrive after closing. Since the U-Haul office closes at 4 PM, I couldn't get the keys. The customer service lady was completely unhelpful, suggesting I pick up the truck the next day, even though the lot was full of available trucks. This wasn't an option since I had movers scheduled and waiting. I tried to rebook online for a bigger 20-foot truck. After completing the transaction, I was given the wrong combination for the lock and couldn't get into the truck. I was on hold for over an hour trying to get the right combination. This is unacceptable. When I finally got into the truck, it didn't have any of the dollies I had reserved and paid for. This added even more frustration to an already bad situation. Because of all these delays, I couldn't finish my move before the storage unit closed. I had to book the movers early the next morning to return the truck on time, costing me extra money and stress. Overall, this was an incredibly unprofessional and infuriating experience. I'm really disappointed with how this was handled and the lack of support. Please address this immediately to prevent such awful experiences in the future.

Overall the location was fine. The truck was clean and worked just fine, and worth the price. The instructions for pickup on the app were a little unclear. We were sent a wrong photo of where our truck would be so we had to search the lot for the truck. It was also a bit difficult to figure out how to unlock the word lock because we have never done that before. Other than those issues everything was good. I would go back here again if I needed another moving truck in the future.

I setup 24/7 pickup for a truck and it went through. I was called and told the location of the open bed truck I rented does not do 24/7 pickup and had to switch to a 10’ U-Haul. Not a huge deal, but when I got to the location there were open bed trucks with 24/7 pickup advertised on their side - which was slightly annoying. What really negatively impacted my experience was your self pickup took over 25 minutes because it took over 13 minutes of me sitting and waiting for the “approval” process to begin.

The UHAUL we originally had reserved for 9:30 AM wasn’t ready for us until 10:30 so we got lost an hour. Spoke to a friendly front desk woman who said she’d accommodate us with the lost time when we returned it snd we also returned a little late but it looks like were we charged quite a bit more upon return without the inclusion of the time we lost to even get a UHAUL that was ready for us. When we returned no one was there so I am assuming nothing would be applied accommodation wise as the return was automated.

I had a strange experience at the Uhaul location in Charlotte. There were two employees working there. While I was waiting outside for the trailer to open, the customer rep mentioned the WiFi was down, but when I went inside, the computers were working fine. The other customer rep (a woman) said the credit card machine wasn't functioning, so she manually entered my credit card number into the computer. I couldn't see the computer screen. Right after she processed my payment, I received a call from Visa Fraud Prevention. I was charged $650 by Uhaul and $1072 by Artyzen Singapore. I have reported this incident to Uhaul and to Visa. If anyone else has had a similar experience, please let me know.

Overall had a good experience… minor stuff…. the online checkin process is a little clunky, and when I came back in the evening time on the same day of pick up it was ALMOST challenging to get my car out as I left it there… because the return trucked was ‘just left’ in front of the car parking… maybe have some cones/sticks to make make it better for cars being parked and/or temporarily or staying there and or a better spot to have for returned trucks after closing hours. Overall good experience

U haul didn't include 5 pads I requested when I initially made the contract. But in your favor I will say I was credited and refunded the difference. I do appreciate that. Michael was very helpful but I ordered my U-Haul for contactless pickup however the app and my emails never said which vehicle was mine nor did it mention to see someone inside. I was trying to figure it out for 30 minutes before I realized there was an office and had to wait another 30 minutes before I could start my rental.

I have been a loyal member for over two years with unit 813, and I never received any written notice that the facility was going to be demolished. I called about an inquiry for my bill, and then after dozens of attempts to reach out to them and never got a response, I then find out that I had two weeks to clear my unit. I no longer live in Charlotte so I had to spend over $600 to book a flight and a U-Haul to get all of my belongings when all of this could’ve been avoided if I had more of a notice. I will never use U-Haul again after this experience.

This facility gave me a lien notice on a unit I moved out from even after giving notice a month prior. I submitted my move out request online which I have confirmation of. On site during my move out I explained I was moving out, met with the on-site manager, and even had the movers be introduced. I am unsure what more I needed to do and if there was a missing piece it should have been comminuted by a manager. I do have an email that management switched over which caused the issues but that should not be my issue. You are charging me for a fully vacant unit which is completely unfair and could have been easily mitigated.

The online service was amazing the only thing that might need to change is if it is a locker that online its explained if its an upper or lower locker. This was not explained to me and when I went to get my keys the lady was nice enough to help me get a lower locker since it wasn't explained. Other than that it was simple and convenient.

I had a nice experience with the uhaul storage facility but a nightmare with renting the truck in Georgia to which I reserved a month prior to my move and had lots of issues when it came to the day of rental. This location had a problem with the location itself - can't get in and out because of returning u-haul trucks blocking access to storage unit. Staff was not concerned and did nothing to try to eliminate this major problem considering parking was an issue too.

When we got there we set out on the outside while the camera was viewing us trying to get in we could not get in and then had to go back to the office and wait about 15 minutes and for someone to come to take a lock that was on the unit it was hot

The manager at this facility was extremely helpful and very accommodating. I can tell his facility is popular because of all the activity going on. His staff acted as a well-oiled machine working together to get trucks turned in. I also appreciated the manager enforced masks in the main lobby of the facility.

The facility was overall dirty and not safe. Surrounding streets were full of homeless. Storage rooms were poorly constructed and hard to access with anything bigger than a moving box. The inside staff was helpful. Outside staff was very unhelpful and looked to be high. Wouldn't recommend.

The staff was great, very accommodating in helping me get a larger unit than my initial reservation called for. This facility was maintained fine but it is located too close to a homeless encampment and I’m worried about the security of my belongings. Once again not the staffs fault, more of a fault of the city allowing this to happen. I will be moving storage facilities soon as a result of this issue

There were dead bugs, no ramp to unload on, the staff was unprofessional and rude, and the walls of the storage unit looked like a murder had taken place. I would never store anything here and canceled immediately after seeing the storage space.
