The only issue was when I got to our new home and parked the truck after drive I realized the front left tire was leaking oil on my brand new driveway from the hub seal I advised the employee at the drop off location in Auburn maine Was a little frustrated by this as of now I have a company coming in to clean the oil off the new drivewayJen A.

I had to drive with windows open all the time (regardless of that blowing wind noise in my ears) due to nauseating MARIJUANA stench!!! OUTLAW MARIJUANA smoking in trucks. ALSO: Uhaul staff will have to add BOTH spraying cabs with Lysol as well as hanging those pine tree shaped "deodorizers" in trucks!!! But I bet neither will kill that forever lasting marijuana stench!!! IF you think Maine's "law" against smoking pot while driving, or even having that in their blood stream affecting their brains while driving, is stopping pothead people from smoking pot while driving YOU ARE IDIOTS!!!! 90% of cars that pass by bus stops (I use buses regularly) have MARIJUANA FUMES pouring out their windows!!!! Pot heads think since they cannot smell their own OVERWHELMING stench that non-users can't either!!!! Fact; that pot users sense of smell is permanently destroyed in their brains, so that they are incapable of smelling their own noxious odor!!! Not even when they aren't "using" they still cannot smell it left in the air by other potheads. The last 3 times I've rented, the trucks reeked of marijuana!!!!! The clerks were authoritarian and dictatorial. So were the corporate forms. Everything was geared to have the corporation have all the power and control. They didn't even want to give me a receipt for drop[ing off the equipment. I had to demand a receipt to be able to prove I did so if a proble appeared down the road. You even wanted to control the specific vehicle I would transport on the trailer. There was threatening language in the paperwork to intim midate me into buying the insurance. I have been renting from u-haul for over 40 years. Now I'm looking for other options.ARMAND M.

The truck I got smelled really bad when I got in. And I'm gonna tell you right now I was not at all impressed I tried extending the vehicle they would not allow me to then I got rushed to the hospital by ambulance which scarred everyone cause my daughter found me unconscious on the floor and guy that called my phone when the vehicle was late and talked to my son is lucky I couldn't get a hold of him cause when my son told him I was in the hospital he said that he found that hard to believe because I lied on my last return and owed money. And that he needed the truck for someone else and had my son in tears cause I was in the hospital so I am not happy. And he's lucky I couldn't get through to him on my phone and my son don't remember his name. And he's gonna have a fit and say I lied about mileage and gas well he lied about needing the vehicle back as well because they returned it around 4 and we drove by there headed home around 730pm and it was still sitting where they left it. So how is needing it for someone else and I can send u proof I was in the hospital so ya I am not happy at all with the service of this uhaulKeely C.

Terrible terrible terrible customer service at this location. For weeks leading up to my delivery I had to deal with a young woman who acted like an insolent child in each and every phone call. Furthermore, after taking an unpaid day off from work and hiring moving help, I was not notified that my delivery would be delayed to another day. I not only lost a day's pay, but lost the moving help and had great difficulty finding someone who could help me unload my pods. Luckily the company I hired were generous and understanding, and so did not charge me for cancelling at the very last minute.MICHELLE D.

I was told I drove 33 miles, with an estimate of 15. I went from Lewiston to Auburn with the gas gauge not moving but I put 33 miles on it? Does not make any sense. Trying to explain this to the worker who decided to tell me one thing and then say something different got the manager and he walked in all high and mighty didn't even want to hear what I had to say was extremely rude not even caring about the situation. I was completely beside myself to see how poorly I was treated! Not even and I'm sorry. If I ever need a U-Haul again I will never return to the Auburn locationMARIA V.

I went in to rent a truck. I knew that some was available because I had tried to book one on the app but I was having issues with my card. I went in to rent a truck and was told "we don't have any trucks available." I tried explaining that I knew there was trucks available but I couldn't rent it from the app. She stood firm and said again that nothing was available. I went outside and was able to get my card figured out and guess what? A truck was available and able to rent. When I went back in I told her that I was back to pick up the truck you said was unavailable, she told me "well you'll have to get ahold of the traffic department because we don't have any 15ft trucks available." I told her I never asked for a 15ft truck I just wanted a smaller truck, either a pick-up, 10ft or 12ft truck but you said nothing was available. She processed the rental with as few words spoken to me as possible. When I returned the truck I spoke with a second employee and told him what happened upon pick-up and he said "that's weird because I saw her do that to a couple guys who came in around 1pm asking for a truck and I had just cleaned 3 trucks so I knew there was a couple available, I asked the guys if a pick-up would work for what they needed and they said yes that's what they looking for." This is the first time I have experienced that at this location but if it happens again I will never do business with this location again.HENRY B.

The customer service here is absolutely terrible. The person completing my order was rude for no reason, spoke to me like I was incompetent, and demanded I pay before receiving my equipment. I expressed confusion because we paid after the rental was completed at the Portland store, and he got combative and aggressive when I explained this. I paid $30 for a 6x12 rental at the time of renting, and upon returning HOURS before my agreed upon time, and at the same location, they attempted to double charge me again. I id not get this associates name, however it's clear the workers there need more training on customer service, and anger management to tame their attitudes.HOPE B.

Rental unit had driver door that was hard to close. U-Haul condition check-out app froze when trying to upload photos three times in 15 minutes. Each time had to start over from the beginning. I had good 4g signal strength on a Samsung Note 10.CHARLES H.
The location was fine. The woman working inside was very polite and wanted to be helpful. However, the mobile check in process was horribly slow and cumbersome. It was extremely difficult to communicate through the live chat and the additional steps to check in actually made the process far longer than if I had checked out the truck in person with the actual human working at the location. I rented a pickup truck and auto transporter in Auburn Maine UHaul to go to southern Massachusetts to pick up a vehicle and come right back to Maine with it. The trailer blew a tire on the Maine Turnpike and I pulled off in Gray and called UHaul to have it repaired. I got a MAJOR runaround from UHaul, was promised the repair folks would be there in less than an hour and 3+ hours later I was still waiting for them when they called me and told me they had to locate another trailer, then called me back to say it had to be dug out of snow-being unready for use. Then they showed up and told me they had had to dig out a replacement trailer for me and they replaced it on the truck I had also rented. In the meantime UHaul called me before they came and offered me an extension of rental time for my trouble, hole day of lost rental time and all due to THEIR EQUIPMENT FAILURE! and inability to get a replacement trailer to me in any thing close to a reasonable time! I accepted the extension because it was my understanding that I was being extended at no charge due to their mess up, but that is NOT what happened! They allowed me a two day extension but then they charged me for the entire rig rental for the entire extra two days!!!!!! I NEVER would have needed more than the original 24 hours I had rented the rig for but for their equipment failure! I have been a loyal UHaul user for 45 YEARS but they did NOT CARE one whit about any of that. They gave me no gratis extra time, and did not take one penny off my rental! DO NOT RENT FROM UHAUL IF YOU CAN AVOID IT, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF IN THE GUISE OF PRETENDING TO "HELP" YOU!DAVID P.
Brianna changed my reservation to somebody else named Sandra Holmes. She did not verify the phone number or the reservation number. I know this because had she done those things she would have realized that Sandra Holmes did not already have a reservation and would have started a new one. Instead, my reservation was changed (which is the only way I can think of that my reservation number was used for a completely different truck and date). The biggest problem with this is that had I not received the text message letting me know of my drop off time (Wednesday 7/21/21 by 3pm) I would not have known there was a problem. I would have shown up on Saturday the 24th expecting a 26' truck and not had a reservation!SARAH H.

I rented a storage unit and had nothing but terrible customer service. I emailed customer service and the corporate email with no responses. Finally on the day I decided to move my belongings to another company, there was a nice lady there and she actually listened to my complaints and took good care of me. The customer service was terrible, the storage unit did not seal well so my items were completely covered in road dirt and I could not access my unit at my leisure because they park their trucks in front of the units. They told me to give them notice. So I went all the way out of my way a few days before I would be there with movers and let them know the day and time I would be there. I was repeatedly promised the trucks would not be there. Sure enough the trucks were there. Went out of my way for nothing. The Manager at that location lacks any and all customer service skills. When I went to my storage unit there were trucks lined up in front of the unit. The customer service rep gave us a hard time and just about refused to move the trucks. This happened twice. The customer service is very poor to the point almost everyone is rude. There is also something wrong with the mechanism on my unit we had to pry open the lock every time we went there. The staff including Josh, and the two younger gentlemen (didn't get their names) have been accommodating and pleasant each of the four times I've dealt with them. I even had someone back into my truck on accident (not staff), and they were quick to act, making sure if needed, a claim would be filed.
